Hey guys, I guess I'm going to throw my hat into this art thing. I haven't drawn anything since I was about 15, so there's a lot of stuff I need to learn/re-learn - and I wasnt that good to begin with. Here's a pic of Stephanie Brown as Robin. It was my fourth attempt and still needs a lot of touching up. I'm pretty proud of it. I hope once i get my artistic legs under me, i can contribute to the site. Thanks to the great artists of DC2 for inspiring me - I'm in constant awe of your talent.

Not bad at all, Alex! Helluva lot better than I could do on my best day. I see a lot of promise in those images, actually.

I do too. I think you got a lot of potential... if you got some coin you should check out Riven Phoenix's DVD's series on Structure of the Human Being.. I bet after you integrated your style with that.. you'd blow down the barn doors with great art.

Not bad Not bad at all. Steph's breasts are a little bit too big ("what do you mean...too big!?!?!?!") but all in all a very cool pic. I hope to see more soon

Steph's breasts are a little bit too big ("what do you mean...too big!?!?!?!") Whenever a guy says this.. his should be saying.. make the butt bigger! Just kidding... Good stuff. Keep it coming man.

thanks for the compliment Riz. I adore your art (Firestorm #0 has been on my wall since you sent it to me), so the kind words mean a lot.

This is great attempt. I looks good. The eyes and nose need work. Rule of thumb I go by is less is best. You capture her busty stature well.
(What can I say??? Look at my own art and every one understands where I'm coming from.)

I was just surfing my photobucket account and found this. Its an unused cover for my defunct Spawn series at IC and felt like sharing it since I liked it.

Hey All! I know I've said this before, but now, I think I'm better suited to make a DC2 comeback. It's been something that I've wanted to do for a while, but I've undergone a bunch of huge life changes in 2011. The biggest one is moving from sunny and warm South Florida to not so sunny and not so warm Seattle (you guys can begin to question my sanity at any time), so I've been spending the last few months getting situated and acquainted with my new home. I took my previous sabbatical in an effort to improve my artistic skills and to learn to draw things mostly from my mind, which I couldn't before. I was reliant on photos to draw and I wasn't improving, so I had decided take some classes, do some tutorials and really breakdown and rebuild my style. Unfortunately, with my move across country, it hasn't left me with much time to write and draw and I haven't done much of either for months. But wanting to get my self back into DC2 shape, I'm going to try to draw at least one DC2 character a day, so with a couple of hours to kill downtown, i got a sketch pad and a pencil and began to get to it. First up is DC2 Wonder Woman. I've started to get into Wonder Woman and her mythos when I heard JMS was taking over the title. One of the guys who helps run the comic shop i went to in Hollywood, FL was a huge Wonder Woman fan and we used to get into long discussions about the character when I would go to pick up my comics. I'm just starting to delve into Wonder Woman's DC2 history, since I have a couple of ideas for some stories. Overall, I'm glad how it turned out, considering I haven't drawn anything regularly in 5 months. The biggest thing that I'm happy about is that this was 100% drawn from my mind and I didn't need any photo referencing for the body (I did need some to remember what her DC2 costume looked like). I was worried that I wouldn't be able to with my long layoff. There are some areas I'm not that happy about and I still need a lot of work, put I'm hoping that in a month or so, I'll be ready to take on some DC2 work. I also promise my next post won't be so damn long winded.

It'd be great to see some Wonder Woman pitches again. I can't tell you how hard it's been to get anyone to take up the writer's role for the series after Charlie's run, and as editor, I tried really hard, talking to a number of people about a number of directions. I'd love to hear what you've got in mind.
Take care Don

Welcome home, Alex. I'm looking forward to your work gracing the site again, especially if you've got a killer Wonder Woman hook in you. Good times for all!
