Somewhere between the team in-fighting and the Apokolips invasion, readers forgot that Adrian and Helena were once happy. And if nothing else, this issue reminded us of that.
Plastic Man was exactly what we've come to expect of him: funny, but still a good detective. His interrogation of Death Dog was definately a fun read. And Reddy...what are you hiding? And why are you so sad?
Batwoman's scene with Robin was good. Tim having trouble with his new occupation not only made a lot of sense, but was a refreshing scene and I enjoyed it.
And Bernie...just wow. A very obvious choice and yet I never saw it coming. Rather brilliant. I'm looking forward to seeing how this gets explained, as well as the mystery of the new Vig.
I got nothing else to say that I haven't said before about this series. See ya next month.

Somewhere between the team in-fighting and the Apokolips invasion, readers forgot that Adrian and Helena were once happy. And if nothing else, this issue reminded us of that. Then my job is done. It's very easy to allow a character to move forward and ignore the history, and that's not how life goes, which is what I always try to show with these characters when I can. Yes, what is Reddy hiding. Glad you enjoyed Plas. If I'm in the right frame of mind, he's a blast to write. Thank you. Bernie's involvement will be explained next issue. Promise. As for Vig... I'll tease you with this... he's somebody the readers have seen before. And I thank you very much for reading and commenting every month. It means a lot. Also thanks to Roy for another awesome cover and Mark for all his hard work as well. And also, also. For those who are interested in the St. Dumas sub-plot, you alll might want to check out this months issue of Green Arrow.

Wonderful issue Brian. Especially the scene with Helena and J'onn at the grave.
Reddy, what's going on with you? Plas was great. He's one of my favourite characters in this group.
Bernie? He killed Vito? Why do I doubt it?
Great story, a great cover and Mark is doing a great job as editor. This team never ceases to amaze me.

Wonderful issue Brian. Especially the scene with Helena and J'onn at the grave. Glad you enjoyed that scene, but I have to admit that the idea for that one wasn't totally mine. *coughMarkcough* That poor android... *sigh*. And I'm tickeled at the positive feedback we're getting about Plastic Man. Thanks! But he had a weapon? And he confessed! Thanks again, Riz. This book wouldn't be near as fun to do if it weren't for those two!

Okay... this Harkens back to a great great issue in #16. I love the fact that a book can use it's own history and tell a story about the events happening now.
Great great stuff, Brian. #16 will always be my favourite issue on this site, but you strung up another winner.
***** from me.
**** on the cover. Simple. Effective. Roy. Enough said.

Thanks Jay and glad you enjoyed it. I really love the fact that I can use so much history as well. It really helps when you truly love the characters that you're writing, and even though I've rarely been satisfied with anything I've written, this is THE book that I still get a real rush out of sitting down and exploring every month. And I'm glad that after all this time, issue #16 still resinates with you. That means a lot.

Plastic Man is so much fun to read, not only for his zaniness but also that to me, he's not an obvious candidate to mesh well with the rest of the Outsiders. It was a brilliant move to put him on this team. His scene with Death Dog was hilarious, as usual. I always look forward to the Plas scenes.
This issue also had two touching scenes. Batwoman and Robin was interesting, as the maternal instincts of Babs came to the fore. Who knew that someone as nurturing as Batwoman can also kick ass? And Huntress with J'onn was the pivotal scene this issue. As cold as J'onn can come off, he does have feelings, and empathy, and Huntress could probably use his shoulder to lean on, if just for a moment. Just don't make her SOFT.
-SPOILERS-
And thank you for keeping Adrain Chase in his grave. Don't ever cheapen his death by pulling a DCU Jason Todd with him. I don't have a problem with a new Vigilante, but the original's death is absolutely one of the seminal moments of the entire DC2, one of the truly great sequences of the entire site. Please always respect that (though I suspect you will) and let Adrian rest in peace.
I don't think Bernie did it either. Not for an instant.

Guess I better not kill him off after all, huh. Glad you noticed that maternal side of Barb. Remember it after she becomes... you know what... never mind. Really glad you enjoyed this scene, it was fun to write. Huntress, soft? Oh no, not in a million years. She's just a well rounded woman. That may have come out wrong... It was never my intention to bring Adrian back. Mark and I both agreed a long time ago that Adrian died a hero, and it will remain that way. I'm always tickeled, though, when someone mentions that story. It means a lot. Bernie had the gun! What is wrong with you people! ;D

Took me a bit to get into this issue, but once I did, you turned out a lot of good moments. Bernie & Helena, Babs & Tim, Helena & J'onn...I'd toss in Reddy & Plas, but it was a bit too vague for me. Glad to know Adrian is still in his grave...in the sense that you didn't cheapen his death by bringing him back, not in the sense of him being dead overall. You get what I mean. But that still leaves the question of who was on the roof last issue. I have an idea, but not sure if I should voice it.

And thanks for taking the time to read and comment!

Well, my idea hinges on this: where's Manhunter been lately? My memory could just be faulty (wouldn't be the first time) but I can't recall her being around for a couple issues.
Just sayin'...
