I'm really sorry to say that I didn't seem to enjoy this issue as much as the others. Most of the voices seemed to be slightly off, for me. Joker's especially. Though Kate's is still perfect. Also, it felt like a few of the scene's seemed to be very reminiscent of the recent movie. Though I'm not sure if that might have been an intentional nod to such a great movie. Cover was great and the story itself has a nice feel to it, but I'm sorry, it just felt kind of... off.

Brian,
I am sorry the story didn't work for you. The nods to The Dark Knight and Batman Begins is intentional... I spoke to a fellow writer about Joker because he's never been a character I am comfortable with... maybe it shows? Anyway, he said I should model him after the Heath Ledger performance so I tried that with a lil Ceaser Romero and Jack. (Guess that's why all the voices might be jumbled up.)
To me Joker is supposed to be a character that portrays madness but is sinister underneath... that maybe an old school interpretation of him, because I had read some really early works that Bob Kane and Bill Finger did back in the 40's. But, what I've learned is you gotta take the good with the bad... so if it doesn't work I need to try and figure out what needs to be done to make it better.
Well, I hope you'll come back... There's more to tell.
-Jay
