There was just something off for me about this issue, and I don't know what. Wally, even in his grief, saying Jay's name was a big no-no. How long did it take the Titans to get to New York and then for Wally to get back? It didn't take long for them to release newspapers about Jay's death, did they? I was also surprised at how Deathstroke was like the Midnighter in this (not a bad thing, but it just cements the DC2 awesome of this incarnation) and the visualisation of the fight was awesome. The characterisation was great and we're at last getting some resolution to Roy's whole asshole problem he's had going for a couple of issues, and Dick's back on top! One thing that could have been defined clearer was what told Dick they were being watched. It wasn't clear to me. But apart of the niggly feeling that something was slightly off in this issue, well done Mark! I'll stick around for the next issue... Or I'll go read New Outsiders!

This is without a doubt my favourite comic here and again I have had so much pleasure in reading it. I love the fact that every story line they nearly always die (or at least one of them nearly does). It shows how they really arent ready to become the next Justice League (althought I guess the JL arent ready to be the next JL either). I just love the realistic nature of it. Also Im interesting in writing for this and I will mention it to Idlewilder again but Id like to get in contact.
P.S Love the feel of the Deadpool nature of Deathstroke quoting popular culture. You are the weakest link.... Thats so Raven.... Love it!

I didn't like that personally, I don't feel that Deathstroke would be jokey, and using "That's so Raven"? ouch. Come on.
Legacy, I don't understand your Justice League comment, because the first issue of Justice League was so amazing!

MAN I LOVE THE COMIC!!!!! Dont get that wrong I was just saying how the Titans arent preapared to be a big league team like the JL and I then retconned that by saying the Justice League arent really ready to work as a team either....they only barely managed to win....infact they really didnt, they got a pretty big helping hand. lol! Now thats why I love it beacuse noone is a perfect hero who can do anything they want by themselves.

Good isse I liked it. I like the tie in to NO here.
In recent issues of this title I have felt that Roy's drug abuse was being mishandled. Junkies don't actively think "oh im gonna drugs cause i had a bad life" they lie to themselves and believe thety are just having a good time. This is not related to this issue just pointing that out in case you are gonna follow up on that sub-plot.
This issue, good job Mark!

And by the way “Holy signaling device,”: ruined it a little for me. Please dont write these bits for Nightwing. Not being mean just trying to give crits, it seemed really out of context of where the story was in a sense of realism and maybe DC2 Robin may have said that (although I hope not) Nightwing I really cant see saying that.

I also feel there was something a bit off... I can't really put my finger on it. The mind-battle with Slade was well-excecuted, and everything after that was very good, especially the introduction of the Joker plotline.
I have to agree, though, about Slade saying "That's So Raven".... that was just horrible.
Telling Roy he was the weakest link... Eh, I could take it or leave it, as there is nothing intrinsically pop culture about those words, unlike the comment to Raven.

I loved the fight that Deathstroke (NOT SLADE...here we use codenames lol.) imagined. I was sitting there going how are they gonna survive that thinking...wait didnt they just kill Roy well he cant be dead so I bet the writer is gonna decided a sword cant kill him and I was really thinking it was bad writing coz I couldnt come to terms with my favourite team dying then you find out it wasnt real and I nearly shouted YES!
basically it was cool

I have to give a shout out to Mark on this one, for writing this issue in less then forty-eight hours while trying to finish his editing job for both NO and LOSH. I think he did a terrific job and a huge thanks for picking up the ball and taking it to the end. As for Deathstrokes comments, I wish I had a better memory, so I could tell you what issue # it was, but at one point during a battle in Wolfman/Perez's run of The New Teen Titans, Slade quipped, "Where's the beef?" referring to the old Wendy's add. So I don't think the pop culture references were that out of character. Great job, Mark, and thanks for making sure this title was out on time and stayed true to what the previous writer and I had begun.

Thanks, everyone (especially Legacy who's probably spent longer reviewing it than I did writing it), for the comments and criticisms (most of which I agree with, by the way). I'll bear them all in mind for next issue.

Deathstroke is a little too overconfident in how easy it would be for hm to kill the Titans.
But I have a sneaking suspicion I know who Slade called...that would be very bad, indeed.
And is Joker allied with the Royal Flush Gang?!? Oh man, that is Bad News.....

Othere essential reading for this story is Nightwing #1 and Detective #1-#3. I think, someone correct me if I am wrong. Deffinetly gonna want to read New Outsiders though and Nightwing...and Tec. ;D

I came over to check out a title I honestly fell way behind on a long time ago. After reading New Outsiders #11 I had a sneaking suspicion that these two issues would end with the same scene so I am certain that the x-over is finally on. I am curious as to why there was no advertising that the two titles linked this month?
On to the story itself. I was pretty impressed overall, even more so after seeing that Mark pitched in at the last minute to write it. I wasn't at all bothered by the pop culture references made by Deathstroke considering he said them in his head. Don't we all sound just a little cooler and funny inside our own heads?
This was a nice set-up issue and I eagerly await the two teams working together to take on Joker and the Royal Flush Gang!

After reading New Outsiders #11 I had a sneaking suspicion that these two issues would end with the same scene so I am certain that the x-over is finally on. I am curious as to why there was no advertising that the two titles linked this month? The reasons we didn't advertise the crossover were: (a) We thought it would be cool if it came as a surprise to the readers. (b) It might have possibly dragged extra readers in, but then they might have ended up disappointed that the other team only turned up at the end of this month's issues. (c) It might have frightened away Teen Titans readers who don't have access to New Outsiders, either because they're just lurkers rather than registered members, or because their age or reading preferences prohibit them from checking out a Mature Readers book (or maybe they've not yet figured out where to get the password from, in which case they can ( CLICK HERE to be taken to the New Outsiders password request thread). Anyway, I should just mention that such readers have nothing to fear since we've hopefully planned it so that, while they crossover, TT and NO can both be read independently of each other (although reading both titles, and therefore both sides of the story, should hopefully make for a richer reading experience). Oh, and thanks for the comments about the story, John. And while I'm here, thanks also to Ramon for the excellent cover.

Loved this issue!
All due respect to the regular writer, but this one was a joy to read, flowed beautifully and left me wanting more.
Personally, I loved the fact that Nightwing quipped. Dick Grayson is the prince of quips, the "quipmaster" of the DCU, if you will. I really haven't followed his adventures as Nightwing past his Wolfman/Perez NTT run, but I do know that fans have grumbled that he is rarely in-character. Quipping is in-character for Dick, whether as Robin or Nightwing.
Deathstroke was in perfect over-confidant, insouciant form. His quipping was also not out of place, and indicative of the threat he takes the Titans for--- but I did like his bit about why he didn't kill them. I like it when this character is played with a bit of moral ambivalence--- I could almost see (sometimes) Slade Wilson playing on the other team.
The fake-out scene was awesome. I read it with my mouth open.
This issue opened up a lot of questions: what happened to Raven, what's the deal with Titans Tower (YES! Finally!), how will Starfire and Barbara react to each other...
Two favorite bits: Barbarella and broccoli. Well done on both, mark!
Ramon, that cover was magnificent!
This was a five star effort all around!

Thanks, David. Glad you liked it.
Also, since I don't seem to have mentioned it here so far, a special thanks to Brian for agreeing to edit this at such short notice.
