Poor Kate......
As for Huntress, no I'm not really sure that things have turned out "for the best" because Adrian died. But all she can do is keep going on.
Babs....what the heck is going on with you?!?
But Jim knowing was very sweet.

Babs....what the heck is going on with you?!? But Jim knowing was very sweet. Thanks Jay! Yeah, Kate's world has turned downward pretty fast. I wish I could tell you it's going to get better soon, but... I think what Elvis was trying to show was that the road that was traveled was the road that was ment to be traveled. To everything, there is a purpose, and all that. As for Babs, what is the mystery surrounding her?!?!?! Trust me, it will be revealed. And I'm glad you liked the stuff with her father. I had fun writing those scene's. As always, thank you for reading and commenting. It means a lot! Also, a big thank you to Roy for an awesome cover! It really tickeled me to the core. ;D

Finally got around to reading this. Vacation kept me busy. Anyway, here's my thoughts.
A very sweet, kind of diverting issue. We've seen a lot of action in the past few issues and it's nice to get a break from it and see the sweeter side of Vegas' premier superteam.
I feel sorry for Kate and Helena. The stories were good insights into their characters and their problems, although Kate's offered more than Helena's. Still, a nice story.
Barbara's story definately offered the most. Jim knowing her secret was a great story and her change into Batwoman was unexpected, but welcome. Now if only we knew what's going on in her bat-brain...
Also, will we be seeing any more of Scott Cook in the future?

A very sweet, kind of diverting issue. We've seen a lot of action in the past few issues and it's nice to get a break from it and see the sweeter side of Vegas' premier superteam. I felt it was time for a break before the roller coaster ride that is looming large in front of the team. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Both of these ladies are having issue's that are going to resonate for a while in this book, and this was a perfect time to set some of that up. I'm glad you liked this one because it was the hardest of the three to write. Mark and I had been planning on moving Barbara into the mantel of Batwoman for over a year now, but we wanted to make sure she was ready... and we felt that now was the time. As for what is going on with her, the mystery will deepen, but I promise revelations before the trees begin to bud. You liked that guy, huh? ;D For all of you that don't know and have read this issue, the character of Scott Cook is the appearance of our very own UltimateDC! The winner of our: "Guess the new New Outsiders lineup is." Who knows, UDC, our angelic Elvis impersonator may make a return visit. As always, I thank you for reading, commenting, and supporting this title. It means a great deal.

This was a great issue and a nice change of pace (if only slightly) from the action. Kate's tale: It seems that Kate is really having a rough go of it lately huh? It's no secret that Kate Spencer is one of my favorite characters and here depiction here has been fascinating. The reunion with her parents was interesting. Makes me wonder why Paul Kirk was so worried about how Kate got her suit? Seeing Kate away from her son over Christmas was heartbreaking. I wonder if she will be able to pull her life together or will she end up in worse shape. No matter what happens I eagerly look forward to what happens next. Barbara tales: A nice moment between a father and daughter mixed with a few surprises and the growing mystery of Barbara's blackouts. First it was nice to see Batgirl become Batwoman! I think you told me about that two years ago when I wanted to use her in Suicide Squad. A the time I just thought you were being selfish. Now I see you really did have a plan. First Sheryl Crow and now Manilow. Very Vegas indeed. As for Jim dropping the bombshell that he knew all along who she was, that was interesting although not as big a moment as I thought it would be. What was bigger was his rendezvous with Chloe Sullivan! I really need to catch up on my DC2 bat books. Of course now that shes pregnant it makes me wonder.... Helena tale: Tragic. Hopeful. Funny. I see the contest winner made his appearance and the cover of this issue makes more sense now. The story itself was a big fat groaner but it worked perfectly. But the seriousness of Huntresses slow climb from the abyss is nice to see. A lot of other writers wouldn't have had the skills or desire to allow for the gradual healing that you have been working toward. That to me is more impressive then having her return to 'normal' the next issue and completely ignore the chance to see some real character growth. Once again the team has come through at the top. Another 5 star issue.

I'm glad your finding Kate interesting and I hope to keep it that way. Paul Kirk and the question of the suit is a thread that will definately be picked up again. Kate's story has just barely begun. The idea of a mother and her child being seperated at all is heartbreaking, but during the holiday's is even more tragic. I'm glad that came across. As is the way with life, there's won't be an easy answer to her situation, but stay tuned! Of course I had a plan. It just took a while for Mark and I to decide on the right time. And boy, you're never going to let me live that one down, are you. ;D It had been a while since father and daughter had been together, and I thought it was the perfect time. You should check out the bat books. Chloe was around for the last couple Detective Comics, as was Two-Face, Black Mask, Penguin, and Tim Drake! And over in Batman, Grant's been kicking butt with a certain young man named Jason Todd. I'm glad you liked this story, John. Helena has really become kind of a personal endeavor for me. I knew when I put her through the hell that I did, that I wanted it to be as real as possible, and that went for the aftermath as well. A human being doesn't go through what she went through and not carry the scars for a long time. Healing is a slow, and sometimes painful process. And there is much more of her story, to come. Thanks for reading this and responding.
