Have any of our members looked into this, yet? I stumbled across it on Comic Bloc, and have been obssessed with it for days now: I am itching to try it, but I hesitate to "destroy" the value of my collection. I'd love to hear anyone's thoughts or feedback, especially if they've had this done. (Here's the link: weeklycomicbookreview.com/comic-binding/

I could not do this. I just could not. Yikes. I'm such a geek that I can't even *contemplate* it. Sacrilege!

Looks awesome but I'm not sure I could either. Eh, I don't take the best care of my books anyway so it would be just as good to buy trades or HBs for me. I like being able to pull out single issues for reference when possible and I have a lot of stuff on computer too... that I... uh... found somewhere...

I'm not a collector in the sense that I hope to see a return on my investment--- I just want to be able to re-read and enjoy my comics! I find that the hassle of storing them, sealing with bags and boards is prohibitive to going back and browsing--- I guess that sounds lazy, but it's the truth!
Now, I wouldn't do this to a really valuable comic--- but I don't have anything like that (some old JLAs from the 70s in Fair condition; New Teen Titans Vol. I #1 signed by George Perez is probably my most valuable issue, though it isn't professionally graded, either). As far as I'm concerned, binding a run (with no chance of being collected, like, say my complete runs of All-Star Squadron or Infinity Inc) just makes it easier (and more likely!) for me to enjoy the books.
Plus, I think the binding looks sharp, and it's cheaper than buying the company-produced collections and omnibuses.

hahahahhaha
So I have this friend named mike and he's been collecting comics since the late eighties, around when Tim Drake came into the picture. Anyhow, Mike his this really large comic book collection and he was planning on selling it because he was moving so my friend Adam offered to do the ebay stuff for him but he needed the comics in town to sort em out and stuff, anyhow I offered to keep em here. Naturally I've spent countless hours sifting through this 8 long box collection and he actually had his issues of Death in the Family done up like that. Adam and I were confused by it, it was professionally done like those pictures with the fancy title on the cover and all. He also hole punched his X Men comics at first because he just liked having them in one place and he totally regrets doing both but yeah, I've seen it done and Mike clearly was ahead of his time.

well having studied for a finance degree..
Do you value the comics for investment?
or
Do you value them for the stories?
What's more important?
those are questions that would drive something like that for me.. I think it's a great idea personally if you're not looking to cash in later on.
