Good issue zero. The Adrian Chase starter felt flat, not much emotion shown with the murder of his wife and unborn child. But got better after that. Nice interactions with Ollie/Dinah, Huntress/Batgirl.
Why hasn't DC visited Las Vegas?

Interesting approach... the individual segments were a litlle short.. but I can assume that is due to the necessity of introducing each character.
Will later issues isolate members a bit more to delve deaper into them?
Of course the nature of team books is smaller segments and a more fast paced story.. the theory being that a solo book can delve into those characters more deeply this one is for kicking ass and taking names!
Now on to my only real criticism.....
C'mon it is MATURE READERS AFTER ALL..... so where are the interior illustrations.......
Dinah.. { pant , pant } need more Dinah....{ drool }
LOL..
Loooking forward to the next installment.

Check out the latest issues of New Outsiders, No#6 for Black Canary and Green Arrow teaming up in one of the most heart rending tales on the site, and then this month. NO#7, Zatanna and Batgirl for a tale concerning them and then in NO#8 we have Huntress and Vigilante doing some violent things to the criminal element!

There have been several Vigilantes in the DCU. The original Vigilante (Greg Sanders) from the '40s dressed as a cowboy and was last seen, as far as I know, in issue 0 of Grant Morrison's Seven Soldiers of Victory. Then there was Adrian Chase in the '80s who the DC2 Vigilante's based on. In the '90s there was a female Vigilante (Pat Trayce). Recently there was yet another Vigilante in a mini-series written by Bruce Jones but I've no idea who he actually turned out to be.

Okay, the message in the other thread says to reply to get the password, but there's no reply button.
So, can I get the password by replying here, as stated? Hard to tell.
I'd like to check this series out.

Okay, the message in the other thread says to reply to get the password, but there's no reply button. Oops, the permissions were set up wrongly. Thanks for letting us know, and hopefully it should now work.

Very good first issue. Nice pacing and a good variety of characters should make this a very interesting read. I have a lot of issues to catch up on but if the first issue is any indicitive then it should be a fun ride. Also the cover art is very good, although I would have rathered a naked Black Canary on the cover liek the scene inside! (Just kidding!)

Very good first issue. Nice pacing and a good variety of characters should make this a very interesting read. Wow, it's been a long time since I've gone back and revisited some of my earliest issues...! I had a lot of fun writing the opening arc of New Outsiders, so thanks for the trip down memory lane--- and thanks for caring enough to go back to the beginning on this title! Brian Burchette's run on this title begins with issue #3, and he just blows me away, so you are in for a treat! You know, I think there is actually a picture of that scene, in one of our DC2 Illustrated issues (#1, I think)--- check it out! But about that cover, it's the first of a "diptych" by wondertwin-artists Jim Dufresne (the current artist of my Justice Society of America) and Scott Kruger--- and, if I'm not mistaken, the first cover Jim ever did for the DC2! Thanks for the feedback, Shadow!

Great zeroth (is that a word? I should be! zeroth, first, second...!) issue - easy to see why this title is 18+, password protected and all that jazz! It's awesome, and doesn't at any time seem forced 'for the sake of an 18 rating'. I really enjoyed it, and can't wait to catch up!

I really enjoyed writing that opening arc, but this title really takes off under the stewardship of the next (and ongoing!) writer Brian Burchette... who at this point must hold some kind of record for longest run on a title ! Stick with New Outsiders, and you are in for a treat.
