Here's another edition of Planet DC2, plus details of this week's new releases at DC2, DC3 and Marvel2. Details of previous and future DC2 releases can be found on the calendar.
Welcome back to Planet DC2!!
Last week I promised you another exciting interview. And here it is, another artist, this one a new one. Trevor Yarmovich is here! Enjoy:
How did you find out about the DC2/Marvel2/DC3?
Someone posted on the Mutants & Masterminds forum I happened to frequent. Being a fan of comics from both Marvel and DC, I decided to take a peek and see what it was about.
What do you think about them?
To be honest I was expecting some lame comic fan site with very amateurish work. I was amazed at how organized the sites were and how exceptionally good the artists and writers were. They hooked me the moment I came over here.
What do you prefer drawing?
I enjoy drawing comic book heroes, or people in comic book style line art. My preference is Marvel characters mainly because I know more about them and most of my comic collection and subscription is Marvel.
I do collect Green Lantern and Justice Society of America on the DC side. But aside from those two DC titles I collect another 10 Marvel titles monthly.
How do you get your work in here? Do they send you what to do, or you choose?
Well, if a title does not have an artist, I can either ask for the title, or sometimes a writer will Message me requesting me to draw a cover or be the monthly artist on the title. I decide at that point whether to draw it or not. Sometimes I am not interested at all in the characters to be drawn, sometimes I do not have enough time to take on another cover, and sometimes I jump on it and say SIGN ME UP!
The nice thing about these sites is, you write and draw what you are interested in. It is a Fan site, and we are all doing this for fun!
Any final comments, thoughts, anything?
I've been very impressed with the caliber of writers and artists on the three sites (Marvel2, DC2, and DC3). I am so glad I found this place, it has given me characters to write and stories to read beyond the comics I currently collect.
Though I may shift around which titles I draw for, I will hopefully be drawing on these sites for a long time to come.
You can see Trevor's work here or at Marvel2. Let's hope that he'll always have fun with us!
