Brother Blood as leader of the Church of Blood? Why didn't I see that coming?!
Another good issue. The Cult is the source of Babs's craziness, which is interesting. The whole fire-rescue was fun to read. Mostly, i'm just glad someone finally kicked Anarky's ass. Been waiting for that to happen for a while.

What?! No love for Anarky? We will love Anarky when he learns to love himself...and the power infastructure that controls our day-to-day lives. -UDC

The infastructure and those who command and misuse it are two different things.
Needless to say, I'm very happy with Anarky here. And I'm wondering about his mother.....
As for Babs, that almost sounded like an evil fangirl program inside her head!
Five stars!

Anarky's story (and his mothers) will soon be revealed, I just hope that you end up liking the all new origin of this young man.

That bastard Charlton! I should have known he'd be the one betraying the team!
This was great! I loved the dialogue and I'm enjoying the addition of Plastic Man to the team, his presence has lightened up the book immensely since he came onboard! I'm liking how the third year of this title is progressing, and it's really good that you've been on this title since basically the get go, bar a few issues, shaping and guiding these characters from nigh on the beginning!
And didn't Brother Blood DIE in Teen Titans?!
And damn you, Brian, for giving me inspiration on a new story!!!
ARGH!

First off, when I read the title "Tainted Blood", I immediately started hearing a twisted version of Soft Cell's classic 80's song "Tainted Love" in my head. Oh boy, the spit's hitting the fan around here: Bat girlwoman has blown a microchip, half the team's been captured by the Church of Blood, and we find out that people named Charlton can't be trusted (kidding, David!). It's always a fun time in Las Vegas, baby! On a side note, though I'm a very lapsed Catholic, I believe what Plastic Man found would have been the sacremental wine, not sacrificial wine. However, if he'd found a room full of lambs and/or goats, those might have been sacrificial. ;D

That bastard Charlton! I should have known he'd be the one betraying the team! Well I was wondering who the first person was going to be to notice or mention that! Is the good Doctor, evil? Or is he just misguided in his personal loyalties? Hmmm.... Thanks, I'm actually enjoying him myself. He would have been the last person I would have expected in this group, but he does add something different to the team dynamics. Thank you so much, Charlie. I've written, and or writing, many books right now, but New Outsiders are still my favorite. There the one's I always turn to first. And didn't Mr. Freeze die in Batman? And didn't Jay Garrick die in the first crisis? (It will be explained, my friend!) Either I'm extremely happy for that, or feel sorry for you, since your mind is usually overcrowded with great idea's to begin with! Thanks for reading and responding, Charlie!

First off, when I read the title "Tainted Blood", I immediately started hearing a twisted version of Soft Cell's classic 80's song "Tainted Love" in my head. HAHAHAHAHAHA! That's exactly what I was thinking when I titled it! As Montgomery Burns would say: "Exxccellent..." Yeah, things aren't looking pretty. But I'm glad you come back to Vegas every month! It is a trip, isn't it! ;D See, if I had a real computer, I could have taken the time to check that out. However, being thrown in the basement for the last three years with nothing more than an old fashioned typewriter, this was not my fault. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. Of course.... the lambs are coming soon... Clarise.

Now that I am finally caught up again I will have to wait like everyone else to see how this all plays out. The issue had a lot going on. I really liked the opening history lesson on Vegas and the Church of Blood. I thought it was obvious that Brother Blood was behind the Church? Maybe if I had been caught up with the Teen Titans I would have been thrown off somewhat? Either way, the most enjoyable parts of the issue were the team interactions. It's nice to see a group that gets along so well and loves each other like family...of at least they manage to work well together and the fire/ rescue showed that. Of course the Batwoman mystery has been solved...or has it? I have a feeling that there still may be more going on there then we've seen so far? Even Doctor C's betrayal seems fishy. It's funny how this first part really didn't advance the plot much but the main characters drove this story very well. And it was cool to finally see the entire team depicted on the cover finally. Riz has such a unique style that makes his covers jump right off the screen. But looking at the cover did make me think of something....where the heck is Grace? I guess I will be forced to come back at the end of the month just like everyone else now! Thanks a lot!

Now that I am finally caught up again I will have to wait like everyone else to see how this all plays out. You again?! I'm glad your caught up, and honored that you took the time to read all the issue's that you had missed. It's very kind of you. glad you liked the history lesson. I've tried to do my homework when it comes to Vegas, especially since I've never actually been there, before. I keep waiting for the bosses around here to send me on an all expense paid trip for some field research, but they keep turning me down and throwing me back into the basement. There's definitely a different dynamics with this team, although I'm not sure they are all enamored with each other. Huntress and Manhunter have some issue's, and Black Canary and Huntress are not pals just yet... More going on? Maayybee... mwahahahahaha ;D Riz sent me that picture out of the kindness of his heart, and Roy, Mark, and I all agreed that it had to be used as a cover, it was just to beautiful. Glad you agreed. She's under the covers. Are you not paying attention. Yeah, late night is not the time to be responding. You're welcome a lot! And thank you for all your wonderful comments. They really do mean a lot! See you in a few weeks.

Very good issue, I enjoyed it a lot. I found Plastic Man entertaining, with just the right level of sarcasm and joking, and the tension among the other members was great. The growing mystery around Barbara was good, the threat of the Church of Blood as insidious as it should be, all in all just fantastic.
I must admit, I could only give four stars though I wanted to give five. Why? Seriously, honestly, Anarky stole that fifth star from you. Thank goodness he was only in as few scenes as he was, because he actually detracted from my enjoyment.
Otherwise, stellar characterization (and really, you nailed Anarky's as well, which had the ironic ffect of losing you a star LOL), great pacing and good action. Looking forward to the next issue!
Take care Don

Barbara's story is just beginning, as is the Outsider's clash with the Church of Blood. I'm glad you liked Plastic Man. I'm always nervous about how much levity to place in certain scene's. Wow, still not a love for Anarky. Well, maybe next issue will change some minds. LOL! So I wrote him so well it took away a star. That's really cool, and actually makes me grin. Thanks! ;D

When Batgirl renamed herself to Batwoman all I could think of was Misfit shrieking, "DARK VENGEEENCE!" I'd love to see Misfit make an appearance, but we've got enough hormonal teenage angst to fuel One Tree Hill into its next season with Anarky, so I'll just hold that thought!
I must say, the cover was utterly magical. It's so simple but stuffed to the edges with action it hurts!
The Outsiders have never been more, complete might I say? This current team feels so genuine in its collective of misunderstood and moody and completely dysfunctional characters. It's like Girl, Interupted for the DC2 Universe. I hope that this current roster is for keeps for now. But you know, you can never be too sure with this team!
I'm pretty sheltered in my reading of DC titles in that I only pick up Birds of Prey and Nightwing so I love that you're constantly introducing colourful characters and villians. Out of the current storylines, I must say Manhunter is my favourite. It's hard sitting back and watching all these unpredictable events unfold before her, but that's what makes the read so strong in that I actually wish I could do something for her! You've completely turned the cliché of a single working mother upside down and honestly, it's soooooooooooooooo refreshing.
Eagerly awaiting to see my beloved Outsiders go through more hell!!!

I thought I was the only one. Sorry, Misfit will not be showing up anytime soon. You are right though, Anarky is going to produce enough angst to not only fuel One Tree Hill, but two seasons of Degrassi as well. Riz did an awesome job, didn't he! I usually change my wallpaper once a month, but I've yet to change it from that picture. And speaking of covers, wait til you see what Mr. Flinchum has planned for issue #27. ;D I'm very pleased that you like this cast of characters. I can say that this team will be around for a while, but there may be one more that is still waiting in the wings... Very nice of you to say, and that makes me feel good, since this is a team that, when I went into this book, really didn't have their own rogue's gallery, like Batman or Superman. So I have to thank other writers of other books for allowing me to use many of the villians that I have used. I swear if you keep hitting all my buttons like this, I'm going to have to send you half my DC2 paycheck. LOL! I'm working hard to make Kate Spencer's character very interesting, and keep her true to her origin, but with a DC2 twist. The fact that you are enjoying her, makes me feel as though it is really worth it. Hell, you say? Interesting choice of words, cause after this Church of Blood arc, the team is going to... shhh, here comes my Editor, can't talk anymore. I do want to say that I'm extremely tickled when I see that you've posted your thoughts and comments not only for New Outsiders, but here at DC2 in general. You've been a supporter from the beginning, and we just don't see enough of you around here! Thank you for reading and for you thoughts.

There's various reasons I fade away, such as school, life, and the big one, television (!!), but I always come crawling back, so that's gotta say something about this coolio site! It's fantastic though to always receieve such warm welcomings each time! But watch out because I've got my own project hitting the DC2 soon, so I will definatly be around! And you're a devil, no pun intended! Your sly hint dropping will certainly keep me coming back to the Outsiders, whether I want to or not! Keep taking care of the Casino of Misfit Toys and do what you do!
