Wow. Just plain wow. Great coda, Brian. Can't wait for next issue either, I want to know what happens with all the plot threads you've laid out for us! Who is watching Red Tornado, etc etc.
Really, you never let me down man.

I was wondering how you were going to follow-up the events of last issue--- and your instincts were spot on! This was a poignant, low-key, character driven issue that was impossible to put down.
We get a glimpse into the minds of the whole team here, and some moments really shine (okay--- most moments here shine). The stuff with Ollie and Bruce was really well done, and it was nice to see Dinah finally visit here Mother (she never calls!)--- not to mention an interesting aside from the elder Dinah about unconsummated feelings for a JSA teammate! Hmmm.
Zatana's moral ambiguity is keeping with her (DC2) character, I think, but thankfully Babs was there to talk her out of the mindwipes. But I get the impression some might regret not taking that easy way out in the future...!
Lots of neat new subplots, ensuring I will be back for next issue: Reddy's stalker, the new ADA (gee, her name sounds familiar) about to make things hot for the Outsiders, the growing distance between Ollie and Dinah, at the same time Babs stepping up (her own romantic life up in the air!)...
That cover was yet another example of why Roy Flinchum is a master. We barely glimpse a face, yet this is an emotional masterpiece.
All-in-all, a magnificent issue.

It's a story that I'm hoping will bring a little closure to his origin and also bring a few chuckles to the readers. It is about time for a laugh or two, don't you think.

I was wondering how you were going to follow-up the events of last issue--- and your instincts were spot on! This was a poignant, low-key, character driven issue that was impossible to put down. It was my plan from the beginning to end this quietly. The team had been through a lot since issue 9 and 10 and it was time to reflect on that. Glad it worked for you. I'm glad you liked that scene. It was actually the hardest one for me to write. I was not that pleased with it, but it's nice to see that is well received by someone. And this scene made me the most nervous. Playing with them Golden Agers makes me nervous. And yeah, Dinah L really should call her mom more often. As for that interesting aside... balls back in your court, my friend! Zee's story will be coming to a head with her own mini that will come out at the beginning of DC2's explosive third year! I know Mark and I have been promising this for a while, but we're almost there, folks! A magical trip with plenty of surprises and that wonderful humor that Mark has. Although this was a wrap up in many ways, I also wanted it to be a beginning of sorts. Yes, the ADA will definately be around for a while. Ollie and Dinah's story is far from over, and year three will be the year to watch Barbara Gordon... gaurenteed. Roy is awesome. I can't say enough about his talent or Roy as a person. He's a wonderful person to talk to and he has a great creative mind. This site is extremly lucky to have him. And as Susan said in her book, it's nice to have the security of a great artisit on your side. Thank you Sir! From the bottom of my heart, it always means a lot to hear from you. Hope you enjoy next issue's toung in cheek look at a modern movie icon.

I always seem to run out of words to describe how your stories make me feel Brian. This issue was another fine example. The pacing of this story was perfect. You allowed each character a chance to be seen and heard before finally coming together in the end as a team. A few highlights for me: I felt a bit of irony in the beginning with Dinah and Helena considering what Dinah went trough during the Grell penned GA series. Helena reacted exactly like I expected her to. It is truly refreshing to see a scene develop without having to tell us how to feel. Nothing is forced here because the characters are almost alive in your hands. The new ADA is a hottie! Bruce and Ollie together is always a treat when done right. Again, you don't force the scene you just seem to type out what the characters are saying like you over heard them talking. The stuff with Dinah and her mom was just ok but the insight into what she has been going through made it work here. The rest of the issue was leading up to a solid 4 star rating for me until the final scene. Damn! It was so well done I just wanted to hug everyone and walk out with them all hand-in-hand (Maybe between Helena and Babs ) Another great issue and a perfect follow up to the last story arc. I can't wait to see what happens next after this re-load issue! Another powerful cover by Roy that complimented the story perfectly. But it's hard to expect anything less when the artist has never produced anything less the greatness! 5 stars guys!

I always seem to run out of words to describe how your stories make me feel Brian. This issue was another fine example. Boy, you should hear the words I use after I reread my stuff. Now this is a quote that has made me feel all warm and fuzzy. Thank you John. I couldn't think of a nicer thing to hear. Wait till you see her with her cloths off. I'm glad you enjoyed that as well. Ollie and Bruce have a very weird friendship, in my opinion, and it's like walking a tightrope to get it to come out even okay. I'm glad it worked for you. For the record, I thought it was just okay as well, but I've had Dinah in the background for a while now, and we needed to see just how much she has been through as well. Some wounds take forever to heal. The ending was one of the first things I wrote with this issue. Helena's faith is a very strong piece of her character, and I really wanted that to shine through, in the end. Roy is just awesome! Awesome Roy, that's what I call him around my house. Of course everyone around my house now assumes I have an imaginary friend. As always John, I appreciate you reading and your honest feedback. It's valued a ton.

The Red Tornado and District Attorney scenes make me nervous. Are the Outsiders really in the clear with the Government yet?
But yes, the issue came together very well. The appearances of other DCU members was well done and did not feel in any way forced. Bruce and Black Canary I both came out very well.
Long may the path upward continue.

Excellent stuff. For once, a read an issue that had a very sweet ending (No offense intended). This, of course, was balanced by Red T turning evil again.
And just what is Batman's new team? Maybe some new New Outsiders (Grace, Halo, Boomer, etc...)?

I think Bats spoke of the Justice League...
Very nice story, very touching, but something didn't feel right imo. Can't tell you what, but I give you 4 stars

[qoute]Roy is just awesome! Awesome Roy, that's what I call him around my house. Of course everyone around my house now assumes I have an imaginary friend. [/quote] You don't really have any proof that I do exist now do you? I promised myself I wasn't going to cry, but I came close. What's bruce up to? Did he come just to pat Ollie on the back? Hmmmmm. Thanks for all the compliments on the covers guys, but like Romeo Tanghal said about inking. I just draw what they give me. Brian tells me what he wants, and I do it.

I do have proof at my house, and they all hang in my computer room, nicely framed. Thanks for reading Roy. Interesting question about Bruce, did he really have an ulterior motive? Only time... and a possible CRISIS... will tell. And as for the covers. well... "Nobody does it Better", I'm just glad you share them and there not "For Your Eyes Only". ;D

How do we know, you didn't do those covers? Hmmm, maybe I'm a manifestation of your subconsious. Maybe I'm a "Dr. No"? Maybe I should "Live and Let Die" only to "Die Another Day" cause only "Diamonds are Forever". Oh well figment or not I think I'll go get some Octo----pus for dinner. Later

After last issue, I think this was the only way you could go: give the team (and the reader) a bit of a breather before we plunge into madness again. Every little vignette came off great, and the addition of Kate Spenser proves interesting. and I'm looking forward to that promised Zatanna mini!

Thanks Susan. I do love hearing from you. I can proudly say that Kate Spencer is here to stay, and her story is just barely beginning. But she won't be the only one showing up in the next severa months. I'm very excited about the direction this team will be going in. Hope you keep coming back.
