UNBELIEVABLE! Your Joker is really creepy, and your first pic posted looks like it was ripped right out of "The Dark Knight Returns". All your Batman pics (and others) are great! Great job!

I tried to stick with Frank Miller's Batman costume and design, while still drawing in my own style. I also tried to emulate the colors of DKR, but that wasn't so successful in my eyes (just doing Photoshop colors, and not Painter, I couldn't really get the subtleties of the watercolor. Ah, well. It won me a Gameboy.

*L* I think it'd be a waste to keep this locked up in my portfolio... and creepy on my wall.

(I also checked out yer site and saw the Tori peice...I did a few peices just like that in highschool! It's good to know I am not alone!) :> Thanks. The Tori piece was painted as a gift to a "friend," but she ended up not being worthy of it, so I gave it to a more deserving friend. I only have a color photocopy of it now. Were you going to start a thread and post artwork? The more the merrier.

Hoo-ha! I finished the long-overdue restructuring of my website. You can now see it at www.onegemini.com! Most of the pieces you saw here are now there, as well as stuff that is new to both the site and this board. And one more piece in the meantime;

Super nice Nightwing design. Stripe off the sleeve, mask pointed down the nose, a much-needed utility belt - all great costume improvements. I nominate this for the official DC2 Nightwing design.

is he wearing leather? because when you try to be all stealthy and you *scrunch* when you move... that might be difficult...

is he wearing leather? because when you try to be all stealthy and you *scrunch* when you move... that might be difficult... Not really... but leather scrunching is the least nitpicky thing when you are dealing with Batmen and Nightwingers. Suspension of disbelief and all. All the X-men in the movies wear leather... and the filmmakers didn't stress about it. From my own fanfic, which describes this suit; There was little difference between each of the costumes, physically at least. Two of the six costumes had dark navy blue masks as opposed to the other four, which had jet-black facing. The two odd costumes were what Dick called "travel" costumes; they were slightly less armored than the others, to allow easier concealment. The other four were the heavier shielded and equipped suits; each suit was made up of triple-weave Kevlar body armor with the highest ballistics-rating that was available. The Kevlar was interwoven with flame-retardant Nomex textile. The Nomex, along with electronic cooling systems in the suit kept Nightwing comfortable in even the most extreme conditions. They had saved his life in more than one raging inferno. The masks of the suits contained an internal comm-link that enabled voice-command control of Nightwing's various equipment. Nightwing had a choice of either utility belt or wrist gauntlet when he went out on sweeps. The belt was a lighter carry, but with less cargo room, while the gauntlets offered easier access to equipment, but hampered his hand to hand fighting to a certain degree due to their weight. Nightwing usually left the gauntlets to "away" missions. An assortment of Batarangs, monofilament cord jumplines, and gas bombs were among the things that the utility belt could hold.

*drools* what? whuh? sorry... i spaced out... i do like the design though... The information was based on Batman's suit design from the Batman Tech Manual. If you wanna pick nits, you at least should know which ones you're picking at. 'Sides... aren't you writing one Batman or another? In some cases tech is just as important in stories as character arcs and plot.

The Nightwing design is well thought-out and visually arresting. I agree with KSM that it should be the "official" DC2 Nightwing.

Dude, the fact that Nightwing had no utility belt (I am sorry, but utility gloves???) always chaffed my ass. Great design.

Dude, the fact that Nightwing had no utility belt (I am sorry, but utility gloves???) always chaffed my ass. Great design. I think they did it because they wanted Nightwing to have a sleeker costume. A utility belt can really interfere with that design. On the utility gloves, it was a nice thought, but how many times have you seen the artists actually forget he wears them. I took the belt from an older version of his costume. It's not really "practical," but it's there, and it doesn't break up his sleek costume much.

Yeah, that was always one of the things that irked me most....Scott Mcdaniel designed the gloves to be thick, with the compartmentalized ridge. But most artist just draw it as tight and flush with the forearm. And it also used to bother me that they couldn't come up with a design that was sleek but didn't look like a one peice unitard. Now, I sound like I hate his costume, which I don't, I actually dig the simple and direct way that his costume communicates that he is more of an acrobat. I always just wanted something , well, closer to Batman. (just in the sense that it is comic-booky and designy but at the same time was believable for a non-powered crime fighter.

I've just got to say that the nightwing costume has a great leather effect. That's hard to pull off (I know, I've tried), but you did it. Well done!
