Something of a "calm after the storm" issue (I would call Kate vs. Helena a stormy issue). Glad to see Plas back and solid again, although it's a bit unbelievable that after coming back from the brink of death the team would let him go out drinking.
And good god is Vito a cold-hearted bastard. I mean really. I thought mobsters had ethics.
A gripping, well done issue. As always, i'm looking forward to the next one (Which, hopefully, will be some sort of 'guys night out' that follows the unlikely adventures of Plas, Anarky and Reddie).

Glad to see Plas back and solid again, although it's a bit unbelievable that after coming back from the brink of death the team would let him go out drinking. I guess you could say this was a bit of a calm, but everything in this issue propelled the various stories forward where they needed to be for next issue. And Plas probably shouldn't have headed right to the bar, but after nearly becoming a human sized lump of silly putty that's been sitting out in the sun for two days, can you blame him? ;D Vito hasn't really been the same since he got out of jail, has he. And I hope you come back for the next issue, cause he gets worse... REALLY worse. Actually, I do have a "guys night out" story, working in the back of my mind, but it's on the back burner at the moment. As I've already hinted, next issue is going to be kind of big. In fact, the title of it is called: "Blood Bath" (and nope, Brother Blood is not involved ) Thank you for reading, responding, and your consistent loyalty to both. I really work very hard on this title to make each one enjoyable, and I hope I never take yours (or anyone's) comments for granted. They mean a lot.

Bloody Hell this was good. The opening was full of little moments I really liked, the not wanting to shoot innocents, Vito trying his best to keep up his facade... fantastic. I loved the "Dwight" moment, and it had hints of Mark's style behind it, though that could be a coincidence... and not a bad thing!
I have to say, Plastic Man's fragmented thoughts were really sad to read, and made me want Plas to come back together even more, and to be honest, I didn't know if you were going to do it! New Outsiders always throws curve balls when it comes to people surviving! But I was glad he survived, and I wonder what happened to magic? That's a bit crazy, if I do say so myself!! And poor Dinah Snr. I'm holding out hope for her, but damn.
That ending was fantastic, at last, she knows what her husband is capable of, and I hope it comes back to bite him in the arse!
A brilliant read, Brian, as per, keep up the good work!!

Brian, I hadn't had a lot of time to read my fave titles, but I am glad I did this morning... This was a good return to form for me. I think you've put a lot of emotion back into it! Though, I did like the exchange between mother and daughter... That's good stuff! I would like to see more of Babs and Dick... but that's more a personal preference. I liked when Plas gave Dinah a big smooch LOL. Her reaction was classic Dinah! The Cover was outstanding!!!!! ***** from me on both writing and cover. Good job man.

Glad you liked the character moments, because they are my favorite to write. And I'm always the first to acknowledge when I use someone's idea, but the Basil/Dwight moment was all mine. Although after all these years working with Mark, it wouldn't surprise me if I was channeling him at that moment. LOL! Well, we've got to have a happy ending once in a while! Especially after next issue! What happened to magic? You might want to check out the latest issue of Wonder Woman for more on that story. It's an excellent story that just happened to have ramifications all the way in Vegas. As for Dinah Sr., well, keep reading. This is a story that David and I have been discussing, and I'm honored that he's letting me use this wonderful Golden Age character for this particular story. Next issue. Nuff said. Thank you, and please keep reading. It's always appreciated.

Though, I did like the exchange between mother and daughter... That's good stuff! Thanks. I know the last few months have been very story driven, but I'm getting my groove back to really delve into these characters again as they continue to grow. And I'm glad you liked the mother/daughter moment. There will be a lot more of them in the months to come. Thank you! For more of Babs and Dick, you might want to check out the next couple of issue's of Detective Comics. And I'm glad you liked the Plas/Dinah kiss. Boy this team sure does a lot of kissing.

Welcome back Eel!
Vito....you mad just about the dumbest mistake possible for you to make. Haven't you figured out what happens to mobsters who mess with the Outsiders yet?

Well done, well done! A very good issue, with tension coming from surprisingly quiet scenes. Excellent craftsmanship in this tale, and I loved reading it. The Canaries will be facing some hard(er) times and that will be fascinating (and heartwrenching) to watch. I agree with the others, succeed or fail, Vito has pretty much just signed his death warrant. And never mind Kate...I think his wife will be having a little something to say about all this. And that's a great use of a classic trope.
The struggle to save Plastic Man was very well rendered too, and I liked the continuity nods in the issue, keeping the ties that bind in place.
All in all, well done, and can't wait for the next issue.
Take care Don

Well done, well done! A very good issue, with tension coming from surprisingly quiet scenes. Excellent craftsmanship in this tale, and I loved reading it. Thank you very much. I'm glad you really enjoyed it. I hope this story will accomplish all I want it to do. Well, perhaps Vito is all talk? Or not... Next issue will reveal much more on Vito's vendetta. Glad you liked Plas' save. It was a bit bizarre to write, actually. And I love using continuity when I can. DC2 was built on its own continuity and that's a large part of what I've always loved about this place. Thanks for reading and for responding. It is always appreciated.

Okay, let's see.
When I was last a regular reader, Green Arrow led this team, there was still a Bat GIRL, and there was a nut job called Vigilante running around here. Times sure have changed.
The good news (for me) is that this book is as terrific as I remembered. Great characterizations, interactions, and humor. This was always one of my favorite books on the site, by one of my favorite writers, and I suspect nothing about that will change.
The four Outsider ladies are still here and that makes me happy, since I always thought that was one of the stronger points of this title. Huntress, Canary, and Zatanna are such rich characters. I take it that now Batwoman is the leader? That would make sense to me.
I don't know much about Manhunter and Anarky, other than that I'm aware of them, so I guess I'll have to see what they're all about. I was never a big Red Tornado fan, but I can see how he would provide a detached, logical perspective to the team.
But Plastic Man? Oh hell yeah, I love that. Glad you decided to not let him remain as plastic soup and brought him back. It seemed like this issue was a transition to the next big story arc. A good place to jump in, and I can say I'm glad to be back aboard. Looking forward to next issue already.

Okay, let's see. When I was last a regular reader, Green Arrow led this team, there was still a Bat GIRL, and there was a nut job called Vigilante running around here. Times sure have changed. Wow, it has been a while! Welcome back, you've been missed. Yep, Barbara is all grown up, and her new name was suggested by her father of all people! And as for Adrian... keep reading... Very kind words. I'm glad that this book has held the test of time for you. I'm just as proud and honored to be writing it now as I was when I started. Batwoman is indeed the leader, and the other three are very much still around. In fact, both Huntress and Zatanna have a very important part to play in the next BIG EVENT that is starting in just under 1 week. As for Black Canary, her life is also going to continue changing. Manhunter (Kate) is a personal favorite of mine and although this is not the character that DC has now, her evolution in DC2 may very well send her down the same path... starting in 1 week! Anarky seems to be on the back burner at the moment... or is he? And I hope to make you a fan of Red Tornado. I've really grown to enjoy this character myself. And he may not be as detached as some would think. Yeah, gotta love Plas! Next to the birds, he's been the most fun to write. This is a great time to jump on board, because the next big arc is fast approaching... in 1 week! (have I said that already? ) Although if you get a chance, check out some of the back issues. You never know when the Outsiders past may just pop back up to haunt them. ;D Again, welcome home and glad to see you. Thans for reading and responding.
