Glad to see Daniel finally get to work on the title. I thought it was a great beginning. Really liked the scenes with Hal and Carol, and it was nice to see the bad guy. Personally, I didn't quite understood Chloe's behaviour, so that bit of the story didn't quite work for me, but apart from that, and having to strain my eyes slightly to read the green text with the particular skin I use, I was really happy with the issue.

I loved this since the first moment I read it! It has the same feel I envisioned when I started writing GL over 3 years ago! Taking the old concept and giving it a new twist. I can't wait to see more Hector Hammond & Mongul! And just what is Chloe playing at... hmmm?
I take it since the backup didn't appear in this issue, it's being held off until the upcoming Green Lantern Annual #1? Or did we just not post it?

I was under the impression that the back-up was being slated for the upcoming annual as it was the last part of this portion of the storyline.
Take care Don

This was a great story from beginning to end! It's great to see Hal back in action, and commend this writer and editor for grabbing some very important loose ends from last summers cross-over and running with them. Here I was worried that Chloe's "condition" was going to slip between the cracks.
Hal was shown wonderfully here, bright, fearless, cocky, a woman's man. (OMG! Is Hal related to Tony Stark?) The character was well written, as was Carol.
Hector is one of my all time favorite villains and I can't wait to see where he is being taken. And Mongul! Woo Hoo!
I think my favorite line in this issue had to be Hal's comment about Mongul meeting Desparo, "The two of you would get along great." Made me laugh out loud.
Very nice cover as well. GL is back in the DC2 world, folks! And I hope he's here for a long time to come!
Thanks for a great read!

Good first issue, Daniel. I hit a few stumbling block here and there with your writing style (a little vague in places, especially when Hal meets up with Carol...I had no clue who he was talking to at first), but all in all, I enjoyed it. Looking forward to next month!

Mongul is one of the villains I *do* know, of GL's, so it was good to see him here, as with Ion. What's more, there was lots of epic super battle here. Wins for me. (I remember the days when I was so much younger and wanted more plot then action....then I was what kind of plots I would end up with. Owch.)
But your character-side stuff was good, too. I want to feel sorry for Chloe, I do. But at this point she needs to realize that being a DEO agent will always carry a certain....hmm....darkness in it?

Awesome job on this issue. Liked how Mongul was the choice villain and hope we find out more about how he wound up on Mars and how GL and Ion are going to take him out.

Welcome onboard Daniel, I've been waiting for this issue for a long time and it did not disappoint! Strong characterisation, well fleshed out villains, and so much potential for future stories! Hal has grown in popularity for me over the years, through the Geoff Johns reboot, the DC2s own, and then the Sinestro Corp war, so you can bet good money that I'll pop back next month some time and read what you got then, and if you're ever bored... Check out Wonder Woman (please)...!

Mongul is one of my favorite GL villains, and I plan to make him a driving force in my run. There is defiantly more to him than meets the eye, and Hal will have his hands full! That is, if he survives this encounter...

A great first issue Daniel. I'm sorry it took me so long to read it. Poor Hal, Cloe lying about the baby is really hard. I'm looking forward to the time he finds out he has a child. Mongul- badass. Next issue's fight will be great now that ION is there, too. I'll definately be back.
Oh, and about that new Testpilot... Cowgirl? Could it be?

Hal will be okay, he's a big boy. I hope the fight lives up to your ideas...and as far as the test pilot...well, you'll find out on Wednesday (I think...). As an aside, I will try to answer any messages left here without spoiling my run. So please, make with the comments people!

Great issue!
It's so cool to finally have a regular writer again on this title (now we just need to get Aquaman in line)! And what a debut: Hal is back in all his cocky, ass-kicking, ring-slinging glory! He's got a big menace facing him, but an ace-in-the-hole (yes! love the ending!)
Please let this be a new era of greatness for the Emerald Gladiator! Let's see some work on the GLCorps storyline, and let Hal return to the place of prominence he deserves in the DC2niverse!
Very impressive debut, indeed!
Awesome cover as well, Steffen! Your style is perfect for GL! Please tell me you are the new regular artist for this title! And if you aren't yet, then everybody needs to join me in begging him to be!

Hi, I'm very proud to see my first cover I produced for the DC2 to finally find it's way back on the screen. GL has always been my favorite and I'd really like to contibute with more covers, but my time is pretty short currently and I have a lot of other projects on my desk right now and my job on the other side... I hope to join you soon again when I have a little more time.

Thanks for the support, and I hope my second issue [shameless plug] which is out tomorrow [/shameless plug] doesn't disappoint... There are plans in the works regarding the New Corps coming up, so stay tuned true believer.

And I for one, having had the luck to see what's coming up in the plans, am excited for both directions, Hal's adventures and the efforts to rebuild the GLC. Should be a great time for Lantern fans here at the DC2U! Take care Don

I promised I would check this out and I was glad I did.
The cover was great Steffan. It reminding me a little of Darwyn Cooke. Maybe that's because I just re-watched the Justice League New Frontier DVD but I liked it none the less.
The story started out a bit rough for me. It was awkward in places with the lack of set up and the dialogue seemed bumpy in places. But as the issue progressed I started to really get into it.
Of course the Chloe scene has already been touched upon here and elsewhere so I won't bring it up again. I do look forward to seeing this fleshed out and a few questions answered. Why would she lie to Hal? Who is she reporting to at the DEO? And who was she talking to in Metropolis?
With Mongul showing up and Hector Hammond not too far behind I think there's some good stuff on the way.
I speak from experience when I say that this is a tough series to come onto as a writer. Scott established a solid backstory that differs slightly from DC while capturing the essence of the Corps and Hal perfectly. In one issue you have already shown that you are more then capable of not only respecting what has gone before but building a new chapter of your own.
This should be a fun ride.
