The only thing that has ever really interested me about this character is the duality between Banner and the Hulk, and the fact that you actually have them able to communicate with each other, even subconsciously, is frackin brilliant!

That, I guess, was a continuation of the metatexual layering I have going on in certain books I write. I pushed that with The Question, and his constant interaction with his Id, Ego and Superego in the guise of all the interpretations of his character (Rorschach. for example) and it just seemed right to continue that theme here.

I'm not sure if this is something he can do easily though. You have to acknowledge that Bruce was being heavily drugged, so consciousness and subconsciousness were blending together... But we'll see where it goes in the next few issues.

I had to use him. Come on. It's like not using the Mandarin in Iron Man...

I'll tell you why: Bruce Banner. The Bruce you write, Charlie, is haunted and creepy and sympathetic in more ways than I can list.

This is a HULK book where I'm anxious for the action to be over just so we can return to the phenomenally written psychological stuff.

The build-up of Hulk in Bruce's mind, the tangled web of his brain, everything, is handled so brilliantly that I'm entranced, and feel actual sorrow for him.

The sorrow continues in the next few issues. The Oklahoma incident (from the opening of #1 and mentioned throughout the book) is about to come under the greatest amount of scrutiny, because... Well. The hints are dropped in #4!

The Leader is a bit of a conundrum to right. It depends on how I'm feeling when I write him. There's one moment I'm quite happy with in #4, you'll be able to tell when you read it. I'll persevere to make him someone you love to hate in #5 of Iron Man!

I also liked the choice of villains you guys used. You have to have that particular foursome fight the Fantastic Four. That'd be awesome.

Yeah, I was looking for someone I could use that would be a major threat. They're laying low in #4, but Iron Man #5 they'll be baaack...

Though, I was trying to be more subdued in my writing of it. You'll see what I mean *maybe* when you read it. Lol. Enough talk...
