Omigod! This was awesome! This was... Ha! I loved the surprise assassin sent after the "Birds", and I loved the reveal at the end! The dialogue was spot on, but the conspicuous absence of Red Tornado saddens me. Poor guy deserves to live... To LIVE! And with the team in disarray, with members leaving and members soon to be joinng... Who will save our heroes?!
Yikes!

Woah. Big stuff here. The Outsiders are out, except Babs and Huntress. Kate is the new Manhunter and Grace is slowly coming into the fold. Do I detect some Birds of Prey in the not too distant future? Only time will tell...
Good issue. Desperately anticipating the next one.

A special thanks to Jay for letting me borrow my "surprise assassin" on this issue. And I'm glad you liked the surprise ending. I't payback time! ;D Red Tornado? What is a Red Tornado?

This next arc is purposely focused a bit more on "the birds" and the entrance of most of the new team. I love Gail's work and just wanted to do a bit of a tribute as she leaves her signature title. There is definately going to be a bit more of a birds influence, albiet darker, obviously. Thanks again for reading. Desperately trying to figure out what to do next issue. SL

The break up of the team was hard to read.. cause I liked it a lot.. but.. the ending is definitely one that will keep you on the edge and begging for more.
Nothing else much to say except this was excellent.
Good stuff, Brian.

Loved the issue.

Now that was unexpected.
I thought whatever was left of the team would stomp Catman's head in. Now I know why I didn't have to write any injury/defeat scenes for him like I was planning to at some point down the line.
Glad to see Dinah and Ollie can still admit to eachother that they care.
And that idiot rapist is still trying to play this situation! Grrr! I'm glad Kate sicced Bertinelli on his butt! I must say her characterization was also a pleasant surprise. I didn't make any connection when I heard her name; I thought she was actually a villain!
And I can't enter the lineup contest, cuz, well.....I already know one member of it. Heh.

Nothing else much to say except this was excellent. Good stuff, Brian. Thank you very much and really glad you liked the ending. You are right though, the break up was hard, David put this team together and then let me play with them and I've had so much fun with them it was a tough decision, but I hope you like the direction that we go in next. Of course always remember... once and Outsider, always an Outsider. Or is that Titans?

"You know who" accidently brought them together the first time, so the irony of it happening again, I hope isn't lost. Thanks for reading and responding.

Glad I could surprise you! Well, the element of surprise was on Catman's side, but boy did Batgirl give him a run for his money. I went back and forth on what to do with these two, but I didn't want to do what DC did for so long, and really, next to Dick and Babs, they are DC's premier couple who never seem to make it. What I've always tried to do with this series is to show that everything has recrpecussions, and Huntress' rape is a big one that isn't just going to go away. This will effect her life for a while. Just as it would in real life. As for Kate, she didn't feel like she had much of a choice left. I know your not reading DC anymore, but Kate Spencer/Manhunter is one of the absolute best things to come out of there in a long time and I'm honored that Mark and David (can't remember which one gave me the okay) gave me the chance to at least introduce her in this series. Good point. I'd hate to have to cancel the brilliant Titans Resistance cause somebody leaked something. ;D As always, thank you Jay. Your feedback is very much appreciated.

Well, I appreciate having writers like you, Charlie, Mark, John, Jay and David around. Something to be said for holding the mark... and as far as I can tell since I found DC2.. none of that group seems to ever really miss.

This book is consistently one of the best reads (if not the best) of the month. Brian's understanding of--- and love and respect for--- these characters shows in every paragraph. And the best thing about it is he connects his readers to them, as well! I know this was an "aftermath" issue (and an ending of sorts), but it also felt like a new beginning. There are lots of things coming together, and once again, a group of heroes finds themselves thrown together by circumstance! And how cool is it to see Roulette again! After 19 issues, she's back for her revenge! Loved the cameo by a certain Suicide Squader--- and the fact that he was established as such a bada$$ threat! And I, too, love Ollie and Dinah--- but agree that it's best if they spend some time apart now. Huntress' story is, as always, heartbeakingly real and engrossing. I'm loving where this is going with Kate Spencer, but can't help but wonder how much of Adrian Chase's shoes she'll fill (still, I'd love to see Munch get what's coming to him). The mystery of Huntress' mentor grows--- and I think I have it figured out (but I also think Brian may have told me months ago, and I've just forgotten ). Zee is coming off really stressed--- can't wait to see her stretch her legs in her own mini, soon! I would be remiss not heaping buckets of praise on the legendary Roy Flinchum for another simply gorgeous cover. Masterful composition! After two years, dozens of covers, and hundreds of pictures, this artist is still blowing me away! Loved the cliffhanger. On the edge of my seat 'till next issue!

This book is consistently one of the best reads (if not the best) of the month. Brian's understanding of--- and love and respect for--- these characters shows in every paragraph. And the best thing about it is he connects his readers to them, as well! To quote Ellen: *blush* This issue was definitely an ending and a beginning, and if you think Roulette wants revenge... you're right. And wait til you see who she has working for her. Just remember... you asked for it. Catman was a blast to write, and again I thank John and Jay for letting me use him. As for Ollie and Dinah, although they will be taking a break, you may see Black Canary pop up once in a while in the NEW Green Arrow series, starting this September. That is if I can get the Editors of these titles to get along with each other. Helena has a lot of pain in her and she's going to have to work her way through it. I'm just glad there's people on this site that want to walk her path with her. I do promise that Kate is not going to be the "new" Vigilante, but that doesn't mean she won't have a bit of her DC Proper origin. I did, but it was a long time ago. If you have forgotten I will give you a clue. The person is not a member of the JSA which is coming out in early 2008. ;D It's coming! I promise. Mark and I are nearly there! Quoted for truth! Roy is nothing if not amazing and I've been very lucky. Very lucky indeed. So am I! I can't wait to see how I get them out of this one. And as always, thank you for taking the time to read and deliver your thoughts. They have always been extremely kind and overly generous.

With so many back issues here at DC2, i really only skimmed through them (to find any info pertinent to my title) and i figured after the summer event is when I would really start to read and leave feedback, but after reading the latest NO, man, i wish i didn't take up that policy for this title.
This issue was just outstanding and i find myself eagerly awaiting the next one. Great job Starlord and I will get to those back issues.

Man, this is turning into "New Outsiders Disassembled" around here! Two members dead, a couple just up and left, the rest kidnapped...all thanks to a bald guy named Brian!
Of course, we all know you're not THAT Brian, 'cause you're not writing fifty flippin' titles a month. That makes you a thousand times better than the other mope.
Combos! (another cheese-filled snack) ;D

Kate Spencer rocks! She is a bad ass! Plus if I wasn't already one of her biggest fans here I sure would be after the scene with her son. Her thoughts that time was fleeting and her son would soon be to big to pick up made me think of my soon to be born daughter. Very cool. Who the hell sent Kate the package? When is her mother going to show up in Vegas and spill the beans about her dad? I need answers! I need more Kate! Ok now that I've gotten that out of the way... WOW Brian way to just tear a team apart. You've got a lot of nerve disassembling the most popular DC2 team book. Ok now that I got that out of the way... The scene where Ollie and Dinah parted ways was bitter sweet. I knew it was going to happen but I hoped that at the last minute they would....Oh well. The Friends reference was cute as was the famous Han Solo line from Empire. I totally forgot that Catman was going to be in this issue! What a freakin' badass! Of course the ending was a total shocker! Another 5 star issue that was only made better by another classic Flinchum cover. You guys never miss.
