Loved the ending! Nothing better than an "Oh #$@! moment, and boy was that it.
Really fun stuff here, and I love to see the League when they are worn down, that's when the personalities start to fly. Too bad Katar and Ollie weren't around each other tough. That's the fireworks I was hoping to see.
As always, a solid story with solid writing and an awesome cover. I guess everyone has their personal preferences, and mine would be that both Gypsy and The Question, even more so, don't end up being full time members. Don't get me wrong, I love The Question, but I never cared for him in the cartoon version the Justice League, and always felt he was even more of a loner than Batman.
Again, that's just personal preference. It's like The Avengers and The X-Men. Everyone has their own team that they want to see. Either way, I know the characters are in absolute excellent hands.
Terrific job!

You just never let up with the big stories and the great characters. I loved Gypsy, loved getting to see her make her choice there near the end. And I loved the way the Question was interacting with the rest of the team. Letting them be human and worn out and snippy was really pretty fun, much more interesting than heroes who never get on each other's nerves. Can't wait to see how it all comes together in the end!

I've been loving what you've been doing with the Injustice Unlimited angle of this series, Don. You've got a really awesome handle on all these villainous characters, but I don't know what that says about you! The banter between the head honchos of the group is just fun, and I'm loving seeing Angelo Bend on a monthly basis (and he'll be appearing in Wonder Woman soon, if I can finish writing the issue!) along with all the other evil geniuses! Off topic, but I have to say this: I've always maintained that there was one other person on this site who, in my eyes, could handle The Question well, someone who has my complete confidence when it came to that character, and that was Brian. I always thought The Question would be perfect in New Outsiders, but reading Justice League, I have to make an addendum to that statement. There are now two people who I trust completely with the character, and that's you too Don. Brian, I'm afraid the "ultimate loner" shtick is one I've imposed over the character, taking his characterisation from the JLU series to an extreme, but Don, in my opinion, has been doing some great stuff with the guy. If I get my way, The Question won't be leaving Justice League for a long, long time... And considering who's tentatively wanting to write the book after Don leaves... Well, I might just have my way. Back to the issue at hand! I enjoyed seeing Kid Eternity and Hawkman's banter. The two characters are from disparate ends of the spectrum, ghost and alien, and going into the issue with that knowledge, to borrow someone elses words, tickles me! I've got a soft spot for Katar, as demonstrated in Zero hour #5 (I couldn't help myself!) and soon to be seen in the delayed All-Star Comics Annual #2, which, I promise, is coming soon! Anyway, the silence after Byth left the two heroes to their prisons was awesome. I love those moments of punctuation that you've built into this book. The deeper exploration into the character's powers is also pretty cool. Black Lightning's powers naturally lend themselves to what you've set up, and I couldn't help but smile. Bravo man. Wonder Woman too is shining under your authorship, and her snapping was in character and also shocking. Green Arrow Vs The Question reminded me of The Dark Knight Strikes Again in all the best ways (I was taking their "emnity" and nothing else, don't worry ) And the final reveal of the villain? Magnificent. Sorry it took me so long to say, but I'll be back in 30!!

Oh, I guess I should criticize you too, because God knows that's what I'm about! (I kid! I jest!) I thought that Gypsy served no real purpose on the team. She could have introduced an interesting dynamic to the team, but right now, I kind of forget that she's there until you mention her again. She's there. But she's not really, in my eyes, adding anything. I withhold judgement till next month, because this is her first major appearance with the team, but I'm hoping you can ruin my argument

Certainly the tension is building. But is Starbreaker more important than Byth's plans? Gypsy is very believable.

Hey everyone. Thanks for the kind words, and I'm glad you're all enjoying the ride. Kudos to Roy for some great covers for this arc, and I can't wait to see what he does up for the wrap-up. Brian, sorry to disappoint, but Question and Gypsy (and the Wonder Twins even, heh heh, how's that for irritating the readership?) will all be sticking around for the length of my run. I do have plans for the younger kids, in League and beyond, and their story will build in a way to take them away from where they don't belong (the League, I'm the first to admit that) but it'll be a fun journey in the process. The Question is good for filling that loner tactician Batman role, and something else I get to do with him is show how irritating Batman's traits can be while contrasted to what friends will let friends get away with. Should be fun to watch. I love the Question, and he'd have been in from the start if I could have arranged it. Needless to say, I jumped for joy when Charlie came to me saying he was back and available. Sam, Jay, thanks very much for the kind words on Gypsy. I'm glad she seems authentic and real, she's got a soft spot in my heart, and I want to see her done up right. So her behavior being real to you is great to hear. And yeah, Starbreaker's plans are more important than Byth's. Well, to Starbreaker. To Byth? Maybe...maybe not. Who is doing what precisely? Wait until you see the answers come out in the final part, and see who is playing who. Charlie, thank you for the wonderful words concerning the Question, and my writing him. I love this guy, and love working with him, and have been dying to get my hands on him. The great thing about the Question is that he can be used as the enigmatic detective with so many different slants that all remain true to his core conceits. The conspiracy nut from JLU, the hard-bitten philosophical crime reporter in Cowan's series, the almost Ironsides-like detective web I'm hoping to impart on him...he's a very flexible and fascinating character. I love Injustice Unlimited. Doing a Secret Society that operates a bit differently was always a dream of mine to write, and get to. I loved the basic concept back in Infinity, Inc. where I stole the name, but I feel this is done right. The IU from Infinity was mercenary like this, but all a revenge ploy by wizard too. Here, the conceit is done straight, the super-villain union hall. There is more to this story than meets the eye though, and how Angle Man survived dying in Squad years back, and what the secret behind Exeter is, those are going to be coming out soon. Should be some great plot twists to come, I'm hoping. And I'll be keeping IU running over at Secret Society of Super-Villains, that's for sure. Glad they're striking a suitable chord with people. Kid Eternity getting to show a little of his true self (he is just a seventeen year old kid who recently died (and more, check out Doctor Occult to see his story progress befor ejoining the League) and feeling invincible in death only to discover that's not quite so again! That makes him fascinating and letting some of his deeper nature out, especially against warrior-cop Katar, made for a fascinating pair. I hope people caught Atom's determination to rescue his feathered friend as well. IT's tough to get all these people their due moments and growth, but it's a fun challenge. And your criticism of Gypsy is quite valid, Charlie. This is a tough thread actually. Part of what I'm hoping to get across, and will become more obvious when read as a whole, rather than month-by-month piece, is that the Question thinks almost TOO far in advance. He turned Gypsy to the league not to stop Byth and Starbreaker, against whom she's really rather useless, but to put the mortal chink in IU's existence, open up a weakness to exploit. Gypsy's meant to be useless in this story, and come into her own down the road. It doesn't work very well at this juncture, and you're right. Black Lightning got short-changed last issue, and the twins continue to be short-changed throughout this arc (way too many characters LOL), but Gypsy is meant to be pointless in a way, but purposefuly so. I"m not sure I've gotten that point across very well though. Again, especally not with the serialized format. In "TPB" form, it might look better. We'll see down the road. For now though. you're right. Anyway, thanks for all the comments and I hope you all enjoy the showdowns with Starbreaker and Byth and saving the world! Take care Don
