Zee's a Skrull.
You have no idea how happy I was when I found out Grace Choi was a member of the Outsiders. That is so great. Now all we need is Anissa and Owen and the team will be complete!
You got a great story here that ties in perfectly to the JL vs. US crisis. You always need a superhuman task force under the government's thumb to keep those nasty heroes in line. Looking forward to more confrontation!

I'm glad you were happy with the newest member. Grace will be showing up in not only this book, but occasionally will be seen in the new Green Arrow series that will be coming out this fall. A Skrull? What's a Skrull? Zee is just finding her own way now that she has tapped into powers she didn't even realize were out there. You can thank her sister, Tamara for that. Thanks for reading and responding! I also want to point out the House Of Mystery was a HUGE, and I mean HUGE help on this issue. His stuff in this issue was extrodinary. And of course, I can never say enough about Roy's covers. The man is amazing! Thank both of you and Ramon, who I hear had some input in this issue as well. What a group of talent I get to work with!

Grace was a surprise to me too, as I was expecting.....someone else. Heheh.
I doubt this "alliance" with the Government will last past the Crisis.
Babs seemed really strange this issue, assuming the Justice League was guilty. That's....weird.
Things are looking interesting though, oh yes indeed!

Happy to help when I could, Brian. I noticed a couple things I DID write got altered but that's fine, some of that stuff was really wordy and didn't belong in a New Outsiders story. (let it be known I changed way more dialogue of Charlie's then I should have when it was handed back to him) Also, I never read like half of it (because it wasn't given to me) so I was confused as all hell by how it progressed in the first place. Anyways, good issue, B. I can't believe the New Outsiders sold out like that! That buncha sell outs....

Babs seemed really strange this issue, assuming the Justice League was guilty. That's....weird. Things are looking interesting though, oh yes indeed! Babs point of view is that of a cops daughter. It isn't about being innocent or guilty, it's about doing what the law tells them to do. Granted, there's still a ton of internal conflict going on within her at the same time. Thanks for reading and responding.

I didn't even finish my parts until nearly deadline time, so I'm sure it was very hard. But thanks for the kind words. And did the Outsiders sell out? Did they.... really???

(but maybe it's all part of a greater plan, read between the lines, my man!) They are not sell outs! (there, we've thrown everyone off, now)

Maybe we should have our first Crisis poll. Did the New Outsiders sell out, or not? Oh and for those of you Grace fans, she will be showing up again in a certain Crisis cross-over called Detective Comics.

Did the Outsiders sell out...?
I think what's important to remember is that the coming crisis is one of conscience as well as circumstance--- and not necessarily good versus evil. Is Faraday a villain, or just misguided? When does "I was just following orders" become no good as an excuse?
Batgirl's perspective doesn't bother me; as Brian pointed out, she's a cop's daughter, and has a healthy respect for law and order. It's Green Arrow that this crisis is going to tear apart.
Ollie is in a position we rarely see him in: he's leading and responsibile for a team that has already taken some pretty big hits. He's worried about Dinah, he's dealing with the fallout from Adrian's death and Huntress' trauma, and trying to protect his people from the media assault that wants to paint them as criminals (or at least accomplices to murder)--- has this forced him to compromise his inherent distrust for authority and government...? Is Ollie asking himself: "What's the greater good here? In whose interest am I obliged to act?"
I think this crisis will tear Ollie apart. I think it might actually have been a long time in the making, and the coming events just might be the catalyst for the Mike Grell-type Longbow Hunter to emerge in Oliver Queen--- and for me, that is going to be exciting to watch!
But where does it leave the Outsiders...? Was the death of Adrian Chase the beginning of the end for this team? I, for one can't wait to find out!
Good issue, fellas (even if the team seemed a little too at-odds with each other)! I loved the reveal of Cadmus' secret weapon and Ollie's mole (although I am not a fan of the character at all, she seemed to work well in this dynamic), not to mention the out-of-left-field appearance of Snapper Carr (was he a mole of Ollie's as well?)...! And just exactly what did the team see that surprised them so much about Faraday's super-soldiers?
Looking forward to seeing how the crisis plays out in this book!
Great cover, Roy! You really get a sense of isolation, confusion and paranoia... The look on Green Arrow's face says it all.

Excellent point and great observation, Dave! Yes, Ollie is really going to be torn up about this one. Not everything is black and white and let's face it, Ollie has had his hands full for a while now with this group.
I will say that when this is all over, Green Arrow will probably be changed the most, and not just because of this crisis and his internal conflict, but because of everything that has happened since he began to lead this band of heroes.
Thank you for reading and for your thoughtful feedback. As always, it is appreciated.

Snapper freaking Carr? There's a name I never expected to see, anywhere!
Good stuff, fits in perfectly after the Justice League isue. I wasn't too surprised by Babs' reaction, though I was surprised she didn't contact Batman and say "WTF?" You tied in a whole lotta plotlines here (like the Question's "last stand" a few months back) in a cohesive manner and made it all work well...and Grace was a good surprise too! I'm with Babs, I thought for sure that was Roy.
My only objection is talking about these identical super-soldiers but NOT saying who they resembled. C'mon, man, do we got a bunch of Boba Fetts running around inside Cadmus or what?

Thanks for reading, Susan. Boba Fett? Huh... there's an idea. All shall be revealed... I promise.

This issue was just ok for me. The story itself was great but some of the execution just seemed off to me. Maybe because a lot of it was written by a different writer (or two) and it wasn’t the ‘voice’ I was use to associating with this title. The main problem I had was with the dialogue. It just didn’t ring true for me and took me out of the story from time to time. Of course there was some good as well. Rex Mason and Grace Choi were both great to see here. Looking toward the post-crisis landscape of this team both could make interesting additions. I like the tie-in to the crisis with Faraday even though that guy seems to be everywhere! Can’t wait to see how the New Outsiders mange to get them selves out of this mess. The best part of playing catch-up is I don’t have to wait! And what can I say about the cover other then Roy never has an off day. I especially love the expression on Ollie’s face. That was priceless!
