Alright, so that particular story arc has finished now, and I want to know what everyone thought about it. I have my own views, and I'll share them in a bit, but did people enjoy it? Was it confusing? Convoluted? Fulfilling?

one of the worst Batman arc I've ever had the misfortune to read.... and what was with him suddenly being in the normal Batsuit in the last issue without any explanation as to how he got it on? and then the way it cuts of so you're thinking "ok it'll wrap these loose ends next issue" but no, the next issue (the first part of last rites) just leaves more questions..... ugh can't wait to get a break from morrison on a Bat-title

Somehow I was expecting that kind of reply from you, Cam, what with your blatant love of Grant Morrison What was him suddenly being in the normal Batsuit? They put him in it! The Black Glove put him in it so his "downfall" (not death, they didn't intend to kill him, which was horrifying) would be more dramatic. Dr Hurt's exact words were "Buried alive in his best cape!"

yes but somehow I don't see Bruce just letting them play dressup with him.... still doesn't make sense...... hard to believe grant morrison can go from awesome stories like he did on JLA to this junk..... everyone I know is furious with this arc...... not counting the drones who defend it only because morrison wrote and think "he can never be wrong!"..... heck I love Geoff Johns but I've had complaints about his writing in the past (like the way he portrays Batman)..... anyways, point is, this story still has about a million and three loose ends it needed to tie up and failed to do so.... hopefully Denny O'Neil and Paul Dini can help tie it up with their stories

I don't think it's a matter of letting, he was poisoned, unconscious... plus he was dressed as a hobo! And it's his real costume, Hurt was in the Cave after all. I can see the flaws and I can see the awesome bits. I've got to go look at my blog entries on it, cherry pick and post them up here.

either way I'm just glad I won't have to have morrison on a bat-book until late next year (and even that's up in the air now as I heard he got booted from "Batman"... just a rumor though) until then I've got Paul Dini, the amazing Denny O'Neil, and Neil Gaiman I believe...... then Tony Daniel will write the battle for the cowl.... can't wait to see some of Daniel's writing.... I'm pretty excited about that!

I am a true beliver that if you cannot find anything nice to say about something, just don't say anything at all... And that pretty much sums up my thoughts on the title.

Well, on the nice front, it inspired me to take an Elseworlds spin on it...

I enjoyed reading each issue, but admit to being slightly disappointed by the story overall. Not sure how it accomplished what it set out to do (something about changing Batman forever)--- and what the heck does RIP stand for anyway (in this context, I mean, as Bruce obviously isn't dead)?
Of course, we really haven't seen the fall-out yet, and I guess we'll see the rest of the story unfold in Final Crisis.
I am inclined to give Grant the benefit of the doubt, as he is a great deal more clever than just about any writer working in comics today (at least I can't think of one more clever), and I ususlly have that moment months later after a comprehensive re-reading where the light goes off and I realize just what was going on, and am humbled by the man's wacky lit-fu.

I loved it, and I'm in the process of gathering signatures so a law can be passed and I can be legally wed to this arc.
It had the right amount of badassness, with crazy but good ideas, colorful new characters, awesome bat-family moments.
The downside is, editorial mandates made the story seem bigger than it was. They, in my opinion, advertised it wrong. And the drawing could have been better.

I thought it was OK at best. Didn't seem all that it was cracked up to be in the end...oh well...
