The Cure - Disintegration
That way I could wallow in my own misery as I wait for someone to rescue me from the island.
Or possibly Depeche Mode's Violator.
Or I'd just stick with my original: Dark Side of the Moon
Can I have 3?

Dark Side of the Moon is the one album I don't think I can live without. Every song is perfection.
Also, Moby - Play. Do not laugh! Each and every song is amazing, and I can listen to that again and again without ever getting bored.

Ergh, Dark Side is one I can't get past the first song in, too boring. Bhat music has not aged well... if you're in a state of constant sobriety that is, under the influence I'm sure it's greeeaaat... Scott, like kyle said as Robert Smith walked into the sunset, "Disintegration is the best album EVER!!" but on a deserted island, it might make me think about suicide a little too much. Violator rocks too but the same applies. ;D

Well I already said Queen's Greatest Hits one and two.
but if Scott gets a second choice, then so do I.
I'm going with the original Broadway soundtrack to Jesus Christ Superstar. It would be a one man production and all the animals would gather to watch the spectacle.

I've always thought "I Don't Know How to Love Him" was a cool song... that was that one right?

I've always thought "I Don't Know How to Love Him" was a cool song... that was that one right? That's right, Ramon. And Brian, I would absolutely join you in that sing-a-long. I've known the lyrics to all those songs since the mid-seventies (except my experience comes from the movie with Ted Neely and Carl Anderson--- both of whom I saw reprise their roles as Jesus and Judas in an off-Broadway production in the 90s). Gethsemane is my favorite, and I've cracked some mirrors in my bathrom belting out that tune in the shower on more than one occassion!

When I was your age I would have said (in fact, I did say) the same thing. I, for the longest time thought that The Wall was far superior (I mean the guitar solo on Comfortably Numb is, perhaps, one of the most amazing things ever recorded!). My appreciation for Dark Side reached it's zenith around the age of 25 when I started delving into more blues-tinged rock. The album, in my honest opinion, is utter perfection from first note to last. Money is just one of those songs that you want to groove to. Time is fantastic (though I don't recommend blaring it in your I-Pod headphones until after the clock chimes finish... ouch). Us and Them is beautiful. The Great Gig in the Sky, though not my favorite track, has an amazing vocal track. The 1-2 punch of the last tracks on the album (Brain Damage & Eclipse) bring chills down my spine. To summarize... get old, it does wonoders for your musical taste!

okay, so we're going with a two man show on the island. That's cool with me. I get dibs on Pilat! My favorite songs come from him.

It's not really fair to have to pick one. Damned near impossible actually. I'd say like picking 5, heck 10, would be closer and still hard to do. Dark Side of the Moon IS perfect close to music perfection. It's like the all-time best selling album right? I think it charted for literally decades. Um, anyone do that thing with the Wizard of Oz? ;D I saw Jesus Christ Superstar with Ted Neely and it was supposed to be Ian Anderson but he had a family emergency and was out that week so the guy that played Peter filled in for him. Currently rocking Wolfmother.

I have great respect for Dark Side of the Moon and I am the same age as Ramon. Then again I'm a girl and that automatically makes me mentally older by at least 2 years! The only way that album could get any better is if Comfortably Numb and Wish You Were Here were on it.
I will now add an album that none of you would ever pick!
Backstreet Boys "Millennium"
I think this album was the peak of their popularity and has some of their best songs. BRIAN 4EVA!!!!!!!!!!! ^_^

I've been debating this question since I first read the thread. Only one? damn, that's tough. I will throw support for JC Superstar (I was also lucky enough to see the Anderson/Neely run in the 90s), and Dark Side of the Moon. Both fantastic albums. If you're looking for trulyl astounding rendition of Getshemane, then try to check out Kris Phillips's performance from ALW-Masterpiece, the show done in Beijing. This guy is amazing! I have a few options, but I'm trying to whittle it down. It's not easy, but I'll throw in an odd choice: Phantom of the Paradise. What a fun, fun soundtrack, with some songs that just can make you think, and from a truly under-rated songwriter in today's age. Styx Caught in the Act is in that list too, somewhere (something by Styx has to make it for me, this one will do ). So, so many tough choices in my collection. I'll keep working on it for you all. Take care Don

Linkin Park over Eminem? Really? I wouldn't put an Eminem CD anywhere near the top of hip hop albums, but under Linkin Park?

I reject any law with Charlie on the board. That being said I was reading through this thread and had to add two more since we're all picking three now. Nirvana Nevermind. Not really my favorite Nirvana album personally but it still holds up today and really was one of those albums that changed the course of rock. Also, I pick any Foo Fighters album simply because I want to.

I think Minutes to Midnight is LP's best album! See, I prefer Hybrid Theory, because M2M starts SO strong, but then just loses me by the third song. I'm used to a Linkin Park album I can listen to from the opening to the end, and that's what HT was to me... :\

HT was definitely that, Charlie. But I think LP are onto something incredible with songs like what I've done, Leave out All the rest, & the little things give you away. Took me longer to warm up to certain songs and then others I knew I loved from the first 5 seconds. I think the weakest songs are In Between (just doesn't hit me like the others but could be great) and No More Sorrow.

"Why is Charlie such a loser?" I think...
In which case, the answer is indeed because he likes Metallica Master of Puppets forever and always.

Minutes to Midnight is awesome beginning to end. Shadow of the Day, No More Sorrow, Hands Held High, What I've Done. But most of all Bleed It Out.
LP 4-Ever
