I stopped reading about... Two issues ago? I didn't leave feedback before, relying on the early proofs you sent to my inbox every now and then, and my God, did I kick myself for stopping. I want you to be writing a mainstream DC2 book! I want you to write Detective! This was amazing! The ending... Oh my God, wow. It was beautiful. That's all I can say about your work, Ellen. BEAUTIFUL Thanks, Charlie! Like I've said before, I don't have the time (or multitasking talent, for that matter) to write two titles a month and meet deadlines. (JLA vs A #2 was written at a point where I already had the next 3 issues of this story written and ready.) Really glad you're enjoying!

I I want you to write Detective! Boy you know how to make someone feel good about themselves, Charlie. Seriously, if you were to ever consider it Ellen, I would be more then happy to turn the title over into your WAY better and capable hands.

Not 'till Lost is finished. Probably not even then... but at least once Lost wraps, there'd be a possibility. I'm not thinking that far ahead, though...

Another fantastic installment. There was so much in this one that I loved that I don't know where to start. Joker was a treat and his comment about combining the the most boring of bat and bird made me chuckle out loud.
Both Tommy and Arkham's protection of Bruce gave both characters another great layer and peek into the comlexity of their characters. Nice touch.
Batman, "I love you."
Oracle, "I love you too." Christmas came early for me at that moment. ;D
And speaking of Christmas, that was my favorite scene in this chapter. Very touching. The Poison Ivy thought made me laugh out loud as well. Good one.
Tim saddens me, but as a writer I can see the logic in this young characters reaction. I do hope that he comes around, someday.
The only quibble I have (and I feel horrible even saying that I have a quibble at all since I'm an avid fan of you and this series) is that the break-out seemed to be rather quick and ended suddenly. But that was my own misconception. I was expecting some big brawls, but that's not what this story is about, it's about the people, the heroes. And it's the reason that I'm always inspired to write as soon as I finish one of your issue's.
Five stars my friend. And Ramon, oh forget it, I'm getting tired of telling you about your genius in your work. But man, you got it in spades!

Another fantastic installment. There was so much in this one that I loved that I don't know where to start. Wow! I am SO glad! Of all the Bat-rogues who don't canonically know Bruce's secret, Joker is the most likely to not only know that it's not Bruce but know who it IS... Thanks! At the end of the day, Jeremiah isn't a villain. He's a small-minded, bureaucratic control freak who spends the majority of his day shut in with a few dozen people who would love to kill him, and a few hundred others who would probably buy popcorn and watch. Be that as it may, he does have his patients' interests as heart. Hush, on the other hand, would cheerfully slit Bruce's throat... if he didn't have a certain threat hanging over his head. So, he'll save Bruce but he'll do it in the most uncomfortable way possible. lol! Thank-you! He makes an appearance next chapter, but it won't be all you're hoping for. It won't be all you're dreading, but it won't be quite what you want. Exactly. The fights are part of it, but the purpose here was to show one cardinal difference between Bruce and Dick: When something happens to let all the loons out of the Asylum, Bruce tries to take them all down a la Knightfall. Dick calls in every ally he can. Bruce's results: A lot get back to Arkham, but Bruce is spread so thin that he falls... and it's on the successors to take down the last of escapees. Dick's results: Worst of the lot back in their cells in a matter of hours. Some second-stringers still at large, but nothing the cops can't handle on their own. At some point, Bruce is going to run that comparison... <blush> Thanks!

Pardon my late reply. Been busy with a number of things.
Overall reaction: AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!
Small points:
Joker's dialogue was spot on.
Yes, Dick is a better Batman than Bruce. But then, I've known this long before I started reading this story.
Jeremiah had his head stuck too far up his own (expletive) to be a villain. But Bruce *did* have his red flags up too readily.
How is it going to go wrong? Firefly, that's how.

Pardon my late reply. Been busy with a number of things. No... really? Life > fanfiction? ;D No worries! I humbly acknowledge the assistance of the Wing-Nuts site admin (ok, I'm one also but he's the first!) Will Moore who looked it over and made suggestions. It's fair to say that they've got different styles and different methods. Bruce has this urge to stop the baddies himself. Dick has this urge to stop the baddies... Very true! And soon... See ya in October!

Haven't posted here in a while, but I have been reading, I swear! Just wanted to drop in and say that I found the bit with Arkham and Bruce locked in the office surprisingly enlightening, and the Christmas scene was very touching.
The end is in sight for Bruce's stay at Arkham...which means the trial looms large in his future. Now that's scarier than a come-on from the Joker any day!

I'm really glad the office scene caught your eye. Bruce WILL be getting out of Arkham soon... but... well... you'll see...

Bruce will be out of Arkham cuz there ain't any Arkham anymore.
The fanboy in me wants to protest that somebody, anybody, should've done their detective work on the fires that Garfield was setting. But then, if they had, there'd be no dramatic plot point, now would there be?
All the family stuff, was great. Now, of course the bits with lil Helena is awesome, and the Bruce-Dick scenes are brilliant. And the Gordon scene. And and and....so I'll just make two points here:
First, until Bruce realizes that he made the same caliber of mistake, if not type, with Stephanie that Dick made with Blockbuster and Tarantula, Tim doesn't have to give him time of day.
Second, the best scene was Babs manipulating him into cooking!
Edit: Oh, and if Bruce was annoyed by Dick's undearge fooling around with Babs, obviously he didn't do the math on Dick's time with Kory!!!

Bruce will be out of Arkham cuz there ain't any Arkham anymore. Well, yes. But the last time Arkham was destroyed, everyone got shipped to Blackgate. Good point. Though Garfield was smart enough to practise on condemned buildings, places with lapsed fire insurance policies, etc. Thanks! As some people know, I'm aunt to a 14-month-old whom I don't see as often as I'd like to. (She's in New Jersey. I'm in Toronto) The last time I saw her, she was 8 months old. I will say that Helena is modeled on her... I think Bruce does know. To his mind, what he did was inexcusable and unforgivable. Therefore, he makes no excuses and asks no forgiveness. Unfortunately, that makes it LOOK like he's not remorseful. Ohhhhhh, I had fun with that one! (And the recipe really IS that easy!) Thanks for the Feedback!

Eww touchy feely I know the tone of this series by now. It's not about a man's personal war on crime, it's about a family, though the "main" character sometimes forgets that. He sometimes becomes the fanatical leader of his own little army, but his friends, his family, they bring him down from that, they remind him that he's human, and not... "The Batman." I like it about this series. Though near half way, I was getting irritated by the cooking lessons, I was enjoying Helena's interaction with Bruce, and I'm gathering that she's his? And not Sam Bradleys? Loved the peak into the Harrier's life, but I realised that this, like Starman, one of my all time favourite series of all time ever of all time, is the story of a person, with a dash of superheroics thrown in. Firefly's little scheme was... F'd up, to say the least, and I hope that Batman gets there in time! All in all, a strong issue, as ever, and it's times like these I want you on an in-continuity Bat-book again... Maybe one day I'll get my wish granted But until then, this series continues to please on a level I never thought it could!

Eww touchy feely Sowwy... That's one way to look at it! For me 'conflict' can be external and physical (in the sense of the 'personal war on crime') but it's more interesting when it's internal and mental/emotional. And that's one arena Bruce just isn't good with. I'm leaving it open-ended. As explained in an earlier chapter, three days before Bruce was arrested, he and Selina were together. The night after Akins announced Batman's identity at a press conference, Selina was emotionally at loose ends and... er... found comfort with someone else. She never cared to find out which party was the biological father. As far as she's concerned, she wants it to be Bruce, but she doesn't care to confirm it. And, when you think about it, Bruce is probably the last person to set large store by blood ties, given that virtually his entire 'family' is with him by choice/adoption. High praise, indeed! I'm honored! or a flaming disaster... So does he... Talk to me again in about 3 months... Thank you kindly!

I had to read this issue twice, because to be honest, I was a bit unsure of my reaction to this one. It was, however, on my second reading that I realized how developed this world is that you have created. How, so three-dimensional each one of the characters are. How truly human you make them.
You have humanized Bruce Wayne in such a complex and yet logical way that it really has become jaw dropping in its entirety. I realize that you are not finished, mind you, but where you started with Bruce when this story began three years ago, and where he is now. It's absolutley breath taking.
And not just Bruce, but all of the "family". If there is ever an argument that Bruce/Batman does have his own family, this is the proof that he does, when it is done right.
Human emotions are always changing, never the same from one day to the next. This is something you've been showing us from the beginning, and was epitomized in the scene between Tim and Dick. Like every one, Tim's attitude, feelings, and emotions have already began to change as time has gone on.
This issue had some of the best interpersonal moments in both series combined. It's the reason I am now, as I was three years ago, totally in awe of your talent. Your story is fascinating, no doubt, but your humanization of these long established heroes is second to none. Bravo!
As always, I will be back!

I had to read this issue twice, because to be honest, I was a bit unsure of my reaction to this one. Nail-biting commences... Phew! Well... they've BEEN human to me for a very long time. Fictional, sure, but no less real for all that. Thank you. All I can say is that it felt right. (blush) Thanks again! I'm drawing on some personal pain, here. I lost my grandmother over a year ago, but she was suffering from Alzheimers for about 5 years prior. I couldn't handle it and... like Tim, I withdrew. And I felt guilty. Let's just say I've been projecting. I am blushing so ferociously, I think I must look like a tomato! Thank-you! Same time next month?

I think this was one of the best issues yet. Yes, Charlie, it was touchy-feely, but it was a good sort of touchy-feely. The Bruce-Helena stuff was priceless, as was the cooking scene (unlike bruce, I saw what Babs was doing from a mile away!), and once again, seeing Cass here makes me wish that they hadn't f'ed her up over on "New Earth" if ya get me. I did briefly forget that Tim was now Harrier, though. Definitely comin' back for more, as always.

I think this was one of the best issues yet. Thank you! Uh-huh! I'd initially planned for the visit to be a short part of the chapter, but... it grew. And I found that I didn't want to make many cuts. As far as continuity, this AU started during the Countdown to Crisis, shortly after Sacrifice. Once Bruce got arrested, Tim and Cass returned from Bludhaven to lend assistance. So, Chemo still fell on BH but our heroes weren't there. Cass never went looking for her mother, and thus never encountered the Nyssa and the League of Assassins and never shifted allegiances. (She never learned Navajo code-talking either, but everything has its drawbacks. ) No worries. You won't see him in costume again in this story, IIRC. Cool! There'll be some tomorrow!

Well quite frankly Babs, I still think maybe that cold calculating SOB doesn't DESERVE anything other than a card. If that.
That said, it was a clever twist with Two-Face, and some good characterization of the inmates. And yes, Lynns is an idiot.
Good stuff as always!

I dunno, some might say that 18 months in Arkham, being unmasked, losing his father figure, and ending up in critical condition in an emergency room MIGHT be enough suffering. To each their own though.
Thanks for the FB!
