I saw this trailer and I half expected Kenneth Branagh to show up in a giant mechanical spider. Not a good sign.
I'm gonna see it anyway, i'm just saying it looks like dumb.

Josh Brolin looks like he's made for this film, and I have no problem with the change in origin for his scar. I love the look of this, even if it does deviate quite a bit, and yeah, I can see the Wild Wild West comparisons. Bit too shiny, maybe? And what's up with that Gatling gun? COME ON. OK, the more I think about it the more irked I get, but I think this is meant to be mindless fun, and it's probably gonna go the way of the Punisher films.

It looks okay to me. I have never read much Jonah Hex though. In the interviews on that page it sure seems that the actors in the film were totally clueless and had no real respect for the source material. Seems to be an ongoing theme with comic book movies. I can't stand reading an actor talking about how they are bringing something to a character to make them more interesting. Many of the characters they're supposedly making more interesting have been around for decades on end. They must have something already interesting about them to have the longevity they do but as always Hollywood is in its own world with their giant heads stuck up their asses.

Like how Mark Valley approached Human Target. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving their take, but it's not what I expected. This is from the CBR interview: So you've sought out and read some "Human Target" comics since you landed the job on the FOX television series?
Yes, I bought as many as I could on eBay. And I read the Peter Milligan graphic novels, which are pretty easy to get. Those are pretty cool, but they seem to be a little more introverted and existential Christopher Chance as opposed to the comics that Len Wein wrote. He's a guy who likes to mix things up a little more, just because he's enjoys it.He's gone about this the right way. Sure, it's not the Chance we were expecting, but still, he's done his research and I love him for it. He cares about the show he's making, and just because it's not as awesome as it could be, it's still bloody brilliant!

Yeah, any time Megan Fox opens her mouth during an interview, all us Hex-nuts cringe. Even worse, she seems bored during the trailer, but that's fine, because she bores the piss outta me too. I read the AICN stuff a few days ago, and I sweated it out until the trailer hit. There's some things that I roll my eyes at (that Gatling gun rig would spook the horse like crazy), but thankfully, Brolin channels Jonah so well that I think I can ignore the bad elements to a degree. No, we're not gonna win any awards, but there might be some fun to be had. At least until we get to the nonsense with the big ol' dragonball-firing gun and the Capitol building-shaped crosshairs.

Oh there is no doubt this is going to be a bad movie, but some movies are best when they are bad. Let's look at what it offers: 1) Western (I love westerns) 2) Megan Fox playing a whore (if anyone can pull this off she can!) 3) Violence (I love violence)
How can you go wrong? Going to be a guy movie for sure... Don't think this will be a hit on date-night....
