Some people might wonder how a multi-part epic like this could maintain momentum throughout the entire run. This issue proved that the Crisis freight train just kicked it in to high gear. The pieces are all falling into place and racing toward one hell of a finale. This is the best tale in the multiverse...wait...multi-what? This story ended with a heroes death and hope for victory. Now I know why Artteach's amazing cover looked familiar! Thanks David for not only bringing the entire Crisis together, but for also demonstrating the gold standard in storytelling for the second time this series!

Best issue of the Crisis so far. I could pick out little bits I liked (seeing the old Fawcett characters, hearing the "Holy Moley") but it worked magnificently as a whole - epic storytelling that really deserves the name Crisis.

I have to agree with Mark. This issue was the best Crisis tie-in I have read so far. I really liked how the most powerful beings on Earth went up against Darkseid and got beaten to a pulp. That is exactly how Darkseid should be.

Thank you, folks! I am extremely proud of this issue.
And, John, good catch! I wouldn't be suprised to see this become significant in the future (hint, hint!)...

Dave, just gotta say how impressed I am. This issue is a testament to both good writing and good editing.
Seeing everything come together this issue in the grander scheme of the crisis, it's amazing. I wish the pros could get it done this way!
As for the story, fantastic! I loved everything. From the Captain Marvels to Superman's freedom, right to the last word. Kudos on you for beginning the story with a dialog between mortals and ending it with a dialog between gods. It gave the story a fearful symmetry, which is always fun to read.

WOW!!! Finally our heroes are starting to come together, and what a way to do it! This issue is a testament to what a great comic and a great crisis can be. I also have to agree with John on the cover, seems vaguely familiar.
Just when I think you couldn't get any better, you up and surprise me again, Dave.

Great issue David! Man do you enjoy killing the guys off or what!? After this will there even be any characters left for us to write about??! ;D Kevin The big death in this issue--- I killed him with a heavy heart, and in a proud tradition (my inspiration was the death of Karate Kid from the LSH baxter series, but there's a little Supergirl from COIE there, too). He went out like a hero. His death meant something--- and will continue to! Alas! Ambush Bug met his maker off-panel in the first moments of the war with Apokolips, but it was too gruesome to describe. Poor Irwin...

Irwin Schwab, DEAD?!?!? NOOOOOOO!!!!!!! Fear not, AB, Cheeks the Toy Wonder shall avenge you! ;D
On a more serious note, let us have a moment of silence for the passing of Captain Marvel Sr. That boy of his has a lot to live up to.
All around, great issue...but when did Lois and Hal meet? Did I miss a story somewhere, or did it occur off-panel?

On a more serious note, let us have a moment of silence for the passing of Captain Marvel Sr. That boy of his has a lot to live up to. Great point, Susan! To find the answer to that, check out Billy's adventures in the Shazam! #1, debuting in October! All around, great issue...but when did Lois and Hal meet? Did I miss a story somewhere, or did it occur off-panel? It did occur off-panel, shortly after the events of AOS #10, where Superman tells Lois (and I'm paraphrasing here): "If anything happens to me, go get Green Lantern, Wonder Woman and Captain Marvel to save my ass..." Though as to why she went out west for GL, first, and then to NYC for WW, you got me. Lois Lane logic! ;D Actually, this brings up something else: GL's pivotal role in this issue. I am particularly anxious to hear from Lantern Lad on this: did I do justice to Hal? What does everyone think about the whole Kyle Rayner thing building here (yet another new title spinning out of the Crisis for Year 2)?

Great issue! The characters were perfect and responded to one another as they should. I loved the lightening bolts blowing up Darkseids crib. The big escape and so much else was just plain fun to read.

Astounding issue, highlighting many of the most powerful members of the DC2. A shining example of unselfish heroism at its absolute finest. All of the heroes in this story played important roles and acted with great courage and determination.
I kind of dreaded reading this since I had an inkling of what was coming, but I must say I was deeply moved by the valiant portrayal of Captain Marvel. He will be missed.
R.I.P. Cap. You deserve it.

Sorry for the delay in reading this! I'm trying to play catchup without neglecting my schoolwork! This issue was amazing and, I agree, the best of the Crisis so far! I knew what was coming with the death of CC... didn't make it any easier to read though. Lois Lane logic! ;D Actually, Hal was on his way East to Metropolis! His last thought before TotGLC #10 was: "One thing was for sure, the Corps were out of commission and he couldn’t handle them all himself. He needed help. It looked like a job for..." Obviously he made it to Metropolis where he encountered Lois! See? It's seemless... kinda! You nailed Hal, and not in a naughty way! The way you introduced him as a fearless pilot was awesome... in fact I didn't see that coming! His reaction to Wonder Woman was perfect! He is, or was before his early retirement from the military, a soldier... his superior officer gave him an order, and he responded without hesitation. His humanity the only thing that overrode that while watching the pummeling that CM was enduring. Ultimately, he knew what had to be done and that there are sacrifices that must be made in war-time. Kyle has no idea just what is going to happen to him, nor does he, or anyone, know just how much power he has. I could say more, but why spoil it? All in all, David, this issue was just damn amazing! As usual I am awed by your writing skill!
