For my money, the best of the Earthling GLs is Alan Scott. So sadly, I can't vote in your poll, as you appear to have overlooked him.  The others are all interesting characters, too. Not sure I could choose between the them actually. Fortunately, don't have to.  Take care Don |

Alan Scott is pretty rad, but you can't really compare him to the others as he draws his power from a different source...... I should've been more clear that it was a poll for the Gl Corps Green Latnerns.... maybe later I'll do another poll with all of them, Alan included |

Guy Gardner is my favourite GL right now. I like his attitude, and the way he treats Kyle. He's not a joke, he's arrogant, but funny, and I can get behind that. Next is John, he's come a long way and I loved him in Kelly's JL run. Then we've got Kyle, who was, I guess, my generation's GL, and then finally Hal, because he's been forced upon me, and yeah, he's alright, but he's been forced upon me, and I don't appreciate it. Alan Scott is slotted before Hal, I have to admit. He's pretty damn bad ass!!

It's actually tough to out him last because I like John so much, but darn it Alan is just a tad cooler lol..... Guy doesn't even rank with me unless there's some sort of negative board..... but that's just me........ like I said before, I'm a big Kyle fan.... he was the first GL to really go crazy and test the limits of the ring........ and, like you HoM I was never crazy about Hal because he was forced on me as well.... but with Johns writing him, he's kind of grown on me.... I still want to see Kyle starring in the main GL title again someday, but as long as Johns is on it, I'm alright with Hal

Kyle all the way. He was the one that got me into GL and I've loved his character ever since.

What the heck is going on here?!?
HAL JORDAN, ALL THE WAY, HANDS DOWN, NO-BRAINER! He's the frickin' Han Solo of the DCU! His popularity is the reason we have multiple Earth GLs (but in the end, none of them measure up, so we needed him back--- and he's better than ever now)!
I know that's a bit "age-ist" of me, as some only knew him as the guy Kyle succeeded, or that went crazy and become a supervillain then a ghostly avenger--- but that was just bad writing. The character retains all of his "Right Stuff" meets Corellian smuggler cool and in Johns' relaunch has never been cooler.
(for the record, I like Guy next, then John, then Kyle--- nothing against Kyle, who's a great character as well, just not as good as Guy and John---IMO)
(And as much as I love Alan Scott--- and I have a lot of man-love for Alan--- even if he were in this poll, he'd place second to Hal)

Guy first, he's such a bad ass. Then Alan for whom like David I have a lot of "man love" for. Then John. Then Hal, who is more of a generic super hero to me, though he's being well written here in DC2 land right now. Finally Kyle, who to my mind was yet another result of the cheap plot-twist/temporay sales boost shock tactic editorial "style" that I so despise. Not that Kyle is in any way a bad character (again, especially as he's written here at DC2); there were just about a thousand more intelligent ways to bring him into continuity than that whole Parallax mess.
