Now this was a welcome return to form! As problematical as last issue was, this one was just a great Justice League story! I enjoy the done-in-ones and this was nicely utilized everything most fun about this book: the big threat, the big ideas and the character interaction between headliners. The references to Flash #23 were neat (An Earth-One Dr. Schwartz!) and did I detect a nod to Action Comics #1 as well...? Hawkman's companion was telegraphed but still it made for a nice pay-off. Animal Man made a lot of sense, with his comment about not fighting the Crises--- and I love this line: “We saved someone’s world,” she said. “Like we’re supposed to do.” As big as Justice League stories can be, and this one was no exception, sometimes it's nice to make a difference like they did here, making Barry's situation even more poignant. And what an awesome cover...! Mark Saxton, you are winning a fan in me! Beautiful! Five stars, fellas! Nice job and see ya next month!

Now this was a welcome return to form! Thank God! Anyone who has spoken to me for the past month would know how disappointed in myself I was after the complete failure of the last issue, and with this story I found the inspiration to move forward. I'm glad you liked it! As problematical as last issue was, this one was just a great Justice League story! I enjoy the done-in-ones and this was nicely utilized everything most fun about this book: the big threat, the big ideas and the character interaction between headliners. Good! I wanted to focus more on the lower tier this issue, and the story went through a lot of revisions over a very short period of time until it hit this version, and I'm chuffed with how it ended up. Originally, this was going to be the first in a series of done-in-ones but once I found my footing with the characters, and their voices, I had to launch in an insane three-parter that piggy-backed over certain developments in this story! The references to Flash #23 were neat (An Earth-One Dr. Schwartz!) and did I detect a nod to Action Comics #1 as well...? You do indeed! A lot of story seeds were planted in this issue, and it launches the mission statement for the title that I have-- that every single arc/issue should be an event unto itself, and could potentially be a crossover event with other titles. I need to talk to you about it, actually, because there's a big story that came up in talks with Mike Hewison that you might be interested in... Hawkman's companion was telegraphed but still it made for a nice pay-off. The thing is with this issue, and Don'll know this, is that I wanted it to be a moving story, because I've never written one of those before, not consciously. I wanted this to be the kind of story that stays with you, that creates an emotion within you, and I don't think I fully succeeded, but I do think I'm on my way to being able to accomplish what is one of the hardest things a writer can do. With Schwartz, I wanted to create an overbearing sense of sadness, and the complete lack of his daughter... well, it would, wouldn't it? The addition of the Hawkman scenes came from a suggestion by Mark Bowers, and the issue wouldn't have been as effective if it wasn't for his input. Animal Man made a lot of sense, with his comment about not fighting the Crises--- and I love this line: “We saved someone’s world,” she said. “Like we’re supposed to do.” The majority of the "Big Seven", in my eyes, have a very macroview of superheroing, and yeah, you've got Batman, who is the epitome of street level, so he's the exception that proves the rule when it comes to these really cosmically powerful beings, so with these new characters-- and yes, I acknowledge that Firestorm has been on the team before, and that'll be addressed somewhere, I have the scene written-- I wanted the microview addressed, the needs of the few, as opposed to the many. Doctor Light hasn't fought the New Gods. Animal Man hasn't punched Despero in the face. They're used to a smaller scale, and so they, right now, think on one. But that'll change very soon... As big as Justice League stories can be, and this one was no exception, sometimes it's nice to make a difference like they did here, making Barry's situation even more poignant. Completely! But you can't make such a drastic change to the make up of a universe without something coming and biting you in the ass, I can tell you that. Kevin Feeney has done some amazing work with The Flash, and I don't want people to forget that, so this is in homage to his work, and will probably be the only issue that directly links to other storylines on site. Justice League will be marching to it's own beat, and so we won't have to worry about accidentally blurring the lines between this and the main character's own titles. And what an awesome cover...! Mark Saxton, you are winning a fan in me! Beautiful! And rightly so, too. Mark Saxton is a valued member of the site, and he's only been a member for a few months now! I hope to get him back on the book, but Jamie Rimmer and his imitable style is back next issue, and you can catch Mark's work across the site on a variety of books. Five stars, fellas! Nice job and see ya next month! Thank you again, Dave. Always brilliant to hear from you!

Fairly good, you handled the large cast effectively, and it was an interesting story. The Flash had some really interesting moments, same for Batman. I do have to ask though, where's the payout for this story? You touched on various aspects of the multiverse, but I don't see where it's going yet...

Fairly good, you handled the large cast effectively, and it was an interesting story. The Flash had some really interesting moments, same for Batman. Thank you, I'm much more comfortable with how this issue came out than the issue previous, and this was as much a Flash story as it was a Justice League story. Like I've said, this'll be the only story of it's kind to really have such a direct "continuation", thematically at least, with a solo series. The cast is coming together too. Expect some additions to the roster with #31. Oh, and #29. That's going to be a good one. Reaction provoking. I do have to ask though, where's the payout for this story? You touched on various aspects of the multiverse, but I don't see where it's going yet... Soon.

Wow am I falling behind on this title, and how unfortunate since I really loved this issue!
I will say that I wasn't hip to Katar in this, he seemed a bit mellow for my liking, but the chest comment made me laugh out loud and wake up my daughter... Nice! ;D
Your take on Dr. Light II was dead on, though! Excellent stuff there. Good to see Firestorm hanging around and can't wait to see what's going on there.
The JLA is a very hard team to write, and I'm happy to see that it's continuing in such a strong way after Don's most excellent run.
5 stars for both story and cover!

Wow am I falling behind on this title, and how unfortunate since I really loved this issue! Thank God! After the mis-step that was the issue previous, I had fears people wouldn't come back, but I'm glad you did. I really enjoyed writing this story, and it helped me find my niche with the characters. Glad you're back onboard I will say that I wasn't hip to Katar in this, he seemed a bit mellow for my liking, but the chest comment made me laugh out loud and wake up my daughter... Nice! ;D I don't think Katar would be angry all the time, is all. I wanted to find a happy medium with the hardcore warrior that he is, that takes no £$%^ from anyone, and also this noble creature, because he's, to me, a knight, no matter what. He's fast becoming one of my favourite guys to write on site. Your take on Dr. Light II was dead on, though! Excellent stuff there. Good to see Firestorm hanging around and can't wait to see what's going on there. Doctor Light was a late addition to the series, and you just wait till she meets her predecessor. Crikey. Firestorm is a big part of #28, and I know that Alex and I have discussed a relaunch of his ongoing, so hopefully that'll come to fruition. Lots of plans everywhere! The JLA is a very hard team to write, and I'm happy to see that it's continuing in such a strong way after Don's most excellent run. Thank you, that means a lot. Don raised the bar so high, it's a bugger to try and reach that, but I think I have it in me. 5 stars for both story and cover! Thanks for reading, and yes, Mark Saxton delivered all the way! Cheers!

this issue was awesome, very touching. i liked that you showed the heroes making te hard choices, showing flaws, and the response of animal man, that they would do tis, no questons asked, was everyting i expected from buddy.
i loved the epilogue of the issue, really touching stuff, wonder woman showing her maternal, matriarchal side throughout this issue, she is more than a warrior(as she can be written sometimes) i liked the brief glimpses we saw into these other worlds, and they left me wanting more, especially the ultraman/titans verse!
. and altough it was a bit predictable(i immediately assumed that becky was the scientists daughter, there is nothing wrong with that, in fact it was wonderful to know that this girlwith such bad luck and full of sadness would find a home.
great issue charlie, and fantastic cover as always by mark!!

this issue was awesome, very touching. i liked that you showed the heroes making te hard choices, showing flaws, and the response of animal man, that they would do tis, no questons asked, was everyting i expected from buddy. I'm glad you liked it. It was a very intensive issue to write, tying it somewhat into The Flash, and having to go through many rewrites to just get the right tone. I know I didn't hit it like I intended to, but I think it works, none the less-- even if it's not in the way I wanted it to. i loved the epilogue of the issue, really touching stuff, wonder woman showing her maternal, matriarchal side throughout this issue, she is more than a warrior(as she can be written sometimes) Wonder Woman is one of my favourite characters, and it's great to be writing her again, even if I do have to balance out her appearances with a score of other heroes. Glad you enjoyed it. i liked the brief glimpses we saw into these other worlds, and they left me wanting more, especially the ultraman/titans verse! Something big is coming that might appease you, sir ;D and altough it was a bit predictable(i immediately assumed that becky was the scientists daughter, there is nothing wrong with that, in fact it was wonderful to know that this girlwith such bad luck and full of sadness would find a home. I don't mind that it was so obvious, I think it still worked, and I'm glad that it did for you! great issue charlie, and fantastic cover as always by mark!! Again, thanks for the kind words, Jamie!

Two great issues of Justice League (#26 and #27)! #26 offered a great roundup as the League sought out some new recruits; I loved how we got see to see Buddy Baker's perspective on these titans. Superman was such an inspirational figure in that issue.
The next issue was a fun one-shot with some dimension-hopping action. Unlike some, I must admit that I didn't realize who Becky was until the reveal! It was a lovely ending for a great adventure that reminded me of some of the best episodes of Justice League/Justice League Unlimited, which was my introduction to these heroes. Great job!
