All I can say to that is...
WOW!
Captain Atom Dr. Manhattan is too cool, and Nightshade Silk Spectre is super hot. ;D

Wow indeed. ...Well, there goes that idea about TDK being the best comic book film ever. (Though I don't believe it will be anyway, we shall see...)

I know the trailer is not enough to judge, but I hope Alan Moore sees this and changes his mind about putting his name on the movie...
Looks fantastic.

He hasn't watched the last few films and recently said he thought this one would be awful because he heard 300 was homophobic and racist.

300 was what?!

A common criticism levelled against 300 was that it was homophobic and racist. The Spartans were all big burly white guys whilst the Persians were all not. There's a lot of stuff around the internet stating stuff like that.

But historically were there any Spartans that were otherwise?

I think also the fact they levelled the "child-loving" label to the Athenians, when the Spartans themselves were not averse to having a child bride. They basically Americanised the Spartans.

The word is adverse for chrissakes! Second time you've done that recently! (And as far as pedophilia goes, the Spartans and Athenians had nothing on the Thebans!)

Still seems silly to call the movie racist and homophobic. These things get thrown around a bit much if you ask me.

Wasn't the quote "boy loving"? Not that it makes that big of a difference but I think it was and I think it specifies what they were so averse to...

I thought the Smashing Pumpkins sort of dampened the effect of the trailer. Most of my theatre for Dark Knight was like "WTF is this?" with the exception of myself and some comic book fans in the third row. I'm afraid for this movie though, not sure how they'll fit it all in or what not. At the same time, stylistically it looks really cool and I'm excited to see how they'll handle it. Could you imagine how much more effective songs there were for that trailer? I don't see how Smashing pumpkins fit into that equation at all. Personally, I woulda tried to get rights to Devo Beautiful World.

It was styilised and pretty true to the comic, and while it depicted a historical event, I think it's silly to pretend that it was meant to be an exact historical replication. I also don't think that Leonidas insulting "boy-lovers" makes the entire film and the director homophobic. It's an adaption of a comic, not of the event. The words just seem to be tossed around as buzz wods to get people in arms over nothing these days.

It is an amazing song....regardless of what other soundtrack it appeared on. I think it fit the trailer perfectly and added to what is hopefully an amazing movie. And I have to believe that Ramon was joking about the Devo song. I mean really.

No, I was totally serious! for some comparison's check out... www.ropeofsilicon.com/article/watchmen_trailer_to_comic_comparison/I hear for Snyder's next movie, he want's to adapt Betty and Veronica. Apparently you can hope to see a lot of slow motion and saturated colors. Keep in mind that's just a rumor... one that I am starting HERE.

Well, I have always been a big fan of Rage. "Killing in the Name' is one of my favs to play on Guitar Hero. ;D But the song here doesn't quiet pack the same punch as the one in the trailer. Keep trying though.

Devo was genius. And Mark Mothersbaugh is still turning in great stuff these days. I think it's funny that someone would level the charge of homophobia to 300 because I thought it was one of the most homoerotic movies I've ever seen. It was just shy of a porn metaphor. Hot Gates indeed. A good movie but it wouldn't have surprised me one bit to see two of the Spartans start going at it on the battlefield. Oh yeah, the Watchmen trailer! Dr. Manhattan looked cool but really cgi at the same time. And the crystal structure on Mars was just awesome to see. Most of it was just a lot of character shots though. That said, it was a funny contrast seeing this trailer, for the movie adaptation of the hallmark graphic novel that launched the examination of grim, gritty, realistic, and psychological themes in comics, and it just looked really cheesed up compared to the movie that followed.

It looked kind of stylized, but I won't deny I got that tingly sensation seeing Watchmen being advertised as a movie. This movie is either going to be pretty cool or at least decent. I loved the song that went with the trailer to. It captures the mood pretty nicely. I really didn't see anything racist or homophobic about 300, and the line was "Boy lovers" not "Child Lovers" I know 'cuz I'm watching it right now. 300 wasn't a great movie, but it stayed relatively close to the actual graphic novel (Not even going to touch the historic accuracy of the film, or book) and I thought both were decent. Now with all of these comic to movie adaptations when are we going to get another Dick Tracy movie!? (Seriously )
