Can't believe I'm the first to respond to this.
I suspect this is one of those issues that will have far reaching ramifications for this team and this book for a long time to come. There's no way, NO WAY this doesn't have a huge impact on every single one of the Outsiders from here on out.
Great twist on the Vito's killer reveal. Makes sense if you think about it, but I must admit I still didn't see it coming. But it's what happened afterwards that really pushes things over the edge. I imagine it will be tough for some Outsiders to look their other members in the eyes after this.
With nary a punch thrown I was engrossed in this issue, Brian, a tribute to your incredible skills of characterization and character interactions. Every member of the Outsiders had her/his moment to shine, and nothing felt forced. For such a critical issue it was an unusual approach, and I have to admit I love reading issues like this from time to time. I'll be fascinated to see what happens next.
Very effective cover, Roy. Captures the mood of the piece perfectly.
And I still say it was the android in the bedroom with the revolver.

Bloody Hell. Didn't see that coming, especially with the cliffhanger of the previous issue, but the way you tied everything together-- and I mean everything, not just your own writing but Dave, the man who came before you, into a perfect package... wow. I'm amazed at how awesome this issue was. I have to admit, this arc has had it's highs and lows for me as a reader, but this issue, both the reader in me and the writer was thoroughly impressed. I still don't like Anarky. I don't find him to have any redeeming features, and his constant sniping went from irritating to downright inappropriate, so that took me out of the story by an inch... not far, considering.
This was a brilliant murder mystery. Congratulations, Brian, New Outsiders continues to be one of the highest quality books on site every month of the year. And I just hope that Dinah's mother doesn't start doing drugs or something, that would be terrible...

Can't believe I'm the first to respond to this. To be honest, I was afraid I ticked some people off since I hadn't seen any feedback at all for a couple of days. lol You suspect right! There is absolutely NO way that anyone has escaped the ramifications of this story. And all I will say is that when you least expect it... expect it. I'm glad you liked the twist. Now, I want to state right here for the record that the original idea for the killer was not mine at all. I had a couple of other people in mind, and it was Mark who initially brought that person up as the guilty party. We went back and forth and discussed it more than probably any storyline to date. So to give credit where credit is due, Mark Bowers was the mastermind behind this. Thank you Mark for this and SO much more. You make me blush, Sir. Thank you for the very kind words. I'm glad the unusual approach worked for you. It was what I was most nervous about when writing this particular issue. Well that and the big reveal... and of course what happened afterwords... Roy is freakin' brilliant with these covers! I owe him SO much. Well... okay...

Thank you for the very kind words, Charlie. I was thrilled to be able to go all the way back to the brilliant work that Dave did when he started this book. I love the rich history that has been created here and try to use it as much as possible. I think this issue has given me even more food for the future. LOL! But no love for Anarky?! Aww come on! Actually, I'll tease you a bit and let you know that Anarky has his own story brewing soon and perhaps that will altar your perception of him a bit. I do my best, Charlie, and after four years I can say that it isn't easy keeping up with the amazing talent that still encircles both this site and it's sister sites. Thank you both for reading and resonding, and this month I want to thank you for leaving feedback without actually revealing the big spoiler. Kudos! Peter David would be proud. ;D

I don't want to be the third person to say it, but... I didn't see that coming. I liked this issue a lot, but my problem was that I was always seeing the classic JLA right before my eyes while reading this issue. It was a great end to a fantastic arc, but Brad Meltzer might call you soon I give you 4*

I saw it coming, but it was well placed. A lot of misdirection until the end..?
I liked this issue.. wasn't thrilled about the story, but it stands on it's own merits.
Cover is classic as usual. I agree with Charlie this team always seems to put out the best product..
Nice work guys.

It was a great end to a fantastic arc, but Brad Meltzer might call you soon I give you 4* Well, that's exactly what I decided to do when we chose this path. I purposely wanted to take this path that has just recently been walked down. Wanted to put my own spin on the story. I promise you that this is not over yet. I have to thank Charlie for helping me with Zee's part in all of this. Events of recent Wonder Woman really helped take my story in a different direction that I'm excited about. I hope in the end my choices to do what I've done are to your satisfaction my friend.

I hope that the aftershocks will keep you entertained, though. I'd hate to lose anyone who reads this book. Everyone's feedback (positive and negative) is what keeps me going and struggling to do my very best by everyone. Thank you kindly for reading and responding.

Well when Reddy told Babs he loved her.. and then he admitted he killed Bertinelli.. and he was downloaded in her mind... that pretty much was the clincher. Though I didn't know how/when you were going to reveal it...
But, you did a good job at doing that.
**** from me.
Don't worry.. only time I'll not read the book is if the writer stops writing it. :-P

Brilliant.
Jay is smarter than me, because I never saw this coming, not in a million years--- this was a cleverly done, tightly plotted story and a heart-tugging bit of character work (this is not a dig, but I can't help but think of Charlie every time Anarky opens his mouth--- what does that mean that Charlie hates him so much?).
The elder Dinah subplot is on a slow simmer, but promises to boil over very soon, especially now that Rex is on the scene.
That cover is fantastic, a sort of Agatha Christie noir that perfectly fit the tone of the issue.
Every month, this creative team shows me again why this is consistently one of the best superhero books on the 'net--- or in the spinner rack.
Brilliant!

You just couldn't let it be as it was, could you?
I'm glad you didn't.
Great closer to an intense arc. The big reveal honestly came out of left field but made perfect sense (or at least perfect comic sense), which is good in a murder mystery. And now there's a big secret bonding the team; that should make things interesting.
And there's no way this kind of thing could have ramifications in the future. Or Dinah Sr.'s cure for cancer.
Great stuff here. I gotta know where it goes from here.

As always, it is great to hear your feeback from the creator of this series. WWDD is always in my thoughts when I begin an issue. Your words are very kind. I hope we can continue to make this book enjoyable for all that read for a long time to come.

You just couldn't let it be as it was, could you? I'm glad you didn't. As am I. comic book sense is the best since it stretches just a bit more. And this secret is going to make the team dynamics shift quite a bit in the coming months. So do I! and thanks for reading and responding.

Wowee, zowee wow! This title continues to impress me. Now, there was a lot of stuff that got wrapped up here, which I dig, but you even took the time to plant some nice seeds for the future. I'm pretty scared for Barbara right now. She might have been mind-wiped, but as we know, those things are never permanent. And Reddy. Super-heroic ending for the guy. Hopefully we won't see the last of him.
Also, I love Zee and hope to see her more often with the team. This was nice and special to have the leggy magician back.

So I never actually see a light at the end of the tunnel. As for Batwoman, well, I think those last couple of paragraphs spells it out. Red Tornado? This is just another chapter in his life. Heh heh. I'm glad you enjoyed Zatanna. I have to say that with nearly 40 issue's under my belt, I still have the hardest time writing her, but this storyline has given me something to play with. That and the next BIG story coming up this fall is going have a major part for Zee to play! I hope you stick around to see it.

It's taken me a while to get here and read this, but man am I glad I did. It sucked me right in and I totally believed every word. Barbara has sure been compromised not once but twice! Poor girl what is this going to do to the poor girl? Thanks for the kind words on the cover, as usual I must share with Brian, since he's the one that comes up with the idea, I just implement them as well as I can!

As I said, Babs story is only at the tip of the iceburg right now. And please Roy, the covers are all you. I throw something out there and you make an adequate idea and make it brilliant. Kudos to you Sir.
