[glow=red,2,300]PLANET DC2[/glow]
Hello, and welcome to another thrilling installment of PLANET DC2! I say thrilling, but I don't think I'm really fit to judge, as, y'know, I'm writing it.
Anyway, the reason I'm here is because our usual writer, Sebastian, is sick! So let's all get together and wish him a big old PLANET DC2 "GET WELL SOON!" in this thread. You know you want to. Poor lad, he didn't see it coming! Though I did. I saw it coming because I was the one who put the poison on the dart.
No interview this week then. We'll pick that up next time round with a talk to Brian Burchette about #4 of Justice League Vs America, and maybe something else, but I'm not sure as I'm not writing it! Our second site event is really hotting up, with heroes fighting heroes, Avengers becoming Mighty and some becoming... New... Or... Wait... Kidding! I just want to say that some people have said that the event bears a similarity to Civil War, Marvel's uber event of the past year, but I have to disagree! JLvsA might seem at face value something like CW, but before you even REACH the surface of the event the differences are stark (that was not a pun, I swear), with heroes not betraying all they once stood for, but fighting for what is truly right. Superman isn't fighting Batman, Batman isn't going to start crying and remove his cowl to the world; they're going to fight for what the JUSTICE LEAGUE stand for, or die trying! And we mean it! But for those of you scared that we're going to go the DiDio way and kill off characters we think are useless, or just plain kill characters that we don't think are worth anything, check out The Flash #20, for the return of a hero that sacrificed his life for the entire DC2niverse!!
So, whilst I'm here I might as well hype some of my stuff, and maybe some others too.
For those of you who check out solicits early (like me) you might have noticed this new series:
Danger Trail
Issue #1: “The Blood and Dragon Affair, Part One”
Written by: Don Walsh
Edited by: Mark Bowers
A world on the brink of war; the criminal underworld running rampant; dangerous new technologies reshaping society: it's the Thirties and as humanity wearily stares down an oncoming storm like never seen before, a handful of unique people are about to take their first steps onto a greater stage. Their names will become legend: King Faraday! Speed Saunders! Doctor Occult! Midnight! These and others will find their lives becoming the stuff of storybook, but only if they can find their way safely along…the Danger Trail!
Yes! More Golden Age adventures!!
And Doctor Occult!
And speaking of Doctor Occult, just before I sign off... Have a preview of next issue, coming next month!!
"Magic isn't magic, per se. Magic is easy, magic is simple, you've just got to be able to persuade people it exists. Magic is one big lie, and that lie is dependant on peoples belief in that lie. You can make people disappear, you can make people turn into, I don't know, pigs, but the way that it works? Shifting reality through sheer force of will. Making reality different by consensus focus. A new reality through blunt force belief. Some people, I believe, have some inate ability to make that trust become real. Some people not, but those people don't need to sweat and perspire to make an ideal become life. They just say it, and it's there, it works. I mean, I don't know, this is all supposition, but I don't think I'm far off."
See you around, and keep Seb in your prayers!
