Nice one! Easy on the eyes, great set up (enough exposition to keep me sated!) and great excecution! Five stars Arc! I enjoyed reading about Batman and Batgirl, and the hints to their real identities (not many, but I think I might know who Batman is, and therefore Batgirl by default) and the "paid" comment really piqued my interest! We should get you on an ongoing Bat book, Jay! This is great stuff! Really compliments your current Catwoman arc in Batman!

Thanks, Charlie.
Originally I was going to leave the revelation that Batman was not Bruce until the end, but instead it was decided to let people guess who he was.
As for a Batman book, I'm flattered. But I've started work on Squad and Titans, not to mention the fact that Resistance is now ongoing (could somebody besides Idlewilder read # 5, please? :/ ), my parts of Challenge, and helping John with his GL run, I'm kinda swamped at the moment....

I read T:R#5, I just forgot to post in the lettrcol. Really, I did! Great stuff here. A different approach from what we usually see for these characters with the corporate espionage and all. A Batman that uses guns and isn't afraid to kill? Normally, my first reaction would be "Hell no!" but this is working well here -- it's not excessive, over-the-top violence, but rather well-balanced. A lovely change of pace from the norm...but that's what Elseworlds is all about! ;D Going by the premise, I thought I'd read a few paragraphs and get bored with it, but that certainly wasn't the case. Thanks for the nice surprise, and I'll see you in 30!

Thanks, Susan! I would never have the in continuity Batman act this way; as I recently said about Miller's all-star Batman, if the "real" Batman acted that way I would flip out. But he isn't, and as you've seen, he isn't even Bruce at all. Thanks for reading, and it's never too late to comment on Resistance, either!

This new series is another example of why this writer is a master of the Elseworlds paradigm. A workd that is familiar enough to suck us in, but with situations different enough to intrigue!
Loved this first issue! I hadn't even intended to read it (as I've said before, I'm just not that interested in Batman), but I am a Luthor fan (and, I admit, I thought I might catch a glimpse of my long-absent-from-the-DC2 Man of Steel), and this brave new world captured my imagination.
My favorite scene, of course, was the end when Batman and Bruce Wayne meet (Huh?!?), and like Charlie, I think I know who Batman must be--- but how the heck did that happen? And will we see more unexpected faces in familiar masks?
I will definately be back for next issue!

"Master of Elseworlds" ...Wow. Is it THAT obvious who Batman is? Sheeesh. Well, I can promise that by the end of issue # 3 you will at least learn WHY it happened. As for new faces in old masks, well, sort of. Next issue we briefly meet Batgirl's Strike Force. I'm pretty sure you can guess who they are generally, but the specific roster might have some surprises. Also next issue we get to see a new take on a pair of foes; not who they are, but how their dynamic works. Another Bat character I'm fond of makes a costume-less appearance in # 3. Also thanks to Roy for riding in to the rescue on that cover!

Nice twist, I think I know who Batman is...
I liked the set up, and the changes in how Batman operates. I like this story a lot, to be honest I'm not a big fan of Resistance, but that's mostly because I'm not much of a fan of Terra or Tim Drake, I like your writing in it though. But this story, and your take on Catwoman in the Batman title are both really good.

Wow, as I was reading I just kept asking questions. I realize this is an elsworlds, but I guess I just wasn't grasping it for some reason. Until I read the scene in the manor. Then it hit me. I don't know if you intended that to happen that way, but it worked perfectly. There were little subtle and not so subtle things along the way that kept screaming ELSEWORLDS!!! But it wasn't 'till I hit that scene that it smacked me in the face. Great Job!

Thanks!! I guess that means at least one person who is reading this thing has no idea who Batman is, then??? ;D
If you liked this, feel free to read my ongoing Elseworlds series, Titans: The Resistance!
