Absolutely amazing. WOW. I LOVED IT! I really loved what you did in this story. The different styles you used and the setting of the story itself. I could almost see everything before me. I can't wait for the next issue. And did I mention that I loved it?

Many thanks for commenting.
Sorry that the issue didn't work for you, Charlie, and really glad that you loved it, Riz.
Also many thanks to Ramon for the great cover.

That cover is great, but Basil is a lop! What's up with those indecently erect ears?!? (Looking forward to reading the actual issue, very soon!)

Charlie: You made me grin! Not sure if you liked it or not, but it did get a reaction, and that's something. ;D
Riz: Glad yu enjoyed it. Working with Mark on this has been a riot, and I've enjoyed every bit of it.
Idle: Improperly erect ears? BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
Ramon did do an awesome job, though, didn't he!

I liked the style.. and the writing styles between Brian and Mark was seamless. Good stuff I'll be back. (to quote Arnold.) Ramon's cover was a major reason for me to read the title.

*snerk*
A funny way to start a series with Zatanna in such a dark place. Tamara will of course be dealt with, but the residual magic issue will be going on for a while, I think....
And don't think I missed the references to Plas' old team, either....

The writing was solid, and I was amazed at how well the two writing styles meshed together, and I have to say, both of you are on the top of your respected games, though I did get an overriding hint of Mark's style over Brian's, though nothing wrong with that! The thing I enjoyed about our talented EiC's Teen Titans was the sense of... The surreal. That's what brought me back month after month, and that was ever present here!
Saying that, there was something that didn't appeal to me about the story. It was well written, the dialogue crisp, but I just found myself skim reading as I neared the end. I guess I'm not as invested in Zatanna as others on the site, but I was tres excited because Brian was excited, but it kind of fell flat in the second half. I'll be back for #2 because Brian is my boy, and I'll be back for #2 because Mark scares and intimidates me into reading.
Wait, what?
Ehhh... And that cover! Ramon, you always bring your a-game!

Many thanks for commenting, Jay and Charlie. And don't think I missed the references to Plas' old team, either.... You spotted that? Darn it, and me and Brian went out of our way to have readers skim reading near the end so they'd miss that line. Sorry the issue didn't hold up until the end; I can see how it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea. Hopefully, we'll be able to win you around with issue 2, or, failing that, I guess I'll just have to stick with the scare and intimidation tactics.

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I'm sorry the end seemed to hit a wall with you, Charlie. I hope you keep reading, and that you might find it more enjoyable as it grows.
This is an off beat tale, and the reason that I was so sold on working with Mark. The man has such a surreal look, and wonderful sense of humor, that I just had to jump in.
I'm glad I did, too. This really is Mark's story. His outline, and 98% of his ideas. Once again, I'm just lucky enough to ride on the coattails of such a gifted person.
As for coming issues! If you think this one was weird, wait until you meet the Lollipop Guild and Zee drinks margarita's from a...
Hey Mark, what are you doing with that syringe! Stay away from m...

I like the character and I like the way she's written here.
I like both writers very well b/c their content is engaging on other stories, so this is no different to me.
Good job, guys.

Solid issue, you guys did a good job with the writing, it was very seamless. I'm not big into the magic part of DC, so while I'm not gushing with praise like others, as a story it was entertaining and interesting.
Good Job guys.
