Mogul and Henshaw? Oh oh!!!!!
Very well written issue. I had a little problem following what happened to Kyle while he has blacked out, but I think that was just me. I'll have to re-read that scene again.

Another great issue, Daniel! Some crazy action, great dialogue between Hal and Kyle, a nice mystery developing with what they found on Mars, and a neat surprise ending (can't wait to see where that one goes)!
Mongul was a great villain, and I can't wait to see where he goes from here! What is the key, and what does Mongul want it?
I thought is was a nice bit of business to tie this into the Black Lightning mini, too. This is the kind of continuity that I favor the most: acknowledge the larger world of the DC2, but do your own kick-butt story with it!
One complaint only: Kyle comes off better in this issue than Hal does, and that's not cool! Hal even lets Mongul get away (albeit for the right reason)... My one request: have Hal kick more butt.
Great cover, too I live the slantwise logo--- makes it seem like an old seventies sci-fi movie), but are the credits right? That looks like Ramon's work to me... Who's Tommy Hariyono? The name sounds familiar; has he done covers for the DC2 before...?
Looking forward to next issue (how could I not with that last scene)!

Thanks for the compliment...one of my goals is to tie this book BACK into the DC2 through little things like that. All your questions re: Mongul (and why Hal let him go so fast) are answered as long as you keep reading, I promise. That is weird about how well Kyle was handling himself in comparison to Hal. Well, Kyle IS housing a bunch of Guardians in his head right now, and they could be feeding him subconsciously on how to fight...and just what is going on with Hal's ring?

YEah, I'm still waiting on Tommy's cover, which hasn't arrived yet. I woke up this morning to find a cover in place actually, which was pretty interesting. Since the first place I stopped at was my gmail and there was this question from Daniel asking why various elements didn't match up with the references he sent Tommy. LOL
I had no clue what he was talking about. I'll change the credits to match the artist, of course.
Take care Don

You know my feelings on this issue already Daniel...
But I'll say it anyway: GREAT ISSUE!
I thought the banter between Hal and Kyle was perfect... very big-brother/little-brother feel to it.
Thank you for Henshaw! I asked for him and I received him... What service! Mongul was fantastic! What's going on with Hector Hammond? Every time I see him talking here he reminds me more of Hector Ramirez from GI JOE & Transformers cartoon than the large-headed/small bodied freak he is! I can't wait!!! Did Hal really let Mongul fly off without consequence?
Indeed Kyle's tale will be told in New Tales of the GLC... as will why he has the Guardians speaking through him. Patience is a virtue! Daniel & I are planning big things for Hal, Kyle and the Corps.
FIVE STARS!

FanFunTastic Issue! This would have been a four star outing, but several things bumped it up to five stars, the first being the exceedingly well written dialogue! Everything between Hal and Kyle was excellent! Makes me wonder what it would have been like if Hal had had a side kick back in the Silver Age. The other couple of things that tickled me were the nods to the DC2 continuity (yeah, I'm a sucker for that stuff). Someone did their research! ;D Oh yeah, and that ending was awesome! Had me screaming, "Wait! Don't stop there!!!" Add another terrific cover, and I'm happy to say that Hal and Company are back! Now... more Chloe???

Don't worry, Chloe will be featured soon...I've got a big flowchart of subplots I introduced in the past 2 issues (too many) and plan to deliver on all (most) of them. I don't actually have a flowchart, but wouldn't that be cool?

Congrats on being the 600th issue posted here at DC2. Not sure if anyone else knew that but I thought it was pretty cool and worth mentioning. This was a fun issue. I loved the cover and the new logo was pretty cool. The issue flowed better here then the last one and read pretty well overall. I liked the banter between Kyle and Hal. A bit over the top at times with Kyle bordering on obnoxious but overall nice characterization. I totally dug Mongul but I felt slightly gypped not being able to see him unleashed as the powerful menace he truly is. Of course there's always next issue right? Along those lines I found it curious that Hal let him so easily. Must be more to that next issue. Poor Hector Hammond. I like how his tale is slowly developing here. Nice nod to the Black Lightning mini from last year too. I am a big continuity guy so its always cool to see the shared universe of DC2 tie together. The Hank Henshaw reveal was a big surprise considering that it could have been someone else more obvious. Now if she ever shows up I can imagine things would get real interesting real fast. I only had a couple of minor problems with the issue. One, the dialogue being a bit forced in my opinion. Not all of it just sprinkles of it here and there where it seemed like you were trying to hard. You know the characters and their voices quiet well and I already see improvement with this over last issue. Just something to keep in mind. The other thing that bugged me slightly was the portrayal of Carol. I have no problem with her thinking that Hank was attractive and charming but the bumbling seemed a bit out of character. Again just a minor thing but one I thought was worth mentioning. Looking forward to seeing what happens next. You really appear to be building up to some exciting things here. Keep up the great work and I will be back.

Keep up the great work and I will be back. Alot here, and all of it very fair. I wanted to establish here that if Hal is the really popular, cool guy, Hank is that guy on crack. He's Aaron Eckert from "Thank You for Smoking", and this is just the first look at this guy. It was just a snapshot of him, but I wanted to convey all of that, hence Carol acting all out of sorts. Maybe over the top, but it was important to create the conflict outside of the professional sphere. This is my first fanfiction monthly, and while I have a tendency to get frustrated, I press on, and the work will improve. I do have big future plans, and I hope I don't kill myself or Hal before I reach them. Thanks for reading!

Well I I believe I am not alone in saying that everyone gets frustrated. We tend to be over-critical of our own work. I have gone back and looked at some of my earlier issues and cringe at some of the mistakes I saw. The key is to not get discouraged. Also remember, just because someone doesn't always like a particulate scene or direction doesn't mean it wasn't done well.
Have fun first and foremost and everything else is bonus.

Another awesome issue. Mongul looks like he is going to be a handful. Also I thought that it was interesting that the ring said that it was reaching 129% after the battle when he was back on Earth. Can't wait to see where that is going. Looking forward to the next installment. Keep up the great work.

Looking forward to the next installment. Keep up the great work. I'll jump in on this one! Hal's ring has been running at that level regularly since issue the end of Tales of the GLC (Hal's origin story saga). The explanation is long and I won't bore you with the details... so if you have a moment, check it out! ALL of it will have relevance in this and future story arcs... www.dc2universe.net/index.cgi?board=stories3
