[glow=red,2,300]PLANET DC2[/glow]
Hello, everyone, to Planet DC2!
Well, here I am again. Let’s just say that, well, this hasn’t been a week without news.
A thing that has been boiling for months now has finally reared its head. And let me tell you, when writers such as David Charlton and House Of Mystery, in close collaboration with Ramon Villalobos, are those responsible for the birth of this project, it promises to raise the standards on this site! You heard it, Gotterdammerung is near!
Meanwhile, Weird Western Quarterly will debut some new characters! After issue 6, there’ll be Bat Lash, along with a character we won’t associate with cowboys, and issue 10 features what are said to be the most unexpected guest stars ever! Who will they be? We're not telling. But what about issue 6? Susan Hillwig, the author of the title, tells us “In April, WWQ#6 will be the DC2 debut of the Vigilante... Greg Saunders, the original Vigilante and member of the Seven Soldiers of Victory.” Just what is a guy from the 1940's doing in an Old West title? “You'll have to read it and see...plus, it'll give you a taste of what's to come when the SSoV miniseries arrives in late 2007/early 2008” Well, we wish you luck in upcoming plans, Susan!
Also, for those fans of the Suicide Squad (You can count me among those), there’ll be a change of writers! Newcomer Jay McIntyre will take over the reins of the title from John Elbe after co-writing some issues with him.
In Legion of Superheroes, things will heat up between the United Planets, when a conflict between planets escalate , along with a leadership change of the organization! Will the Legionnaires be able to control the damage?
Some little notes from the authors:
House Of Mystery: Promises us a hell of a ride with his current run in Action Comics, which has a little bit of everything! Read it!
David Charlton: Said to be writing Hawkman and… the JSA!
Scott, aka Lantern Lad: Though he has stepped back from the Green Lantern title, he’ll be co-editing. But don’t worry, that doesn’t mean he’ll stop writing the Lanterns! Watch out for him in The Green Lantern Corps Quarterly!
Now, to round things off, a plug for the two-part story beginning in this week's New Outsiders that features the final tragic confrontation between Vigilante and Vito Bertinelli, and a peek at the alternate, but possibly even more tragic, ending to the Vigilante/Bertinelli saga, as proposed by none other than MarkyMark, the current admin of the site, following the events way back in issue 8.
Somewhere, in a house on a familiar street, The Question arrives, but he's a minute too late.
Standing there in the bathroom is The Vigilante, his gun still smoking, looking back and forth between the two corpses he's just made. One of them lies prostrate on the floor, his long head bleeding foam-rubber onto the linoleum. The other one is in the bath, his fat body submerged beneathed the water, his hand holding onto a rubber duck.
"Why them?" hisses The Question.
"They were behind my wife's death," explains Chase. "That punk at The River told me."
"You're sure shooting guns all day hasn't affected your hearing?" asks The Question.
"What do you mean?" asks Chase.
"The guy said BERTINELLI," explains The Question, "not Bert and Ernie."
Wait for the next instalment of Planet DC2, written by House Of Mystery!
Until next time!
Sebastian Gutierrez Sanchez, The Flash writer.
