Ok, so I'm a little biased with this one, but it really was one of the best things I've read. I see this title having a very long and fun ride. Great job David!!!!

Great plot, good pacing, and a strong grasp of the characters involved made this an enjoyable read. I look forward to the next issue.
Good job.

A small but enthusiastic audience... Thanks, guys!
I would like to give a very special shout out to our art dept for producing a damn fine cover under challenging circumstances--- and a special nod to Scott (Lantern Lad) who drove miles out of his way to not only pick up Jim's fantastic pencils, but dress them up in the fabulous image you see today.
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers...!

Vigilante was damn cool. And the interaction between Green Arrow and Black Canary was really good (even without the hardcore sex it was good). I'm looking forward to the next one.

All I have to say is holy $h!t, this was @#$*ing great! I want more, and I want it now... P.S. Nice to know that in my day-to-day speech, I sound like a mafia boss. I may write with an extended vocabulary, but I speak like a mafioso! Good to know... now don't %$#& with me.

Very cool story, IW. Amped up a bit from the other works but nothing out of place or forced. It was also fun to see the individual characters all working seperately but being drawn together. Can't wait to read more!

Now I see why this was password-protected: Black Canary's running around nekkid! Very good, very fast-paced. It's not TV, it's not HBO, it's DC2. ;D

Wow! Just read the first issue and it was very good. I like how to tied everyone to Las Vegas, my new favorite place to go (just got back from there on my honeymoon). I think you have picked a very interesting group to play off each other in the new outsiders. Plus, having four of the hottest chicks in the DCU is a nice touch. Can't wait till the next issue.

I'm really enjoying the reinventions within DC2. It's different, but it also remains faithful to the origins of the characters. They're slightly different, but recognizable.
I like the team so far. I'm curious to see what role Zatanna will play within the Outsiders. She can be a tough character to write (at least her powers), many writers make her too powerful or too weak, often missing that important middle point. I'm confident David will pull everything together excellently, as he has with every series so far.

Good issue, I really enjoyed it. I'm eager to see what happens next with Batgirl. The issue was very accurate to how the characters in the real DC universe act. Good job. The only part that confused me is that Helena is taking down another Bertinelli...well maybe I missed something, lol. Well, I'm off to read issue #1. Great job guys.

I think the confusing bit was that her family is still alive, where as in regular DCU they were murdered. In our continuity the Bertinelli's live!

Cheshire, Helena is indeed trying to take down her own family. She is a very complex, and emotionally scarred individual, well aware of the toll organized crime has on lives, and the wreckage of her own childhood. What would a moral person do when placed in her situation? Attempt to attone for the sins of her family, hopefully.

This was one of the best stories I read in the DC2 Universe. I was surprised on how accurate the characters are to the DC Universe. I really liked how it was all set in Las Vegas. Good Job with this one.

Good opening. The line-up reminds me more of a new Birds Of Prey rather than a new Outsiders, but that's no bad thing. Also, the title has me wondering who the Old Outsiders are in DC2 continuity and whether they'll be showing up. Surprised how many non-powered members there are on the team, and also can't help noticing how there seems to be a certain amount of redundancy (Batgirl and Huntress are fairly similar, Green Arrow and Vigilante are both guys with weapons).
I've a few nitpicks, mostly with the proof-reading. "there would others to take his place" should have been "there would be others...", "The Bertinelli's perhaps" didn't need the apostrophe in their name, not sure how Batgirl knew that Huntress was new to the super-hero game, "yellow goatee" sounded a bit weird, "blond goatee" might have been better, "feint of heart" should have been "faint of heart", "blond" should really be "blonde" when talking about Black Canary, "arced an eyebrow" should presumably have been "arched an eyebrow", "Thought you we're older" doesn't want the apostrophe in we're. Also, this might just be me, but the very last sentence seemed strangely constructed. Whilst it might sound like I'm pointing these things out just to be pedantic (which is quite possibly the case), they did disrupt my immersion in the story and so I thought I better mention them.
Anyway, on the strength of this opener, I'll definitely be checking out the next issue.

The decision to call them the NEW Outsiders stems from wanting to differentiate the DC2 title from the DCU title, and has no internal continuity bearing. Kind of along the same lines as having an Uncanny X-Men title and an Astonishing X-Men title (where one group is no more or less uncanny or astonishing than the other--- or are they? I don't know, haven't read Marvel in years...). It also signifies this title as the DC2's only original team title (one that doesn't exist in the DCU proper). The line-up is intended to remind the reader of BoP (I'm a big fan), and the lack of meta-powered heroes (except for Dinah) is intentional (it's not that kind of team; these folks won't be fighting the big intergalactic threats, they're more the down and dirty, realistic what-would-happen-if-people-really-put-on-spandex-and-hung-out-on-rooftops-waiting-for-crimes-to-stop bunch). Also, to address the issue of redundancy--- not sure if that's a valid point. Most non-powered heroes, stretching back to the Crimson Avenger of the Golden Age, are the night-stalking, weapon-bearing sort. If Vigilante and Green Arrow are too similar, try inserting Batman for instance, or Nightwing, or the Sandman, or Blue Beetle (the non-powered Ted Kord version), or Catwoman, etc. I think the trick is for the writer to create clear and distinct personalities for the characters so that it's the differences people notice, not their essential similarities. Of course, whether I've done that or not is for you (and other readers) to ultimately decide... Actually, I've been meaning to address these very issues, so thank's for being astute enough to bring them up, Mark!

Love it! This was great! Wow! (Insert Appreciative word here with exclamation point). Nice! Couple of points, love the angle with Batgirl and Huntress. Beggining was gory for my tastes but that's why this comic is for mature audiences. Love how you wrote Zanna's personality, very real. You make the comic gritty but still cartoony because, well... it is a comic! What an onfamous meeting for GA and BC. HA!
Only one noticeable mistake: On one of Ollie's hand you had him get a Jack, a five, and a seven and called it a Blackjack. But if you do the math, that actually equals 22!
Otherwise perfect, keep up the good work! ;D

One question: Is Vigilante the same Cowboy Vigilante or is he a different Vigilante?

Different Vigilante. This is the one from the 80s who looks more like Snake-Eyes.
