A fantastic ending to an excellent and epic arc! As always, your action and fight sequences are smooth and easy to follow, no matter how many different people you manage to get involved. All of the defeats of the villains were wonderfully poetic, perfect justice dolled out =D very fitting for Justice League. And what always makes me laugh and smile and enjoy are the little character moments that you throw in-- Ralph's swear jar, and Kit's sunglasses. Fantastic work, and a joy to read.

Excellent issue! You've really got me intrigued with the growing relationship between Hawkman & Hawkgirl. Blue Jay's moment was "edge of the seat". I loved Atom's line when he came out of the machine. Ro is an awesome villain and probably my favorite part of this entire run. Wonderful use of a rich history that David had started. Hope to see more Thangarian shinannigans in the future. Five stars, my friend! And another top notch cover by the great Roy Flinchum! Looking forward to what's next for the League!

I'm glad this issue opened with Ray and Jay - their growing friendship is a great part of what you're doing with this series and always fun to watch it be explored further. I loved the abstract nature of the internet as well - very inventive, one of the hallmarks of reading your work. The end of that scene was really heartwrenching, it was captured perfectly and really lead well into the rest of the issue.
Chapter Two picks up from another highlight of last issue, and I've been looking forward to seeing some kick-ass action and Lord knows you delivered on it. Hawkman and Martian Manhunter are both badass in their own ways, here.
Chapter Three was equally thrilling, I like how you take full advantage of the panorama of powers available to these characters and of course, I'm an easy mark for Bruce Lee so that's a great treat.
Chapter Four brings more of Superman and Mon-El and more epic throwdowns. I like how you're able to bring a challenge to Superman without making it seem like you're purposfully depowering him for the sake of a story - he's up against a great deal here, which helps to enhance the story and the Overmaster as the big bad.
Chapter Five and the first half of Six make for a great cooling off period after three chapters of action, Ralph is a delight and always good for some comic relief. I loved the image of him hanging his head over Batman, as well as the idea of the swear jar. Batman and Wonder Woman's reactions are pitch perfect as well. Very well handled all around and of course the second half of Six continues the relentless action spread of the issue, their storming of the ship is great and well choreographed, especially given the amount of bodies you're moving around the field.
I loved the Hawkman/Kanjar Ro battle - which seems to work on both a physical and philosophical front, which is a nice twist.
The final chapter was equally thrilling, and continues the great use of the disperate powers the team affords you. It's clear this line-up was well thought out. The Atom's attack on Shatterfist was perfectly logical and seemingly effective, Superman truly feels like the powerhouse he is, all the more given what he overcame earlier this issue, as does Wonder Woman.
The origin of Nightfall is quite interesting, a nice twist and not at all what I was expecting, so my hats off to you.
The ending was great and worked perfectly with the story, it really was the perfect ending.
I liked the somber tone of the Epilogue as well, it really brought everything they just went to to a complete close and leaves me really excited to see where you take the series next.
All in all a great issue as usual, it was a pleasure to read it, so much so that I've gone through and reread most of the chapters at least twice if not more.
Roy's cover once again is great as well, fits a lot of action into one image without overwhelming the reader. A great job as well!

The ending of Blue Jay was both heroic and sad. Ray Palmer fighting for Jean... for Ellie... that was beautiful.
After 3 issues of the JLA being behind the loop and completely overwhelmed by their enemies, it was nice to finally see that they were taking control of the situation. Persuader being handled by Katar was a cool, Matrix-esque moment that was very well written. I could easily visualize the action and it was awesome.
Even though there were many sad endings in this issue, I like that there were some hopeful beginnings too. New heroes in the DC2, and hope for these alternate universe refugees. And of course, Mon-El will be waiting in the Phantom Zone...
This was a long issue, and long ones risk being rushed in the end or drop in quality due to writer's fatigue, but this thing stayed true and strong to the end. Nice work.

We're we are at the end of this epic, and the League's first year, and I was so thrilled to get to write that. I'm glad the story held up for you, DL, over the four issues and over this double-sized entry. The combination of sadness and hope, mourning and triumph is a mark of truly epic stories, so I'm glad it seemed deserved, and that the characters struck home with the readers in general. That's the only way the story can succeed on these kinds of notes.
Here's hoping you stick around to see how these new heroes develop; how Ray and Jean's relationship pans out, and the fact that Jay and Ellie aren't forgotten; to see some of the other big events in the lives of our Leaguers of all sizes and statures; and in the midst of all that is a great three parter from Susan that brings us into the past and Weird Western Quarterly as well. There are ramifications from this story that continue to bedevil the League through the next 13 issues of the series, so please continue to read, and I'll leave the lights on for you.
Take care Don
