I read parts of the opening before it went up, and I have to say that seeing it all here in it's entirety was a delight-- it was great seeing Vigilante talk Ollie Queen into action, and not the kind of action we're used to, but the kind of action that Ollie needs. Good times. I'm loving the continuity shared between this and Green Arrow, and moving toward some classic Seven Soldiers times! Awesome. The parallels between Spider/GA were spot on, and I was glad to see someone talking logic instead of emotion when it came to Ollie's situation. Everyone's getting angry, and someone just needs to speak to him in terms he can understand-- and also punch him in the teeth if he gets a bit winy. That's what I like to see.
The Son of Vulcan developments were interesting to read, and I liked his banter with Hayley, nice, spot on stuff. The characters continue to interact like they were real, a great ability that Don wields for the forces of good! The origin of Bradamante was great, and the dialogue she shared with Pat was really great. "Dam" took me a second too, and it was nice to see that I wasn't the only one.
A great issue, Don! Thanks for sharing! I'll be back, as ever, in a month... or whenever ;D

This is a really great issue, and it's great to give it a chance to slow down and explain at least a little bit after all the busy action last time. I looooved the first scene, from top to bottom. I'm also really curious to see where the Crimson Avenger storyline keeps going, it's been fascinating every time it shows up. I have to admit, i let out a "really?" Right along with the characters after the revelation about Guinevere XD Mikey and Haley were quite adorable, and of course (being the chivalry geek that I am) I can't wait to see more of Bradamante as she sticks around.
Great work, as always

I'll have to echo most of Sam's comments. This was a nice "breather" issue even if you see more crap coming down the chute And Greg continues to be my favorite character. Its nice to see someone verbally slap some sense into Ollie's stubborn head. I'm sure that Greg has PLENTY of wooden fences that need mending or hay to be baled and put up in the barn. The Spider comment was a big blow to pull out but it was probably necessary to cut through the self-righteous bluster. I wonder how Yolanda is going to take having to besmirch herself over the air? I'm guessing "not well" and poor Syl has the past come up and bite him on the rear again... And the "keeping regular" comment from Gimmick was a good one. Sorry, I still laugh at fart jokes - I'm juvenile like that Another awesome cover too!

How'd you know my first job was at a restaurant? Seriously, I poured many a cup of coffee and slung a piece or two of pie in my day. Very good story, lots of new plots being spun here. Poor Justin, he keeps missing out with his busted leg! And...El Papagayo! I remember you asking about him! You're not gonna give him the parrot too, are you?

Arrgghh. Let's get Justin back on that horse! Another outstanding issue. I love the Crimson Avenger and you are really doing him justice here. Not a bad note in this song. Great job with both cover and story. Keep it coming and I'll keep reading. (And not just because Ollie's here. )

I was letting this thread go to let several comments pile up for replying, then forgot to do so when it did. D'oh! Sorry for taking so long to get back to all of you and your wonderful posts. It's always good to see new characters get a welcome reception. Believe me, I was very nervous about bringing in Bradamante and Son of Vulcan, because this IS the Seven Soldiers, and Susan did a strong job of bringing those characters to life, and I didn't want to give the impression of sidelining them for my pet faves (especially since most of the Soldiers ARE pet faves of mine). For now, the ensemble cast is introduced and will stabilize, and believe me when I say the original surviving Soldiers will remain the heart of the book. In fact, one of those hearts, Greg, he's going to be too big for just one title, so keep an eye out for that. The Crimson Avenger mystery will continue to build, believe me (in fact, check out the new issue, due out this week, and it should be up in a day or two), and we all know Wing is dedicated to the cause, but Sally's not out of the picture (which wasn't planned, but she's grown on me and others, it seems), and we'll see how all this comes to ahead down the road. And Lee Travis, the original Crimson Avenger, isn't even out of the picture yet (he'll be popping up in Danger Trail for one, and in a few more issue, Susan returns to grace these "pages" with a unique look into the scarlet newspaper publisher. I'm VERY excited for that issue, believe me! El Papagayo, the Parrot, now enters the realm of legacy characters. I cleared his use with Susan and don't even ask me how I came to pick him, it's such a convoluted trail I'm not clear on it all. All I can say is, Yolanda is in for rough times in her private identity while La Garra will have evil birds to hunt down. And Susan, a parrot, you ask? Will he have a parrot? All I have to answer that is a quote from the BTAS Penguin, when I say "Aviary of Doom!"Brian, Justin will be getting back up on the horse again; in the very next issue, in fact, he puts all his energy into rehab, because now he's got even more reason to push himself. There is a LOT of story there for Danette, Justin, Brenda and Pat. Yes, I mention Pat. heheh Great comments from you all, and thanks so very much. Some great insights into Greg and Ollie, and the others, and I hope to keep you all entertained with the upcoming issues. See you all then. Take care Don

And I quote Poison Ivy from that same episode when I give you a look of disbelief and say, "Aviary of what?"

Nice nice nice. After the last issue that was more or less a big fight against Vulcan I love to see the characters interact more on a personal level again. Loved the first scene with Greg and Ollie. Just loved it. Happy to see Oliver being a part of the book now. Bradamante's history sounds interesting. I look forward to see you developing her. La Garra is such a crazy and sexy chick, it's unbelievable. I really like what you made of her. Never was a fan of the DCU Yolanda Wildcat. Okay, I never read a lot about her, only in Zero Hour or another Crisis or so I think. Not sure if she was anything like the version you write, but I really enjoy her in your hands. Mickey and Hayley... what will happen between these two? Can I feel some kind of romance in the air? lol. Liked the scene when the sprinklers started. Good job.
And again the Crimson Avenger scene tops it all for me. I just love this guy and the mystery you build about him here. Love Love Love it.
El Papagayo... interesting choice for an opponent. Never heard of him before. I look forward to see what you have planned with him and with this Black Star guy. And of course I hope to see the Dummy soon again. I'm waiting for his return since he broke free from that museum and put the little boy into the box. LOL
Great work here Don.
And I realized that I haven't made any comments about the covers of this series so far. Guys, you all did an amazing job.
5 stars

absolutely. I could really see that little boy sitting in the glass box. At least it wasn't one of the refridgerator scenes. The boy was at least alive

well, it's only said that the boy is staring out of the box. No comment if he's alive or dead. But I for my part am thinking positive.

And I guess that's exactly what Don wanted. This scene is so ambiguous. Less is often so much more. Good work Don.
