GENERAL RULES
1. Civility and respect to other members and staff are at all times expected.
2. It is okay to disagree and debate, but don't let it get personal. There's nothing wrong with intelligent (or even heated) discourse, but at the end of the day, we're all just fans and should be united in our mutual interests.
3. Zero tolerance for trolls. We welcome all people and viewpoints, but anyone posting inflammatory comments intended solely to instigate will be banned and their posts deleted, without appeal.
4. Any actions or comments that don't necessarily warrant banning will be adjudged by the admin, and the offending member will be issued a warning. Any further transgressions may result in banning.
5. The Fan Art forum is open for anyone and everyone to share their art with the community.
APPLYING, SUBMISSIONS AND DEADLINES
1. Any member may apply to write a continuity title, and all openings on continuity titles will be posted to the Openings for Writers board. Simply PM your intentions to the admin (MarkyMark261), including a proposal of the story or arc you wish to write, and a sample of your writing (no more than 2 pages).
2. Title assignments will be decided based upon applicant's talent, title availability and continuity considerations. Ultimately, it is admin's (or the editor otf the title's) discretion.
3. A writer may remain on a title as long as they wish, as long as they maintain quality and continuity, and produce issues in a timely manner. Should an issue not have appeared two months after its deadline (e.g. a monthly title has not appeared in three months), then, at the editor's discretion, the title will once again be opened up for other writers.
4. Any writer planning to leave a title, should inform their editor so that details of an opening can be announced on the Openings for Writers board.
5. Solicits for the writer's designated issue(s) are due to the appropriate editor at least a month in advance of the issue's release date. Solicit's are the writer's responsibility and are mandatory. They may be a two to three sentance blurb, but plese no more than a paragraph.
6. The guidelines for writing an Elseworlds title are far more liberal. As these stories will occur outside of DC2 continuity, there will be no queue, but the application process is the same.
7. Proposals for new titles will be accepted and duly considered under the same guidelines. However, we will only be accepting proposals for established characters of the DCU--- no original characters at this point.
8. Titles will be due in to the appropriate editor no later than two weeks prior to the release date. The editor will be concerned with typographical errors, monitor content for profanity, co-ordinating with the art director for cover art, and check for continuity problems. The editor may advise and suggest regarding anything else, but any changes are at the discretion of the writer.
9. New releases are posted on Wednesday.
10. For staff artists, new issues will be available to you two weeks prior to release. You must have at least a rough outline of a cover illustration submitted to the art director one week prior to the title's release, and a fully executed picture submitted 48 hours prior (12:01 A.M. Monday), to give the AD time to convert the illustrations to cover format and for insertion into the issue.
11. The Official Galleries forum is for staff artists to present illustrated scenes from past or present issues of their choosing, submitted to the AD and posted anytime. These can be B&W, sketches or full-blown color panoramas. These images, however, will be considered just as much in continuity as the written scene, so the AD screening will be critical.
