...so I wrote it about The Joker. I'm not caring too much what grade I get in this class so I thought I'd have a little fun with it, and figure you guys are the most likely people I know to get it
so just for fun I thought I'd post.
The Least I Can DoWhen I was a child, still stupid and small,
I loved carnival candy and masquerade balls
And the sound a bird makes as it squawks and it calls
As you rip off its neck and toss it to the wall,
And the least I could do was enjoy it.
For it’s never enough to cause mayhem and pain,
Just to leave them to take their last breath in the rain,
Like so many crude others, from Adolph to Cain
With no art, so their victims could die all in vain
Because nobody stopped to enjoy it.
If I deafen a man and then play out a beat;
If I tear out a tongue and then offer a treat;
If I push a new cripple out into the street,
Then they cry and I laugh and it’s been such a feat
To turn pain into simple enjoyment.
Well, we’re all gonna die, even fools like me know,
And I’m tired of bearing the sling and the blow,
There’s no fun in just waiting, life moving so slow
So I’ll rise up the curtain, and on with the show!
It’s the least I can do to enjoy it.
