Next issue has some major revelations, and it will answer any lingering questions.

Wow... What's this all about?
Say what you will about the plot (or lack thereof) or story (still haven't figured it out yet, as Charlie is channeling his inner Grant Morrison again)--- this was still a compelling read, with some of the most melodramatic imagery yet seen at the DC2. I couldn't look away.
Who is this mysterious stranger who so easily massacres the League (any hints, Charlie--- have we seen him eleswhere?), why did Superman hold himself aloof from the fight when two of his teammates were killed--- and how in the name of all that is sane and holy can even an armored Batman withstand a punch from the Last Son of Krypton, especially when Kal-El is playing for keeps?!?
Nice set-up. Let's hope #2 delivers!

I've never read anything from the Elseworlds, but since this week there were two of them and the great DC2 Illustrated doesn't open at it's greatest, I decided to read something from this. So, I chose "VERSUS" because the title caught my attention and it was short.
I loved it! I read it slowly, and the story was just great. I think I know who the man is, but I' think I might be wrong. Happy that the Flash didn't died here (or did he?)

Happy that the Flash didn't died here (or did he?) It was short because the way it was set out would have revealed too much at the present time, and this gives you guys and gals a month of conspiracy time... Why are Batman and Superman fighting? Who is the villainous man who fell from the sky? And is The Flash dead? All these questions will be answered (I know this for sure because I was up till 2 last night writing it *yawn*) and I hope it pays off for you... And the conclusion is going to be big, I promise.

Is the naked menace who fell from the sky suppose to be a mystery? I was pretty sure his identity was revealed and confirmed a couple of times. Since i am not sure I won't say.
I wasn't able to really get into this elseworld tale. I did enjoy your writing Charlie, just not sure if I enjoyed what you wrote. There is no denying the passion you put into everything you do which is enjoyable to see. Maybe this type of story wasn't for me? I am willing to hold off final judgment till the pay-off in the next issue.

I just read Versus Charlie, and I gotta say, I'm on the edge of my seat waiting for the next one. I haven't racked my brain this hard trying to figure out who this "red-haired" menace was since Infinite Crisis and all of their surprises. I'm definately waiting to see the conclusion.

I wrote it. I wrote the entire story out, had over a dozen pages of hand written work, and then I typed it all up, and before I sent it to Doc, my one true editor ... My computer broke down. I lost everything. And do you know how soul sapping that is, when you've spent a good couple of hours writing something down by hand and then another good few hours deciphering your own handwriting and adding stuff you hadn't thought of before, only for it all to vanish? Huh. Not that long a story after all. I'll rewrite it up one day... And you can see the other half of that marvelous DrDread cover! And maybe another "Versus" series we planned.... It's a big ol' cosmic story with the whole universe at stake! I think Scott and Ramon would have liked it...

That's happened to me in the past...I know how that feels...This is where you hire a violinist to play behind you as you realize you've lost hours of your life and creativity...
But on the plus side, maybe you'll be able to add in even more great ideas that you may not have thought of while revising your first drafts...Kinda sucks tho.

Soon: A point on a timeline that ranges anywhere between "five minutes from now" and "sometime before the Earth becomes a burned-out cinder orbitting a dead sun."
