Oh fer the luvva...who let him in?
Anarky kinda came out of left field for me, and to be honest, i'm a bit disappointed. The only other time i've read him is in Titans: The Resistance in the Elseworlds section (Great series, BTW. Read it when you can.), but now he's hit mainstream and he's still the same pretentious douche.
Of course, the difference here is that he'll be on the same team as Black Canary and Huntress, neither of whom will tolerate his "I hate everything" sh*t, which makes me happy.
Okay, enough of my whining. This issue, like all the others, was brilliant. Kate's getting in over her head with the entire superhero/long lost parent thing, Huntress is pissed (What else is new?) and Grace is going undercover in the Chuch of Blood (and proving her acting abilities in doing so.) This should be very interesting.
Also, quick question: When I read the name "Mother Mayhem", my mind immediately thought of Ma Mayhem, a short lived (albeit very funny) jewel thief who appeared in an episode of Batman Beyond. Did anyone else think of this or am I just too much of a geek?

fantastic new issue. I loved how you introduced Anarky to Batgirl... and it makes me wonder who she wants to kill... hmmmm... Poor Kate. She just wanted to do the right thing and help Helena and gets beaten the shit out of her. And her mother is "spying" on her... Shame on you, Mrs. St. Clair Can't wait to find out who she's trying to protect Kate from... And Grace undercover? Hell yeah!

No love for Anarky? Give him a chance here, how he begins and where he ends up in DC2 proper, my be a bit different. And you're right, BC and Huntress aren't going to have a lot of patience with the young man. Oh, and I read every issue of Titans Resistance, it's one of my favorites on this site, and not just cause Jay is a friend and I edit the title either, it's one of the best written, most thought out, worlds in the Elseworld title. Kate's world is spinning out of control at break neck speed, that's for sure, and next months Christmas special is not going to give her a chance to breath, either. As for Grace, you'll have to wait til January when that story really kicks off, but trust me, it's going to be a Chruce of Blood like you've never seen before... I hope. Sorry, I never watched Batman Beyond, so I actually didn't even think of that. As always, thanks for reading, and I see you next month when our own UDC makes his appearence in New Outsiders #25 as... well let's leave that as a surprise, shall we.

Anarky and Batgirl's meeting was just the beginning of a unique friendship, and I'm glad you liked the scene. What is going on with Batgirl is a good question. Keep reading, clues abound. As I said before, Kate's life has just taken one huge nose dive, and it's going to keep on going for a while. But everything that happens, happens for a reason. Grace's job, for the most part, is undercover work. If you remember, that's how she met the Outsiders during the second Crisis. Ollie had hired her to go undercover at Cadmus. That's kind of her role in this group. Thanks for reading and taking the time to comment Riz!!!

Of course I was pleased to see Anarky here. And you're using the cult of Blood......if the next arc after that has anything to do with the Flash, I think we're going to have to stop sharing the same brain!
Anarky is closer to my, and the original DC characterizations of him so far, all though his motivations are somewhat different.
I know I sholdn't be, but I 'm annoyed with Huntress. What did she expect Kate to do, let Munch expose her and take all the Outsiders down, like Vigilante so nearly did?
Someone has brainwashed Batgirl. This is very very bad.....
Great writing as always!

No worries, no Flash in my next arc... maybe Plastic Man flashing, but that's totally different. You are right on all counts, and where I plan on taking the DC2 "proper" character is more than likely a different direction than you're going. I can't say that I blame you for being annoyed, the logic is right there. However, logic sometimes flies out the window when emotions boil to the surface. brainwashing... hmmm.... Thank you Sir! and thank you for reading.

Well, the upside: Good story with some nice swerves and strong building of sub-plots and characters. The menace that is building from some of your stories is quite delicious, and I like the use of Grace and I liked the fight between Kate and Helena. The critique side: The story flowed well, and each character showed through strongly, as each different character they are. But some of the dialogue, especially in the tense scenes, was stiff and unnatural. That seemed to come through most strongly with the aforementioned Helena/Kate sequence. Then again, getting natural-sounding dialog is so, so difficult, that a few stiff places isn't worth downgrading the story in this case. The downside: I hate Anarky. I was kind of excited when the Order of St. Dumas cropped up in name a couple fo times that this might be Azrael and he's an interesting character that could be a great player in DC2. I'm sure Anarky could be too. But I hate him. I can't stand his character, and his presence actually detracted from my enjoyment of the story. Still and all, I'll give this guy a chance, because one of my big problems is that he's one of those characters that, in the DCU, can't change. No matter what you show him, no matter the arguments that have good solid points, for him to be...well, him...he can't learn. And so I can't stand him. We'll see how he's handled here. On the other hand...the Church of Blood! Mother Mayhem! I'm quite thrilled there, for sure. And Paul Kirk, the one true Manhunter (well aside from Dan Richards)! Oh sweeeet! (yeah, Goodwin fan here ) Keep it up, and see you in thirty! Take care Don

The menace that is building from some of your stories is quite delicious, and I like the use of Grace and I liked the fight between Kate and Helena. Thank you Sir. Glad you enjoyed them! Thanks for knocking me down points for that, and you are certainly right, natural sounding dialog is very difficult, especially in the scene's that are bit tense. Sorry that you don't like Anarky, and the ironic thing is, I'm not a fan of Azrael in the least. Which I guess goes to show the diversity in people and their likes and dislikes. Wow, you don't like him, do you?! Well, I hope I can make you at least tolerate him while he's here. The one thing I try to do with all my characters is keeping them growing, their idea's and beliefs always shifting, without changing the core of who they are, sometimes it shows, sometimes it doesn't. I'm hoping I can do the same for this character, so just hang in there. Well I'm glad there are things to keep you coming back. I'm very excited about my Church of Blood arc that will be starting in January. Right after our big 25th issue, Christmas celebration! Hope you enjoy that issue as well! It's a bit reflective, but changes will abound.! ;D And I thank you sir for your time and your critique, it is always appreciated.

Just caught up reading the last two issues and I am constantly amazed at how you blend eveything together. Superhero action, mystery, a bit of soap opera, thrown in......you really should have a job writing comics.... Roy

There's only one word to to describe this: A freaking kick ass issue! OK, that wasn't one word but this issue was a blast. The cover rocked as was the showdown that it depicted! Now as I expected Anarky 'joined' the team this issue like I was afraid he was going to. Now I have never been a fan of the character but here he was pretty cool and his views and ideals were expressed in such a way that that made sense. I loved the scene with Kate and her home! The bombshell that Paul Kirk is her dad didn't really surprise me, not sure why. I can't wait to see what happens when the family reunion continues. I knew you would do great things with these characters and of course I was right! ;D I will never doubt your choice in characters ever again. Like I said previously, I was warming up to the idea of Plastic Man on the team and now I am 100% sold. His depiction here is the best I have ever read! Not only was his hitting on BC hilarious but: Was the funniest line I have read in a long time! Now we have Grace undercover in the Church of Blood. Should prove to be interesting. I wish I could be more objective but no one writes like you. You respect the characters and never betray who they and mask it with bad writing. You my friend continue to impress me and I can't say that about many writers. BLAH BLAH BLAH.....another 5 star effort!

Boy, I never realized there was such a love/hate thing with Anarky. But I hope you read issue #27 for a major revalation that might make your eyes pop out. Mom and Dad will be around some more. It's kind of interesting that so many things seemed to get tied into Suicide Squad and Checkmate, huh? ;D Glad you are enjoying him, and you liked that line. From a toddler to a pre-teen, I was raised Baptist, so it just seemed to fit for that moment. I think Grace under any covers would be interesting. ;D I probably shouldn't be replying at 3:30 in the morning. As Ellen would say, "You make me blush". High praise from someone who I have so much respect and praise for. Now when are we getting a Checkmate... hmmm...
