Told you she wouldn't stay dead.
Good issue; not the best but still good. Another one of those "calm between the storms" things, with Helena's attack behind us and the imminent showdown with Brother Blood ahead. I like the moment with Babs and Dinah; it's good to know the mind-wipe is weighing down on her and that someone took the time to talk about it.
Again, a solid character issue. I'm looking forward to seeing what happens.

Told you she wouldn't stay dead. Darn it! Didn't trick you at all! Curses! ;D This is exactly what it was. A character issue, mainly focusing on Babs and Dinah. There are two different stories that are obviously building here, with one major issue hanging over everyone's head. If this is done right (by me, I know my partner in crime on this one, Don Walsh, is going to be great with his part) all of this is going to come crashing together in a rather epic way. I hope... After all, how many heroes have actually lived to tell about their experience on... The Danger Trail! Thanks for reading and responding.

After the brutal, heart-wrenching events of last issue (it was a powerful piece of prose--- but it was hard to read from an emotional standpoint: poor Helena!) this issue shows that Brian knows when he punches us in the gut, he's got to give us space to catch our breath!
I'm relieved that they were able to bring Helena back (Helena might not be so grateful, though), Eel once again demonstrating why he is an integral member of this team.
Emotions are raging across the spectrum, even as the team realize they are about to face huge threats--- Dinah even fears it might be their "final adventure" (please, no!)... I think I've finally been won over by Grace, as I am loving her story arc with Manhunter--- and the overlap with a certain other title that seems to be coming has me all a-twitter (it's quite a sight, a grown man twittering).
Brother Blood has always been one of my favorite villains, and I absolutely cannot wait for his return. This is a slow burn that I know is going to develop into a raging inferno--- let's just hope it doesn't engulf the Outsiders!
That cover is fantastic! Jamie has given us one of those fun and beautiful images that scream excitement and four-color madness. Well done Mr. Rimmer! Roy Flinchum will always be missed on this title, but you are a welcome and worthy successor!
Bring on Tomorrow Woman! I always knew she was destined to show up in the DC2niverse somewhere! After all, she's in the future Justice Legion of Gotterdammerung... ;D!

A wonderful calm before the storm, Brian, and one that promises lots of trouble in the coming months! Barbara and Dinah at each other's throats and then Barbara realising-- as friends do-- that she's pushing herself with this, that she might be in the wrong, just shows how much of a grasp you have on these characters, and how well you know their voices, inside and out. I don't know how Helena is going to cope when she wakes up, but I expect she's going to need some kind of awesome eyepatch? Ala Molotov from Venture Bros.? I don't know where you're going (well, I have an inkling, but still...) with this, but I have to say, I'm psyched! Great issue.

Told you she wouldn't stay dead. Darn it! Didn't trick you at all! Curses! ;D Well, you had me for a second. But reading this issue right after I finished the one before... like I said, you had me for a second. Well, your choice of words (especially the "radiant" and "vessel of hope" part) had me think that she might return as "Radiant - the personification of Gods Mercy"... Who knows...

It's good to return to the team theme after seeing Babs, Dinah and Eel do their thing in solo spots. This is the foundation of the book to me is the interaction of the characters and what it takes for them bond together. I fully don't understand what Babs is going to do with the mind-sweep.. Reddy's death.. Bruce's death.. Lena's near death. You can tell she is the one with the most angst. I curl my toes when I read her spots. Just some really riveting stuff to me. Which is why I like this book a lot.
Anyway, I liked the interaction between Dinah and Babs. That's like Captain Kirk dressing down Mr. Spock for insubordination.. you just don't expect it from Dinah at all.
I noticed you had a church being attacked in Dallas, TX.. I meant to throw some love out for that. thanks lol. Nice to see my home town get a shout out.
Thanks for the issue.. Great stuff.
**** from me on the story.
**** from me on the cover.
Cya next month.. (hopefully.)

I was summarily impressed by this issue. I liked how you brought Helena back because it was plausible without it being too grim (though I imagine it must have been messy) and it wasn't a cop-out. Super-hero defibrilation baby! I kind never bought the relationship between Kate and Grace other than as a joke, but I can kind of see it more here. Though, I have to wonder how long they can last, since it seems to me that Kate's really just using Grace as a crutch for all her recent loss. On the flip side though, it's really cool to see a tough as nails chick like Grace start feeling some emotion. I'm looking forward to the return of Brother Blood, simply because we need more Anarchy action. I swear, the guy's on the team, but he always seems to just walk into the room and go "what's up?" all the time while something important happens. I miss Ollie. I've always been a big Barbara fan and I like what's happening to her here. The layers of the mind-wipe are fraying, I can feel it! Good build-up issue with some phenomenal character work. I look forward to seeing next month's installment! ;D -D.L. Mann

Actually it gave me a chance to catch mine as well. Helena's got quite a road back, but if anyone can do it, I know she can. And I'm glad Plas' place with the team is shining a bit more for you. The threats that are just down the road a bit are very huge. Possibly some of the biggest they've faced since their visit to Apokolips. And the scars in the end may be even deeper! Interesting choice of words there, Dave. And I would have to say that Brother Blood has always been in my top 3 favorite DC villains list so I hope I do him justice. (No pun intended) agreed on all counts! You will get your wish next issue with guest artist Ramon Villalobos! and speaking of Gotterdammerung... Thanks for taking the time, Sir. It is always appreciated.

I kept deleting and redoing several key moments in that dialogue. I wanted to get it just right and glad you enjoyed it. Helena with an eye patch? Hmmm.... Thanks for your continuing loyalty on this title, Charlie. It means a lot!

Super-hero defibrilation baby! That scene made me nervous because I wasn't sure if it was going to play out realistic enough or not, so thank you for that. Ahhh, interesting points here. And to be honest, much of this story now and as it continues is probably as autobiographical as anything I've ever written here. (except for the fact that I don't have breasts and rarely do I swear like a soldier, nor do I have super strength and high endurance). Come to think of it, it's nothing like my own story. There will be a LOT of Anarky in this next issue, I promise. As well as future issues. In fact, in this next BIG arc that Don and I are working on, everyone of the New Outsiders has an important role to play. You might be surprised. So do I. You might want to check out this upcoming issue of GA next week. Then future issues of Seven Soldiers. ;D Heh heh heh. Thank you very much. Actually next month is the end of this month. Yep, two issues in September. I was running a bit behind.
