I like, I approve, I would have prefered Nathan Fillion, but Reynolds is a strong actor, and I don't know, I think he'll rock.

Thought he was in talks to be The Flash, not GL. S'all good though, Reynolds is a good actor, and can probably do decent as Hal Jordan.

At least it ain't Justin Timberlake, thank God.
To be honest, my first thoughts were skepticism about Reynolds being Hal (I think he'd be better used as Kyle Rayner, to be honest), but I think we should wait and see. Who knows, if he does pull it off, I'll be happy.
And I love that picture of Hal and Deadpool. Poor Hal does NOT look comfortable.
Hal: *jerks thumb at Deadpool* Who IS this freak?
And speaking of Ryan Reynolds, I hope that during the filming of Iron Man 2, the missus goes redhead for it and learns a Russian accent. It's not Natasha Romanova without the red hair and the accent.
Iron Man: ...say 'Moose and Squirrel'.
Black Widow: ...nyet.

Who's going to play the Flash now? -UDC ....Emilio Estevez Dunno, since they seem to be taking their time with it; hopefully it'll be a good choice though. Not sure who I'd want to play Flash though. I'm usually more interested in who they cast as the villains with the Super Hero movies though. Especially when it comes to The Flash, who's got one of the coolest Rogues Gallery in comics. Sinestro is probably going to be the villain in GL though, I'm curious who's going to be cast as that.

If anyone has only seen Reynolds in comedies, you should check out the Amittyville Horror remake that came out a couple years back, not great, but Reynolds shows he's a pretty solid actor in it. Same with Chaos Theory and The Nines, both really good movies.

I still hate him over the whole Scarlett thing... Could not agree more. I'm all for this. I think Bradley Cooper would have been the better choice, but anything's better than Timberlake.

I think he could do a pretty good job. He's a decent actor. The only thing that worries me, is that he might be too funny. Hal's a cocky cop-type and everything, and he can come up with a good one-liner once in a while, but he's not Deadpool. I really hope the writers don't get tempted to make Hal funny just because his actor is known for being funny. -D.L. Mann

yeah, when I heard this about a month ago, my boycot of the movie officially began... I already watched reynold kill Deadpool (not to mention any other character he's played), I won't watch him kill GL too...

yeah, when I heard this about a month ago, my boycot of the movie officially began... I already watched reynold kill Deadpool (not to mention any other character he's played), I won't watch him kill GL too... -Cam- Seriously? I mean, Martin Campbell is directing the film, and he's currently one of the hottest directors of this generation, so I'm comfortably going to say it's going to be a visual feast. The screenwriters, Greg Berlanti and Michael Green are fans, they know what we, as comic-book-readers-and-lovers want to see, and I don't think they'll let us down. Heck, Michael Green has been writing Superman/Batman for a few years now, he knows what he's doing! Ryan Reynolds was, in my opinion, one of the best things about X-Men: Origins: Wolverine. The film was a hodge-podge of moments of punch-the-air-brilliance and head-in-hands awfulness. Wade Wilson was brilliant. Deadpool? Not so much. But Ryan Reynolds made Wade into a brilliant character, and then the script-- the script!!-- made Deadpool into a really awful, awful concept. I mean, if they went a different route, and, say, used Mimic in Deadpool's role, then that would have been better, but I really try not to suppose what would make any film better. That's not my job. Anyway, I have to say, I'm a Ryan Reynolds fan. Geoff Johns is excited, he's exec. producing as well, isn't he? Green Lantern is going to be epic. I'm looking forward to it based on the evidence of what's come before. That being said, if you hate Ryan Reynolds, then you've probably not got the same level of excitement in you as I do. I just really dislike it when people say they're boycotting something when they haven't seen anything of said project. I'll hold out and wait, because I'm pretty psyched.

I'm aware that green has been on Superman/Batman and he's the very reason I dropped the title.... so I already had doubts about it, then when reynolds was announced as Hal, that was the clincher...

I'm not a big fan of Reynolds, so his being cast at Hal is a bit disappointing compared to some other choices. On the other hand, Reynolds was absolutely perfect as Deadpool in Woverine (I know that because I couldn't stand the character on the screen anymore than I can stand him in the comics), and instantly identified who he was playing Not his fault as an actor they went the way they did with the character at the end. The other elements surrounding GL right now are enough to keep me interested in the project.
Take care Don

I think what will be a big factor in this movie is who they end up casting as Sinestro. I was and still am more interested in who plays him than I was about who would be cast as Hal.
