Ted Kord (aka the Blue Beetle II) 1966-2005 Just looking at Thormeister's great rendition, and a few people talking in the Art Department, I thought a Blue Beetle tribute thread might be nice. Since he untimely demise recently, his popularity has indisputably increased. I've never met a person who admitted disliking (or hating) Blue Beetle. The worst criticism I heard, directed towards the character, was that he was lame. And he was, in a way. Compared to Superman, the Martian ManHunter, or even Aquaman and Batman, he was certainly lame. He had no powers, and his only weapon was a flashlight. That didn't stop him from fulfilling his desire to be a great hero. He was the common man, in a Halloween costume, trying to capture that childhood dream. There is nothing lame about trying to be more than you are. So post a picture you drew of our departed friend. Ramble a bit about your memories of him. Give him a fond farewell!

I haven't read any Beetles solo stories but I liked him in JLA. So I drew a pic. And then I added some old pics...

No, just post in this thread. It's only small; it shows Ted reminiscing about his life as Max holds the gun to his head.

What happened to Ted's company now that he is dead. Does he have heirs? Does everyone know he's dead? Did the world now his secret identity? Do they know now? hmmmmmmm. I smell a mini-series. Oh wait.....no...that's me. Sorry.

Oh wait.....no...that's me. Sorry. In DCU, it was established that Kord Omniversal had become a subsiduary of Wayne Corp. I don't know if Ted Kord is now listed as a missing person, or if a death certificate was created for him. I have a feeling Batman may have tried to hide Ted's identity with Blue Beetle in case anyone connected Ted Kord/Bruce Wayne and Blue Beetle/Batman.
