Look, I don't want to sound like I'm making excuses.
But I'm going to be honest.
Action Comics has been going under some major troubles recently. With both writers being under extreme pressure due to exams, and a missed deadline last week, this hasn't been the easiest issue to write. In fact, I filled myself full of sugar and water about three hours ago and sat down, and wrote this issue in one fail swoop.
Also, with the absence of DrDread as editor (also due to real life getting in the way), the direction of this book has been questionable of late (I miss you, Doc!). I'm sorry Superman has not been present over the past few months in his own book, we could have done better by you, but I believed in this storyline, so we/i persevered and tried our/my best to get it out.
Anyway, [name redacted] has had to drop out of the writing of this book, as the high profile life of a DC2 writer got in the way with his life, so it's me and Roy for the home straight after this!
I hope you enjoy the issue [when it posts later today], and I hope you take the time to read Roy Flinchum's amazing ESCAPE TO KRYPTON, a back up series he's really pushed the envelope on, and made me appreciate him both as an artist and now an amazing writer.
Anyway, hope y'all are well, I've got some last minute editing to do! If you're bored, go read Doctor Occult #1!

Here is my two cents(Don't steal it Dave, .) I thought that this issue was really worth the wait. The battle between Mteropolis' Fab Four and those military type people was great. It was interesting to see how Lightray was almost defeated, I din't expect that to happen. I was expecting Caesar to really kick his cocky and arrogant ass kicked, but to find out that he comes back and saves Lightray. To me that was priceless. Doomsday challenging the 'Justice League of Earth' was priceless. But I that ass whoopin' going to take place in Justice League title or here in ACTION COMICS? The final part of Escape From Krypton was a great read. I really like the romance between Sawyer and Guardian. To be honest I love romance mixed into everything. The only negative thing about this issue was the typos, I give it five GODDMAN star. This has been the two-cents of the Brain Dead 'Chief Plus if you need an editor, I got a Dragon here that wouldn't mind helping out. All you got to do is ask. Remember Charlie, a closed mouth don't get fed. We are here to help. Just ask.

I was never a big fan of Superman.
Not because he was a "true-blue" kind of hero; after all I like Captain Marvel just fine, and if anything, he's even more that way. But something about the character....just never clicked with me.
As the DCU got slowly darker and less likeable, I still didn't like him. But I understood the need for him.
All of which is to say that when I sat down to read this issue, I knew it was going to be at least mostly Supes-free.
What I got surprised me. Pleasantly, for the most part. Steel I know well, Guardian barely, Lightray is just a name to me and Caesar I know not at all. (In fact I mistook him for a similarly named minor Bat-villain, until I read him here.)
The twist on Doomsday is also particularly clever, as was the use of a certain Doom Patrol scientist (I have to go back and read that miniseries at some point.)
But.....I have to ask this question....are we sure that it's really Superman? And not someone else, and maybe that's why his DNA is all screwed up? Maybe Doomsday (ominous music) Has A Plan?
Either way, I'll be back next month.

Thanks for reading Jay! And pick up next issue, and hopefully some of your questions will be answered! Hopefully, I say, as the finale, which will appear in ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN ANNUAL #1, will wrap up everything you've seen so far!

Doomsday is gonna kick some butt isn't he? Good read, I liked Escape to Krypton. However, I'm alittle surprised that the JLA completely missed the epic battle going on just down the road from their clubhouse... Overall, four and ah half stars rounded up... So yeah, five stars I guess.

this was an interesting read, although most of it honestly felt like a Justice League story, but it didn't stop me from enjoying it. Seeing Clark and needing surgery was something I don't remember reading before, and so that was my favorite part. Roy's story was extremely well done! Kudo's, to the nth degree. You need to do a lot more writing, my friend... as long as it doesn't pull you away from those NO covers. Great job, guys!

I have a lot of time on my hands... and my chores with the WW book don't overwhelm me. I can help if needed.

CKDragon, I like a little helping of romance myself, as closely as Maggie and Harper are working together I thought only natural to give a little hint of maybe there could be something there. Brian, Thanks, I am honored. *cue oninous music and lighting* Careful watch you wish for my friend. MMWWHHHUAAUAUAUAUA!
Big shout out to Charlie for getting me involved with Krypton Square and letting me take it and run with it and for editing me on the fly. Not literally on a fly.....Oh wait a minute!
