Just wanted to share what I think are some of the best artwork of one of my all time favorite DC characters. Often misunderstood and In my mind one of the most mentally unbalanced heroes in the DC Universe.....Hawkman.

Some great pics, Jon, thanks!
Hawkman is one of the more visually interesting characters in the DCU, that's for sure... But unbalanced? Not sure if I can get behind that statement--- he's no more unbalanced than, say, Batman (with none of his psychoses, either), at any rate. Hawkman may be no-nonsense and there is a tendency to make him "edgy" and reactionary, but I wouldn't say unbalanced.
(As a Hawkfan, I had to represent ;D)

I think having Tribute threads is an awesome idea!!!!!!!! We need a sub forum for Tribute pages were people post their fav pics, their own fan art and discuss the character/team. This would be a sweet idea! And those Hawkman pics rock btw. Such a visually cool character. This was my idea for him in Smallville before the official pic was released: And as a bonus the same thing with Dr. Fate: And how Id like to see Dr. Ray Palmer: lol sorry got carried away --hair and wings for HM not by me.

Ok how about less unbalanced and more bi polar. See Batman wont snap on your ass for saying the wrong thing, he will just glare at you and make you wet your pants. But Hawkman, he's more physical and doesn't have a problem letting his fist connect with your jaw for what ever the reason at that moment in time.

Ok how about less unbalanced and more bi polar. BI-POLAR!?!Didn't you say he was one of your favorites? LOL! Well, I would agree that he has no patience for fools, emo-type equivication, or dumbassery. No junior sidekicks for Hawkman! Could you imagine Damien Wayne teaming with Hawkman? That would last about... 90 secs before the little brat gets a mace upside the head! (Disclaimer: I LOVE Damien Wayne!)

lol I think hes saying bi-polar is a bonus in terms of creating an interesting character.
Also I love that attitude. I generally prefer JSAers with that attidue. Theyve seen it all and really cant be arsed with people (young upstarts) who thing their so awesome. I really hope that is the sort of hardnosed Hawkman we see in Smallville....also thats the same reason Ive always loved the concept of Wildcat: hes an old guy sure but he aint gonna take no crap from you and you better stay the hell of his lawn! lol

I am a huge Hawk fan. The bi polar just adds to it.

I am a huge Hawk fan. The bi polar just adds to it. Hawkman isn't bi-polar. He's a warrior, he's a poet, he's a king, he's a monk, he's a knight-- he's been everything and everyone at least one time during his life, and he knows pretty much everything there is to know; so this, in my eyes, leads to a bit of arrogance, but people seem to forget that he's bad-ass a hundred life times over. I really like the character, but I would never say he's bi-polar or unbalanced. Misses the point a tad, in my opinion.

Yeah especially when you remember bi-polar is a disease and really the term only applies to that. What you are trying to say (I think) is that he is multilayered and has many facets all of which reflect a difference face of the character not all of which are easily seperable. Hes like the David (as in Biblical) of DC.

Ok fare enough. I guess what my point was that he has no problems dropping you like a bad habit. One second a great guy the next you got his fist in your mouth. I guess if you have lived as many lives as he has you have earned the right to be a bit temper mental. This rapid change to me is what I would call a tad bit unstable. Unstable as in watch what you say and dont offend the guy with the big wings and mace in his right hand. What most would ignore or just give a evil look your way, Hawkman just shows you the back side of his fist. In a way a much easier way to go about things. lol. you make your point and you scare the crap outta ppl. But thats just how I see the character. I tend to look at things in a unique manner.
