At last, this series is complete!
Please, tell us what you thought of this final issue!

This slam-bang ending did not disappoint! From the desperate last-ditch plan from Wonder Woman and Zauriel to the timely resurrection of Superman, and the final battle with Nekron, I was rivited! And I was actually worried. With the revelation of Zauriel's role in this crisis (little 'c' ), there was the possibility that the good guys might not have won the day after all! My favorite scenes were the Robin/Redwing interactions. So smoothly does our Jason Todd fit into the Bat-mythos, that this feels "more right" than the travesty he's become in the DCU. The Green Lanterns taking out the Black Sun was epic. Hal and Barry riding to the rescue from the speedster space/time relay was mind-boggling cool (although the secret weapon was a bit reminiscent of Superman singing Darkseid to death in Final Crisis). The Ray had a great scene, as did Wonder Woman, who continually shows why she is the best leader of the Justice League. All in all a very satisfying conclusion. Especially the end. Looks like there may be a Apex Predator out there after all...? My only complaint is: no cover. At this point, I was going to read the issue anyway, but I held off commenting until it was complete (and others may be doing the same). Too bad. Five stars, Charlie! Thank you for giving us a DC2 anniversery present and a worthy event-level story!

Finally made it to this final chapter. I really don't know what to say about this. I mean, this final chapter was so focused, so powerful, so magnificant in scale, that I'm going to describe it in one word that I don't believe I've ever used before, but TRULY dserves it: Masterpiece. This really is your Masterpiece, Charlie. You've come so far since I first met you and youo have have SO much to be proud of with this and everything else you've been doing here lately. Bravo! P.S. Next time you decide to eliminate an Outsider... let me know will ya!

This slam-bang ending did not disappoint! From the desperate last-ditch plan from Wonder Woman and Zauriel to the timely resurrection of Superman, and the final battle with Nekron, I was rivited! I'm relieved! This issue was so full, I was worried that little things would get lost in the mix, but all the important stuff is there, and I'm glad Superman's return worked for you. It was fun to tie Ascension into this, and it didn't seem to hit a bump, as I was fearful it was going to. And I was actually worried. With the revelation of Zauriel's role in this crisis (little 'c' ), there was the possibility that the good guys might not have won the day after all! Zauriel has been a blast to write over the length of this series, and I intend to pick up threads with him, probably in Justice League in the new year. I'm hoping that "beneath reality" makes sense now? Ha! My favorite scenes were the Robin/Redwing interactions. So smoothly does our Jason Todd fit into the Bat-mythos, that this feels "more right" than the travesty he's become in the DCU. Phew. Jason Todd is a labour of love across the board for all those who have used him. From the initial introduction to the complete psychosis inducing Dark Knight one-shot that springboarded elements of this event, to the ongoing adventures running through the Bat-books right now, he's becoming a force to be reckoned with. Ramon and I didn't immediately follow up on his threads with a special, as we intended to, but we have been talking a possible mini/one-shot situation. The Green Lanterns taking out the Black Sun was epic. Hal and Barry riding to the rescue from the speedster space/time relay was mind-boggling cool (although the secret weapon was a bit reminiscent of Superman singing Darkseid to death in Final Crisis). Ack, yeah, I was worried throughout the writing process as details of Blackest Night emerged, and Final Crisis hit. "The Word" was another concept that went through so many revisions. Kevin told me to keep it simple, so I did, but there are scenes in my files somewhere with the reveal of what Barry saw-- and who gave him "The Word". There's a whole mythology to the universe that I decided not to include, because, well, it would have been a bit egomaniacal of me. ...Crap, why didn't I do it then?! ;D The Ray had a great scene, as did Wonder Woman, who continually shows why she is the best leader of the Justice League. The Ray was another character, as with Jason and Zauriel, that became something amazing as the series went on. His voice was unique, and I had a lot of fun writing him. Thanks for lending him, Dave! Hope I didn't return him broken! All in all a very satisfying conclusion. Especially the end. Looks like there may be a Apex Predator out there after all...? 2010 My only complaint is: no cover. At this point, I was going to read the issue anyway, but I held off commenting until it was complete (and others may be doing the same). Too bad. Yeah. I know. It's a shame, but Ramon has been doing less and less for the site, so I don't hold it against him. We've got other amazing projects waiting in the wings, so those'll hopefully deliver without a hitch. Five stars, Charlie! Thank you for giving us a DC2 anniversery present and a worthy event-level story! My pleasure, Dave. Thanks for reading.

Finally made it to this final chapter. Thank you! I was really happy to see feedback from Dave and yourself, and I'm kind of bummed that it's been nearly two months and only two people-- though two people whose work and feedback I respect and look forward to!-- have commented. Eh I really don't know what to say about this. I mean, this final chapter was so focused, so powerful, so magnificant in scale, that I'm going to describe it in one word that I don't believe I've ever used before, but TRULY dserves it: Masterpiece. This really is your Masterpiece, Charlie. Thanks, Brian. That means a lot coming from the guy who consitently delivers on the greatest macro-story arc on site. I mean, come on, New Outsiders has been telling one story since #4, we can all tell You've come so far since I first met you and youo have have SO much to be proud of with this and everything else you've been doing here lately. Again, thank you. I'm hoping that my work in 2010 lives up to this story. Bravo! P.S. Next time you decide to eliminate an Outsider... let me know will ya! ...Balls.

Okay, this really is the last issue of the night to be covered after a long time without art-- especially because it's 1am and I want to sleep! I hate the low res logo but it's been years since it was originally designed and it was never saved separately, but such is life! That all said, I really love SamanthaDoodles' art and I'm really chuffed she gave permission for it to be used on the site. Here's to seeing more from her!
