This was really a fun read. Among a ton of stuff that was great, I really loved the reference to "the pole". I'm really enjoying your take on many of the characters, but especially Alfred. Something about the way you write him brings a grin everytime. Keep up the good work.
Also wanted to take a second to say that, as always, I enjoyed every cover this week, but this Riddler cover really knocked my socks off!

Heh! I love that cover, very nice indeed... And I probably have a good grasp of Alfred because I based a bit of him on me... The sarcastic side. Also because he's British. Yes, I'll say that.

Thanks guys (about the cover)! XD It was houseofmystery's idea anyway to use the negative space, so props to him too! The story was awesome, I loved the beginning part, it really made you feel the fear criminals were experiencing. The description of Wayne manor really seemed to connect Bruce to the family and his past for that moment, and I really liked it.

Your artwork on your own site is fantastic (Crocko and Tiger! Wow!) and this piece is just another example of how the DC2 always seems to find the best artists around! I like the green...

"Bruce hurriedly puts on the Batman uniform, the grey shit belying promethium Kevlar weave, the most effective body armour known to man."
Was that supposed to be shirt? Just checking.

Chuck… you are truly honing your craft!
This was your best issue to date! It was well paced, easy to follow, and very descriptive without overkill. I could easily tell who was speaking, thinking or not. I was afraid you were making the Riddler just a serial killer/slasher, since there was a lack of riddles… but you pulled it out at the last second there!
I like the characterization of Gordon’s crew. And I’m liking the younger, less screwed up version of Bruce. I’m also glad you went with a sleeker design to the Batmobile, the Tumbler was the one thing in the last movie that I had a problem with.
Loved the line: “Scream for me!” that was GREAT! The comment about the pole was classic too! Can we get the Shakespeare bust added to the Manor as well?
One spot where I was a bit confused… the death certificate with Edward’s name… where did that come from? Did Ed do it? Did Bat’s do it? Was I not paying close enough attention?
The cover was FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC! Detective Bats knocked the ball out of the park with that one!
Keep up the good work Charlie, you’re getting better with every line you write! Best of the week honor goes to you, my friend!

This was an all around fantastic effort! My favorite was the opening bit, especially the dramatic first paragraph--- very evocative! Gordon and his crew were handled very well (let's see more of them in the DC2), and the brief glimpse we get of the Riddler is enough to make the wait for next issue a long four weeks! Great job on the cover, detectivebats! It is extremely visually arresting, and the perfect image of the rogue! We need to get you on more assignments!

Your style's improving, HoM, which I'm glad to see -- you're bursting with ideas, it's just the execution of them that needs practice. Still a couple of muddled spots (the death certificate and revealing Nigma's true identity -- at first I thought you meant he was Arthur Brown) but again, improvement all around. I liked Alfred's "Get me a sandwich" line. ;D Great cover by DetectiveBats -- that green really grabs your eye. BTW Bruce isn't wearing shit anymore, he cleaned it off and put on a shirt, I checked.

Question: Did you prefer the non first person style of The Riddler Part 1, or the first person view of Worlds Finest??

Sorry I haven't read this until now. Great story!! You really have the characterization of a younger Bruce down! And, I don't know if anyone else noticed it, but I really liked the nod to Batman: The Animated Series ("Minotaur" software). And the Riddler burning ?s into people's heads? Wow. All in all, really great story, and I can't wait to read the conclusion!!!

the cover was good.
when batman said "scream for me" i immediately remembered X-Men...when sabretooth says it to storm @ the bus station.
i do think there's been improvement over the earlier issues, tho i agree w/ susan h. thats theres still a lot of room to grow.
