I know this was said before but I dont recall where so I thought Id bring it up again. What would people think about having (maybe in the 'What is the DC2' section) a thread stating which characters have appeared where. This would be good if you want to learn about a certain character especially for those planning on writing a new story and needing to know the character's past or whether they've even been written or not. Maybe good if you just wanna find out what issues your favourite character have been in. You could set it up like this. TitleMain character(s): team name (if applicable), then specific characters in that team Enemies: self explanatory Supporting characters: self explanatory new characters: anyone new to the DC2 so in the first issue for example that would be most likely everyone in the book. What are people's thoughts........................regarding this!

We have a thread like that. In the Writers Workshop.

I can see why it might be a good idea to have a similar thread here (or a copy of the thread) so that readers who don't have access to the Writers' Workshop can find stories featuring the characters they're interested in.
Having said that, such a list is hard to maintain and prone to errors, so readers could always use the board's search facility to search through all the titles for a character's name.
Admittedly this has certain disadvantages over a properly compiled index. Any issues with just a slight reference to the character will show up. Also, characters whose names are common English words, such as The Question, could throw up additional issues that contain just the words "the question" rather than the actual character. Also, any issues requiring passwords (such as New Outsiders) will only get searched if you're logged in to the relevant forum. On the plus side, it should flag up all of the issues that mention the character by name.

still.....I like the idea.
Plus I didnt know we had a search facility. Anyway this wasnt particualrly for me it was what the general audience want. If many people think its a good idea Is ay we give it a try coz having one in the Writer's Workshop is cool but what about wanting to find specific comic issues about the character. Surely searching 'Batman' will bring up copiuos amounts of stuff from the fan art pages and the general forum.

Well, the search facility actually lets you specify which forums you want to search so it's fairly easy just to search the actual issues themselves and exclude the discussion forums, letters pages, etc. Having said that, I agree that an index would be a lot more reader-friendly and could separate the cameos from the main appearances so I think that in essence it's a great idea. I'm just not sure how easy it would be to set up and maintain.

this is true but I recon maybe the writer of each issue could just write one after they finish. I dont know if that would be too much to ask. Obviously someone would have to want to do current back issues but I dunno. If people like the idea....

I'm a fan of order and organization when it comes to my writing and I think it's a great idea. I'd preferably have their profiles as short as possible and keep things consistent. If people try to use the search command on their browsers they can always press "Find Next" for things regarding identical words (The Question example). And new fans/readers of the site will have a good idea what characters appear. And new writiers will have an idea of what is available and the possibilities they have when trying to decide if they want to do a story here.
Plus, Glad to be back!

I'm doing my part for this, the word "Question" is not in WWA once, so anyone using the search feature to find the Question will not get sent to WWA by mistake.

you probaby will find your way into "The Question" if you search the word "question". Oh, and to clear up that query... The Question has already appeared in the DC2.

Hi, I just discovered this site and i'm really liking it so far, especially the art. I have a quick question. Is their anything going on with Robin. So far it looks like he's not active in any of the titles, and I couldn't find anything on him in the search. Granted, I haven't looked through everything here yet, but i was hoping someone could give me the 411 on him and any future plans regarding the character.
Thanks a lot and everyone keep up the good work!
