Geoff Johns is at it again: forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=152225I think the man is out to get all my money. Think about it. Old-school Legion (I love old-school stuff), big super-brawl (I love big super-brawls), Superboy/man-Prime (I do think he is a great villain), and GEORGE FREAKIN' PEREZ ON ART! (I love George Perez's art). I gotta get this. ;D

I kind of broke when I read this on newsarama.
I was like.
"O--"
Then I woke up a few hours later.

This nearly made me wet myself when I read it today... Ditto. I think this is going to steal the thunder of Final Crisis.

When I saw one of those preview images for Legion of Three Worlds, I got the mental image of Superman-Prime screaming orders at the Legion of Super-Villians:
Superman-Prime: I WANT THAT FAKE SUPERMAN AND LEGION DEAD! I WANT 'EM DEAD! I WANT 'EM ALL DEAD! THEIR FAMILIES, DEAD! THEIR HOUSES, BURNED TO THE GROUND!
Tyr: Wow. This guy has a real mad-on for the Legion.
Lightning Lord: And I thought I hated 'em.
Points to anyone who gets the movie SMP referenced.

Exalt to ya, Idle!
It's one of my favorite movies, too. Not the most historically accurate, but it's still a great movie. If it's on on AMC, I'll watch it. I wonder if it's on DVD.
Speaking of the LSV, I always wondered why Lightning Lord had such a mad-on for Garth, but not for Ayla.
Cosmic King: Yeah, I've always wondered that myself.
Saturn Queen: He's screwed up, that's what.
Lightning Lord: You want the truth?! It's his hair. He's always had better hair than me. Even when we were kids! When I got my powers, my hair turned white, now everyone thinks I'm an old man! His hair stayed red! COME ON!
CK: Okay, I admit it! I walked into that one.

Not my favorite DePalma movie or DeNiro movie but it MIGHT be my favorite Andy Garcia movie.

Meanwhile, Garth was off getting people pregnant and whining about Cosmic Boy. (did they call him cosmic boy when he was older?) They wove a tangled, tangled web.

I'm assuming there might be more to it, or it's one of those damn fangled Final Crisis Chip Kidd dressings.

Actually, I think that is one of those "damn fangled" Chip Kidd-style covers. All the tie-ins have the covers like that, only one "slice" showing anything.

Okay, so the first issue is out. Who got it, and what'd you think?

Bought it, read it, enjoyed it... I think it was good for new Legion readers who have little/no memory of the characters... but a bit redundant for the hardcore fan-folk. I think next issue when they bring everyone together it will really take off. But that does beg the question... how? How will they bring the three Legion's together? And will they be the Legions as we saw in that 2-page spread? When last we saw the DnA Legion, Element Lad was dead & Lightning Lad had E.L.'s body. Monstress was also killed by Element Lad... so... They could have made it the Legion of four worlds and had the adult Legion before the 1990's reboot... though I'm sure the other Legion in the 2-page spread is them pre-old age.

Thought the story was okay, although it was mostly exposition for newcomers; hopefully next issue will be better. Loved the Perez art.

I loved it. I love the Shooter/Levitz/Giffen version that seems to be center stage right now, and all the little bits and nods to Legion mythos. Also, did anyone catch Lightning Lord's comment about knowing Prime, like he was their inspiration, just as Superman was the LSH's...? Nice bit of business there, I thought!
Good start. Can't wait to see where it goes!

Bought it, read it, enjoyed it... So did I! It's the only comic I bought that week that I kept re-reading. I think it was good for new Legion readers who have little/no memory of the characters... but a bit redundant for the hardcore fan-folk. I think next issue when they bring everyone together it will really take off. It was redundant, but I think Johns did that because he wanted the series to be accessible to new readers. But that does beg the question... how? How will they bring the three Legion's together? And will they be the Legions as we saw in that 2-page spread? When last we saw the DnA Legion, Element Lad was dead & Lightning Lad had E.L.'s body. Monstress was also killed by Element Lad... so... Actually, I think there may have been a hint how in DC Universe #0. In the preview, the White Witch is seen in front of a crystal ball alongside Phantom Girl and Brainiac 5, saying she is making contact. I read an interview with Geoff Johns on Newsarama, and he said the images of the two Legions were representative, and that the Zero Hour Legion would be the way they were before they were rebooted, with Monsteress being dead, Lightning Lad in Element Lad's body, and all. Same with the current Legion, with their Mon-El back in the Phantom Zone, their Dream Girl being dead, and all. They could have made it the Legion of four worlds and had the adult Legion before the 1990's reboot... though I'm sure the other Legion in the 2-page spread is them pre-old age. I dunno what to say about that. I'm surprised the interview I read didn't ask about 5YL. I personally thought it was kind of ridiculous, but I know it had its fans, too. And I thought it was very appropriate that Prime would be the inspiration behind the Legion of Super-Villains. It was a great parallel to the Legion of Super-Heroes' origins. The LoSH got inspired by the real Supes, and the LoSV got inspired by a crazy version of Supes.
