Hey everyone!
Well... this isn't a post I really wanted to make, but... it's one I really need to. So... a while ago, I noted that because I was deep in uni applications, I would have to take a break here- which, it turns out is an understatement. I have major exams next month going into February, and then more major exams in May- the latter of which sill suck up my April as well. And when I do have free time, I'm doing so much essay-writing in school that doing MORE writing, even something I love, is just not something I can bring myself to do.
So... I think I really have to say goodbye to the site. :-\ I've already told this to Charlie- hence why 'The Flash' is up as vacant. I owe Charlie an awful lot - from the heady days of the early Marvel2 to editing me on New Gods and Flash- and dealing with my always wildly unpredictable delays and inane ideas! He really doesn't deserve to be left in the lurch on both Flash and Justice League like this, and I'm deeply sorry that I have to.
I ALSO have to apologize to Brian- we never did get that Impulse issue out, and I regret it; I was genuinely looking forward to working with you!
But... much more than that, I want to thank you- all of you. Charlie, Brian, Dave, Susan, Don, Dan, Pat, anyone else I am forgetting (Don't take it personally; my memory for these things is appalling!) ... everyone from the DC3, the DC2 and the Marvel2- and even way back to the old 'Ultimate DC' for some of you guys! Everyone who ever wrote an issue that made me smile- everyone who blew me away time and time again with so-called 'fan fiction' a thousand times better than actual published series; everyone who ever took the time to read anything I read- thank you all for a LOT of happy memories. Not to mention all my magnificent cover artists across my time on the three boards- Scott, Trevor, Doc, Jon, James, Craig and the rest... everyone who made my issues look FAR better than the writing could suggest across New Gods, Ultimate Fourth World, Thor, Fantastic Four- and of course... the scarlet speedster. Writing all of these here was a privilege and an awful lot of fun, and I'm grateful I had the chance.
But... I did say this was bittersweet, and I don't want to end on a sad note; so I leave you with this. This morning, I got a letter telling me that I had been accepted to Oxford University.
Thank you all again SO much; I may still check in occasionally to do some reading and I hope to see all of you around!
And Merry Christmas, one and all!
