I'm wanting to pick up the two GL books from this and last week (damn volcanic ash stopped the delivery hitting last Thursday, so I've had to wait) but I'm not sure what else I want to buy. I'm trying to move away from more obvious superhero fair but I find myself being dragged back time and again.
Wanted to pick up Brian Wood's DV8, because I'm a big fan of his DMZ stuff, as well as DEMO, so he can't really go wrong in my book.
Wanting to buy Iron Man #25 as I'm adoring Matt Fraction's stuff, and also wanting to see if any stores nearby are stocking Iron Man/Thor for FCBD... because I want to see if Fraction's Thor is worth it (but have you seen the team? Ferry! Nice!)
And to ignite some controversy... I'm wanting to get into JLA.
Yeah, I said it.
It looks like it's gonna steep itself in the DCuniverse, and with a JSA crossover coming up? Robinson is good at this stuff. Cry For JUSTICE!!! was god-awful, don't get me wrong, and I have no idea what's going on with RISE and FALL (Arsenal is on drugs. And he's gonna end up being Arsenal again. Wa wa, his daughter is dead-- BUT FOR HOW LONG?! BRIGHTEST DAY!!) but the pitch for the new Green Arrow series looks... intriguing, to say the least.
Thoughts?

Well I've actually enjoyed jla since robinson came on board. I didn't actually read any of cry for justice, didn't like any of the characters involved really as it was? Not the biggest hal and ollie boys club fan tbh, please don't throw rocks
was excited about his new team, but then he has had to get rid of a lot of them, and is going to be working with a more pared down Version with Batman, donna troy, starman, congorilla, jade, supergirl, jesse quick, and I may be missing somebody but I think that's kinda his thing. I like the idea of this team, and love jade so I kinda have to be on board.
I'm excited for dc more so than I am marvel at this point, can't wait for birds of prey and brightest day.
I've always been into Xmen but I'm not a fan of uncanny at the moment, I don't think it is fractions best work, and I know he is capable of so much more...and with the death in xforce this week I'm a bit sad.
I am looking forward to secret avangers though...lol I think I'm completely off topic as barely any of this comes out this week...

Oh, Secret Six and Birds of Prey are high on my list of books to buy, and I can't wait for the inevitable crossover-- and on top of that, the fact that Hawk [and Dove] is back is something I'm so psyched for. Gives me ideas for Justice League on DC2, but I don't want to overload the roster-- which I already have! Gail Simone can rarely do wrong, and whilst a few of her Wonder Woman stories have taken missteps (some are over long, some are down right esoteric) I've yet to be turned off anything she's done.

I'm trying to move away from more obvious superhero fair but I find myself being dragged back time and again. Jonah Hex (Seriously, some of the best writing going right now) Victorian Undead (freakin' awesome zombie comic) Viking (Cool and violent historical fiction) American Vampire (just started but it's Stephen King) Joe the Barbarian (if you have fond memories of childhood toys...) Locke & Key (God, do yourself a favor and get the volume 1 TPB) Cowboy Ninja Viking (Weird title. Good comic) Umbrella Academy (Don't hold his crappy band against the writer) Robotika (SF fantasy post-apocalyptic coolness) Orc Stain (a unique take on your normal Tolkien-esque fantasy) Perhapanauts (the monster version of the X-Files) Atomic Robo (just a really good fun read) Don't get me wrong, I like the spandex crowd too but I take it out once in a while.
