First of all can I sincerly apologise for screwing up my first site cover. My scanner has bitten the dust the mate whos scanner I was gonna used stayed on his holiday for an extra week and kinda left me screwed. The soonest I can give it to ellen is Friday which I know sucks but still...sorry everyone. On the other hand its an awesome issue. I just love it. Then again anything that has Dick in it and writes him well I love so maybe Im biased. I also like how were seeing a gradual development of Tim into Robin over all the interlocking titles this month.

Things happen. If it weren't for the fact that email servers usually keep copies of sent items, we would have had bigger problems--my hard drive died two weeks ago. Were it not for the fact that I'd emailed you this installment (and rougher drafts to my proofreaders), I would not have had a story to post. Can't wait to see your cover when it's ready. Glad you enjoyed the story!

Great job! *applause*
I loved the whole story... MY heart would be ready, I'm sure, just from reading the story! LOL! I, of course, loved Dick, and am almost equally in love with your take on Tim. Why not equally? (Well, the other's Dick, after all...)
There were a coupla times that it went a bit textbookish-- which seemed slightly out-of-place in the horror-story, fast-paced setting-- but any thoughts about those were quickly pushed to the back burner as I would read the following paragraph.
Dick's greatest fears were well thought-out and written... loved 'em! Also, the Hansel-Gretel bit was cute.
Overall, it's an outstanding job. Simply loved it.

Brilliant. Just brilliant. Well, not just "just" but you know what I mean Ellen. Loved being privy to this story before it posted, and loved it again as I reread it. Loved Dick's fears, and I loved the way Tim came into the role of Robin so fully in this issue. Boy Hostage, indeed I'll be back for whoever's on the next issue, and I hope this high standard is continued. Imari and you have done some fantastic work on this book over the years, and I cannot wait to see that continued.

This is the type of story that when I read it, I'm left feeling envious and in awe. A great story with some major suspense all the way until the end.
I love the fact that Tim is learning, and not just an immediate pro. But what you really hit on is that Tim is a detective, and it was those skills that really shown here.
Yet, that last scene with Dick in the study. Powerful. There was no other word to describe it. Powerful.
Once again I am in awe of your talent. I, too, give a standing ovation to this issue.

I was really trying to avoid making Dick a patsy who couldn't get out of a bind that a 13-year-old newbie could manage. At the same time, he had to be trapped and Tim had to be competent... Thankfully, it all came together!

A thought just occurred. If the fates or God allowed for Ellen and Brian to co-author a story together? Okay I'll pick up my jaw at my own thoughts... sorry just a random thought.

Well, I'm working on a collaboration with someone else, totally unrelated... it's not impossible to do. It's just tricky to mesh styles.

Wow! An instant classic here! As always, this was filled with great moments, but the highlights were Dick's halucinations. You actually had me going for a bit with the first one: I thought I missed a crossover somewhere! Tim is stepping up to the job nicely, though he still has that appropriate newbie hesitation.
I am curious, though: how long will Dick be holding the twin roles of Nightwing and Batman? Will this title eventually fold, or just keep going on as "the third Batman book" as it has been for the past couple months?

Oh, I DO love fooling people! ;D Glad you liked! As far as the book goes, there are no plans to scrap the title. For me, 'Nightwing' is kinda the shorthand for 'Adventures of Dick Grayson, Hero at Large', regardless of costume. (To be honest, I think I'd be pushing for a namechange if someone other than Dick was the featured hero...) That's my view and I realize not everyone shares it, btw. But eventually, he WILL be back in his old suit.

Creepy wrap-up to a creepy (and quite frankly, nauseating) villain. The solidification of the Dick-Batman Tim-Robin partnership was well-written and endearing. I like that Tim did not panic on his first outing and first blunder but was going to do everything he could to get to Batman. Once again, outstanding job.

Great issue! Really shows what these stories can be, and gives me something to live up to.
5 stars, to say the least.
